At the state banquet, Queen Máxima wore a dress specially designed by Pakistani fashion designer Mahpara Khan. The design features Mughal patterns fused with traditional dapka, naqshi, resham, and gota embroidery. Queen Máxima had previously worn this dress at the wedding reception of Jordan’s Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa.

CA is in Safyaa it seems to be her go to designer as we’ve seen her looking fabulous in a few of the dresses. The color is beautiful and suits her coloring.
QM dress is a repeat from the Jordanian royal wedding, it’s a gorgeous dress and worthy of a repeat wear. Her Pearl drop earring are breath taking. All the jewels on show tonight are divine. I believe the Dutch jewellery collection is one of the best.

  2. Surprise state visit in the Netherlands today!!! I'm glad to see the Princess of Orange joining her parents for tonight's banquet.

Queen Maxima: While her Majesty look very regal and elegant, her outfit is a little too monochromatic for my taste.

Princess Amalia: The princess is the clear winner. She looks absolutely stunning tonight. Her hairstyle, dress, ruby tiara and jewels all go great together. That soft pink color really suit her. It's nice to see Princess Amalia developing her own style.

She officially debuts in the Mellerio Ruby Tiara! There is a picture of a much younger princess amalia trying on this piece and now seeing her now it's a full circle moment indeed.

  3. Máxima is absolutely gorgeous. That dress is fascinating. It matches beautifully the tiara, the earrings and the necklace. Perfection. Amália is ok, but her hair is a no with the tiara. And the sultan is also elegant. Only the colours of the turban are at odds with the clothing.

Oooh Odlanor I’m of the opposite opinion for Amalia’s hair. I think this is a beautiful styling for a younger woman just getting in to tiara wearing. A full updo is too mature I find and I love it pulled back at the top so the tiara sits well and then to see her long hair. For me this is her best “tiara hair” so far! - Mary

I think Q. Max has done extremely well here - choosing an ornate dress that minimizes the large Omani chain, then adding pearl and diamond statement jewels to finish the look. It’s a subtle colour palate but it packs a punch. CPA looks wonderful too. Her gown is a flattering colour and a good fit, and the choice of the Mellario rubies is excellent. They complement the dress and the sash. (V.M.)

    4. Well said! QM's dress had something medieval to it that I love. The sultan also looks spiffy, I wonder about the colors of the turban, does anyone knows something about this?

  5. The Princess of Orange is the star here. She looks fantastic. I just wish she had her hair up to make the whole look perfect. Queen Maxima looks classically elegant but is too colourless to count as one of her best

  6. Queen Maxima looks incredible. Beautiful gown, gorgeous jewels, (the pearl strand necklace looks brilliant) she looks majestic and regal. Very elegant, and graceful. I love her up style hair incorporating her tiara well.
The Princess of Orange looks breathtaking. Stunning appearance. The gown is beautiful, fit and style suits her well, the color is divine. Her choice of jewels, divine. She has some lovely pieces, and she appears to enjoy wearing them, well done.

M.dress is rather shapeless and the color and pattern doesn’t suit her. Great dress for CA, but it gives a strange fit around her upper arms ( not the case with the model). Too much jewellery, it somehow takes away from her youthfulness.

Queen Maxima’s dress is awful and washes her out, I don’t think I have ever seen her so grey and colourless before. The colour of Crown Princess Amalia’s dress suits her very well, but she should have opted for a smaller tiara and bracelet.

The jewelry tonight is not good with the dresses: Maxima: beautifull dress but the pearl necklace hides the neckline; CM : oh my, rubys everywhere!

QM's fully embroidered dress of Dutch designer Jan Taminiau is magnificent, although the colour is a bit pale for her. Together with the pearl tiara, necklace etc..in one word regal. I am stunned by Amalia in her lovely pastel dress. This model supports her figure and length. Also her hair-do gives a modern young swing to the classic tiara. Well done Amalia

Maxima's dress is not by Jan Taminiau. Read the captions please. It is an amazing creation.

Sure Maxima's gown must have been made from a highly valuable fabric, the embroidery is uniquely beautiful. But the gown lacks what we are accustomed to see Máxima wearing on occasions like this - I cannot find a better word than femininity, which is hidden here. It is not only that her skin is completely covered, she has other dresses where this is the case. But this gown, how it is cut, is somehow hiding the fact that we have a beautiful woman here with corresponding - well, yes: curvature.

I'm not entirely sure but Maxima's silver gown looks to have beads/ crystals sewn into the fabric , especially in the bodice.
I think this gown Is of the sort that must be appreciated when hit by lights.
Strangely enough, camerars didn't catch some " glittering" moments.
Maybe It was the photographers' choice not to direct strong lights towards Maxima just to avoid reflections and blurring effects.
Other than that , the Queen looks spectacular and Pss Amalia is incredibily majestic and gorgeous.
Her hair is styled so beautifully.
      Her jewellery is jaw- dropping.
Once I read that Amalia knows everything about tiaras and their origins and has learnt a lot by watching her Mum getting ready for the most prominent events.

Maxima looks like a stilted statue, unable to move in that garment. Not a fan of the first photo, when enlarged, the daughter has an odd look on her face. King looks unwell.

  15. Queen Maxima's dress is very interesting - must be really heavy! I'd love to see detailed photos of the embroidery and beading. The Princess looks spectacular! She is a Beautiful young woman!

The dress Maxima is wearing must be really heavy from the embroidery.
They didn’t succeed in getting it into a flattering model which is a pity.
The waist is too high and the bodice too wide. She looks a bit uncomfortable with it.

I think QM dress is perfect for the guest country, and the tiara and pearls do not compete with it. I would love to see the exquisite work of embellishment up close. It may not be the brightest colour but she looks regal without taking the spot light. the princess is just wow. Love the sleeves on her gown, gives coverage and shape to her upper arm. The rubies are just magnificent, and her hair gives her a youthful look rather than matronly as this dress could easily do. The men look so posh, just a lovely sight.

I remember the wedding reception for Prince Hussein where Queen Maxima wore this dresss. There it looked like on the first 4 pictures light beige and gold. On the 5th picture however, it looks grey and silvery which is not the color by natural daylight. I like Queen Maxima in this dress and it is very appropriate for the visit of the Sultan of Oman. CP Amalia looks beautiful too. Safiyaa dresses are beautiful and very popular among young princesses : CP Elisabeth of Belgium has a fuchsia dress in short version by Safiyaa and Queen Mathilde has a red short dress by the same brand.

Safiyaa Ginkgo Lavender Dress looks gorgeous on Amalia. Love the color, fit, styling. I love how the dress's color works so well with the sash! Perfection. One of her best appearances.
Maxima's dress looks very pretty but I think this color needed more colorful stones, not pearls. Although I have to say that the Württemberg tiara looks amazing!!!
