On August 14, the youngest son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, Prince Julian was christened in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace. Johan Andersson, Stina Andersson, Patrick Sommerlath, Jacob Högfeldt and Frida Vesterberg became sponsors of Prince Julian. Prince Julian Herbert Folke of Sweden, the third son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, was born on March 26, 2021 and is seventh in line of succession to the Swedish throne.
King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, Princess Madeleine, Chris O’Neill, Princess Leonore, Princess Adrienne, Prince Nicolas, Princes Alexander and Prince Gabriel attended the christening ceremony. Just like his brothers, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel, Prince Julian’s christening took place in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace, which is located just outside Stockholm.
Lovely dresses and hairpices on all the women.
ReplyDeleteBig brother Alexander is really sweet
and of corse cute little Adrienne
Agree. Absolute lovely.
DeleteEveryone looks wonderful here - P. Madeleine and her girls in shades of blue, CP Victoria and her daughter in pinks, and the Queen in soft aqua. The only thing I don’t like is the scarf/bow headpiece on P. Sofia. It doesn’t flatter her, nor does it complement her lovely dress. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteWhere is Princess Sofia's family?
ReplyDeleteAnkelinka
Her mother is behind Queen Sylvia.
DeleteBut as they are not royals their will be less pictures of her mother and sisters.
Josh
Her parents are behind the king and queen.
DeleteI am sure they were present. But photos of them were not released.
DeleteIs her sister married? Is she pregnant?
DeleteAnkelinka
You can now see her family in the group picture - her parents next to Sofia, her sisters and grandma behind them, and her brother-in-law next to Christopher O'Neill.
DeleteSofia's parents are beside Sofia in the group photo. ~Laurel~
DeleteSplendid dress and stunning bow for Princess Sofia! Not a fan of Princess Victoria's flower print though. But love that little Adrienne apparently had some important information to impart to her sister! And of course, Oscar's non-smile, always a winner. Lovely extended family !
ReplyDeleteJust lovely. So nice all the family was together.
ReplyDeleteClothing wise I think everyone looks great. Winners for me are Sofia and Madeleine. The little girls look lovely as well.
Bee
Agree. Sofia looks stunning. Her make-up is well done and she looks so happy.
DeleteJulian has inherited his mom's blue eyes.
E.B.B.
Beautiful christening.
ReplyDeleteSofias Etro dress looks beautiful. Dont like her headpiece and hairstyle very much but one of her best looks neverless.
Madeleine looks dreamy and breathtakingly beautiful. Hair, hairpiece, dress all perfect together. Madeleine is my favorite.
Victoria's dress is better than what she usually wears but I dislike that bow and her slicked back hairstyle. A bit boring and uninspiriring look.
Silvia looks beautiful in light blue. Nice pop of color.
All the children are well dressed, love seeing little princes in suits. Adrienne's curly hair are so cute. Oscar looks tired.
--Sharon--
Sophia: beautifull and happy, love her dress.
ReplyDeleteEverybody well and festive dressed!
Josh
ReplyDeleteEtro is not really my cup of tea but I like Sofia's dress and the whole look, Silvia looks great too, others are too floral for me.
ReplyDeleteCp Victoria hair is now really boring.... Never ever tried a different style in all these years.... Hasnt she a hairdresser at court??
ReplyDeleteGorgeous family!! Beautiful ceremony!! Love little Adrienne's curls and Leonore is growing into a stunner like her mama!!
MARIAMAR
Sofia is the most beautiful woman in Swedish Royal Family. Figure, style, hair... she is so thin. Beauty.
ReplyDeleteRaquel
These photos are so special! They all tell a beautiful story...sometimes about one person, sometimes a family group.
ReplyDeleteI like all the adult ladies dresses - summery, colourful and suitable to each persons choice. The children all look very cute as well (the young boys in their formal wear made me smile) and the men look smart too. Chris is making a valiant effort but is bursting at the seams, lol. However good on him for going with the flow.
The king and queen have every reason to be proud of their family on this special day.

Did you know if Frida Vesterberg has her own children?
ReplyDeleteSandra
Jennifer, your comments can be sometimes understood wrong way.
DeleteAva
Ava, I think people are understanding them exactly how Dzennifer intended.

The clothes of the Queen and Madeleine look fantastic in colour and model. This cute little daughter of Madeleine with all the curls. Adorable. Victoria a bit boring. Never like her hair so strict backwards. Sofia's dress is nice but it does not flatter her. Too much big prints. The same goes for this strange hair thing
ReplyDeleteNicolas looks how a little gentleman should. Wish Sofia would cut her sons’ hair.
ReplyDeleteI am also very far from “woke” but please realize that is your personal opinion. Boys (and men) have worn long hair for centuries and in various countries. As a matter of fact, short hair on boys is a relatively modern fashion (And very American). Little and big gentlemen have looked very handsome in long hair throughout history.
DeleteWhy ?
DeleteYes the men have been wearing long hair and at the same time tight pants, ruffles on their shirts etc; by the way, their long hair were often wigs. Do you also have nostalgia for these sets for today's little boys ?
DeleteWe have several little boys here with different hairstyles, for me Nicolas and Gabriel have charming hairstyles, Oscar could perhaps be a little less classic. But if you compare with other recent photos of Alexander I think his hair was cut a bit, not enough in my opinion.
Have you ever wondered if Alexander appreciates having a hairstyle that is quite different from others, and the extra care it requires ? I know however that longer hair for boys is rather a local trend; I am not sure it will help him to adapt to his contemporary school life, for sport or others, if it is planned to keep his hairstyle tidy. So I agree with Not woke person.
All of our comments here are our personal opinion. So I'm entitled to mine too. I also did not give my name as "not woke person", but it fits. Thanks.
DeleteSofia looks absolutely beautiful in this dress! I also like all the other dresses. But I must say the winners for me are Adrienne and Oscar!
ReplyDeleteAll look just wonderful. Beautiful ladies, well dressed. Princess Sofia’s style is getting better and better. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteBut pleeease no more white Plateau Pumps, such a nice dress would have gone perfectly with simple, elegant nude pumps.
What lovely photos. In order my top six favourite things are
ReplyDeletePrincess Estelle standing with the grown ups instead of siting at the front with the children.
the photo of Prince Gabriel and Prince Julian
the elegance and colour of the Queen's outfit,
Princess Madeleine's stunning hairpiece
Princess Leonore and Princess Adrienne in their cute matching dresses
Prince Nicolas, who looks just so smart
Princess Sofia is just stunning. Beautiful face. Lovely figure after three boys. Love
ReplyDeletethe dress. All of the ladies look very pretty! Lovely day for the whole family. We are getting spoiled with all
These photos! Jen
Everyone looks delightfully summery and joyful. Would like to see more photos of the inside of the church - the Swedes are masters at floral arrangements for major events. The little I can see looks beautiful, colorful, cheerful. Prince Julian is so cute! S.M.
ReplyDeleteI don’t wish Sofia would cut her son’s hair. I love it. To each his own. It isn’t hurting anyone. I love how those boys looked. And I really like the way they are dressed. Chloe
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Chloe! I love the boys’ hair and their outfits are fabulous.
DeleteNot a fan of the floral dresses worn by the three princesses, but it's still Madeleine's one I prefer. Pretty good little girl's dresses for Estelle, Leonore and Adrienne. Too dark formal suits for Oscar and Nicolas.
ReplyDeleteLittle boys with long hair? Why?
ReplyDeletePamela
Why not? Where on earth does the idea come from that boys should not have long hair. I presume that either the commentators are extremely conservative living I cannot imagine where or they are all over eighty and living mentally in the 1950's.
DeleteI do not mean to be derogatory but really long hair for boys and men started coming back into fashion et the end of the 1960's beginning 1970's and has never been away since.
That child is gorgeous with his beautiful hair. Short hair does not make the boy or man.
Nalerina, you nailed it! Also I have been wondering those sexist (yes, they are nowadays sexist) opinions about boys' hair. Also I believe that most of those who write here are very conservative and perhaps also a little bit older. My son has long hair (with a bun) and the other of my daughter's sons has long hair too and he is eleven years old. When hair is thick and looks good it doesn't matter how long it is. Alexander's hair looks gorgeous, many girls can envoy it. He resembles Victoria very much.
DeleteI adore Sofia's dress and hairpiece and the queen looks lovely. I can't see much about Lina's dress but it looks very nice. No surprises with Victoria and Madeleine, flowers as usual. All the children are adorable, especially Gabriel and Adrienne.

... Because fashio? Behold the present Dutch King and his brothers: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gPUP4cbPjcM/W1LQ0sL2sYI/AAAAAAAAP_Q/k_T4kYfJ1VcNbKFURUzf9iZmQzQPPuJtwCLcBGAs/s1600/Willem-Alexander19745.jpg
DeletePrincess Madeleine looks stunning. Love her dress, hair, headpiece. She's in really good shape after 3 kids.
ReplyDeleteHer mother Silvia shows that with eye catching color, style of your outfit can be simple but still look elegant.
Sofia's dress looks beautiful but I don't like her hair and that big white bow on her back. Looks strange with her dress.
VIctoria looks boring. Don't like the print of her dress nor fit and her strikt hairstyle. Expected more of her.
Little children are sweet and cute. Adrienne with her curls. Little boys in suits. Leonore and Oscar more serious.
So happy to see all of them gathering together.
Karin
Why would you expect more of her? She has stuck to her usual style.
ReplyDeleteMichel aus Lönneberga - stimmt! :-)
DeleteJa!!
DeleteIn Schweden heißt er übrigens "Emil i Lönneberga" :-)
Lovely family, celebrating the baptism of the newest member;
ReplyDeleteVictoria, Daniel and children; Beautiful, handsome, well dressed
Madeleine, Chris, and children: Beautiful, scruffy beard, children well dressed.
King, Queen: Stylish, simply beautiful
Prince Carl, Sophie, children: Handsome, beautiful, (though she should have gone with a different hair style and hat, as they looked messy, and unattractive, on the fence about her dress and shoes. The eldest son looks exactly like the Queen!
Overall, a beautiful family celebration, looking forward to more photos of everyone not just Madeleine and family (5 just in this article). jj
Everyone looks lovely. This family coordinates their attire like nobody's business!
ReplyDeleteI think the Queen looks stunning.
Adorable children who seem to be growing up so quick 😃 Estelle is getting so tall and Leonore posing so nicely for the photos. Adrienne with her beaautiful curls is nice sight.
ReplyDeleteMadeleine is so pretty and elegant in blue. One of her best looks and not afraid to show her beautiful hair like her bigger sis. Victoria looks boring for me. Ugly dress and print. Sofia looks lovely in her floral dress but that xxl bow look ridiculous!
I guess this was the last christening for the years to come.
Andy
I guess we all have a preference. Beautiful event overall, in my opinion. My winner is Madeleine (and by quite a distance), followed by Victoria and (reluctantly in the’nice’ category), Sophia. All just my personal point of view, but also consistent with the long term opinion I have of their style overall. Ever since they were teenagers, Madeleine had a great sense of style and Victoria seemed uninspired (to put it mildly). As to Sophia, I was never impressed by her ability to balance the demands of a Royal wardrobe with her own instincts (which veer a little too close to questionable appropriateness).
ReplyDeleteThe queen is such a wonderful lady. Regardless if she was going to marry a future king or not, she always had an inherent sense of style and that continues to be obvious in her late seventies.
Overall a nice and happy Royal event, the likes of which we haven’t seen much in quite a while - and I for one was missing them. May little prince Julien have a wonderful healthy life with his loving family. God blesss.
CH
Lovely pictures from Prince Julian's christening. The same was the family photos from Öland ! A modern and exemplary royal family.
ReplyDeleteIs PJ the first of King CG's grandchildren not to receive the titles HRH and Duke after the change in the law?
- Kris
He is Prince Julian of Sweden, Duke of Halland. Only Victoria's children are HRH, Estelle and Oscar. All the children are dukes or dutchesses.
Delete- rita -
Yes Kris, you're right
DeletePrincess Madeleine looks so beautiful in blue. She's on gorgeous woman with style and grace. Glad she and her family could attend the christening.
ReplyDeleteThe children are growing up so fast. Estelle and Leonore are lovely young ladies already. And Adrienne with those curls..aaaahhh. Julian has inherited her mother's blue eyes it looks from the photos.
Daniella
Oh they all look so fantastic :-) wonderful occasion, wonderful outfit and as far as I heard a very happy christening.
ReplyDeleteHow cute, that the big brothers helped to put the water in the bassin. (sorry, I don't know the correct christening-words.)
They all looked great. I like Sofias dress a lot, the pattern remindes me at the swedish little red wood horses, lovely and fantastic.
I'm ok with the hairpiece, but it's not a wow for me.
The boys look very nice in their formal but not to formal dresses.
Madeleine looks very nice in her dress. I like it a lot. Her hair is also very nice.
The girls look very nice in their dresses, it remindes me on Charlotte of Englands dresses, I guess, it's the same firm and maybe a dress that Charlotte also wore before.
Nicolas looks nice in his dress but with the tie a very little bit to adult.
Victoria looks fantastic too, the dress is nice but I think it would have been more nice without the bow.
Estelle looks very lovely in that old dress from her mothers childhood. very cute.
Oscar looks very nice, too, beside, the bow is maybe also a little bit to adult for such a little man :-)
