The Spanish Royal Family went for a walk in Palma de Mallorca to say goodbye to the people of Majorca island on the last day of their vacation on the island which lasted for more than a week. After the night walk, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia had dinner at the restaurant 'El txoco de Martin', owned by Martín Berasategui. Every year, the Spanish Royal Family spend some days of the summer on the Spanish island.
Dear Prudence Kaftan
Designers Society Dungarees
The girls have become women this year! Their teenage styles are amazing!
ReplyDeleteJ.
If I had to pick a fav (even though I don't really care much for any of the outfits) it would be the dungarees. Age appropriate and very suitable to Sofia's tall, youthful figure. Letizia's outfit is a bit odd even for a kaftan, but looks much better belted at the waist as she has done.
ReplyDeleteHowever... all three women are appropriately dressed for a casual summer evening out even though their outfits are unremarkable to me.

ReplyDeleteSorry, but the name of the restaurant is "txoko", not "txoco", It is in Basque language, as Martín Berazategui is Basque
DeleteEveryone dressed nicely and appropriately
ReplyDeleteThe King looks great again. Like Leonor's outfit but not a fan of Sofia's dungarees which look like the outfits that clowns wear. The Queen's outfit is one of her rare fails, for me. It's billed as a kaftan, which will be why it has the dressing gown vibe, I expect!! The espadrilles look good on all the ladies.
ReplyDeleteWe've seen so many great photos of the family during their holiday. I really hope they have been able to relax and enjoy some family time after such a tough year.
They obviously had a nice time, good for them!
ReplyDeleteJosh
All very handsome but Leonor is impressive. She is a hottie. She has grown up in two days and she has become quite a lady! Lovely
ReplyDeleteSusana
Hottie is a creepy and inappropriate comment about a 15 year old girl. She is still at the awkward teenage stage. Her parents are trying to raise a well rounded person. " Beauty fades, dumb is forever" Judge Judy.
DeleteM
DeleteHottie?
DeleteDo you really know what it means?
Please, write in your own language.
I just wanted to say that she was gorgeous. Obviously my native language is not French and I do not know what the translator will have put, but of course I have not said anything insulting. The fault in any case will be the translator hahahaha. To my princess Leonor I only say how beautiful she is ... Clarify it because I do not understand the reactions to such a simple comment.
DeleteSusana
For Anonymous13/8/21 09:32I suppose the translation was not correct, but it is perfectly understood that I, a woman, a person who adore the princess will not use any inappropriate term, and if it were so, the administration would not have allowed it. I write regularly, and I would like you to answer me with a name, the same as others, and not under an "anonymous" name
DeleteSusana
@Janelarn: Is it not enough to say that she is pretty? As an adult, why do you adore someone else's kid. Her competences will be far more important than being the next Thylane Blondeau. ..And yes it is creepy to greet her every appearance with adulation of her looks. In a sea of teenagers, no one will be able to pick out a 'princess'.
DeleteM.
For Anónimo16/8/21 19:30; With all due respect, what do you care if I "adore" MY future queen? And of course I prefer her among a lot of other princesses. What is your problem? She respects others, but above all she respects freedom of opinion and thought. I'm going to say the same thing every time, if I think I have to. Why are you angry because I consider my future queen adorable? I think you have the problem.
DeleteEspadrilles very often ruin the whole look ,so many other beautiful shoes .
ReplyDeleteAva
Oh, but we spanish girls and women love our espadrilles so much ... We wear them flat and in vibrant colours when we are little girls and with more or less high wedges and platforms and in more subdued colours that go with anything from our teenage years until we become grandmothers. No other footwear speaks to us more clearly of tradition, summer and holidays than our espadrilles, alpargatas or espardenyes.
DeleteEspadrilles are typical Spanish and I think this comment is disrespectful to Spain ... especially when they are exported to the whole world
DeleteSusan

DeleteIn matters of taste there can be NO disputes
PS. To all comments above.
Ava
It is tiresome, Angie. The same comment appears again and again. I have worn them for as long as I can remember and I am not Spanish. They are fantastic shoes. Susan is correct. They are shipped worldwide, and I would like to personally thank Spain for sharing. ~d
DeleteI like the espadrilles, not only they are confortable but give a wonderful Spanish vibe. Agree with ~d
DeleteI am not Spanish, but I love the espadrilles. I think they look great with any casual outfit, dress, pants, jeans or shorts. I especially like the little black tassels on Letizia's.
DeleteRenee
They all look great - summery and relaxed. I do love Sofia's look and the espadrilles are fab - they always say summer for me.
ReplyDeleteBee
Agree. Espadrilles = summer.
DeleteLove that the girls are showing their personal sense of style. Sofia's style has an ease to it. It's cool and comfortable but still appropriate for the occasion. She seems to prefer pants, rompers and jumpsuits while Leonor is more of a dress girl. Leonor seems to prefer floral prints and feminine details. Her style is pretty and preppy.
E.B.B.
Happy family out and about enjoying their vacation. Everyone looks relaxed and comfortable for their dinner out. Both princesses are teenage-perfect in their outifts. Love that the girls are so fashionable--and both are so pretty. As usual QLet and KFel are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLeonor is divinely beautiful.
@Janelarn, I love espadrilles, in fact I own several pairs and I disagree with the comment that they spoil the look, much to the contrary I think they look fantastic, but disliking them doesn’t mean that you are disrespecting Spain, is just a preference. I don’t like cowboy boots, does that mean that I disrespect my own country?
ReplyDeleteJust a thought .

Well said... Lets not make a storm in a glass of water!
@Mariamar, you must be out of your mind if you think Leonor's skirt is much too short, vulgar and banal.
DeleteAgain: where do you live and in what century?
DeleteMARIAMAR, Stop trolling!! First because your adjectives to describe an outfit are out of line and secondly because you are talking about a minor. Please stop.
ReplyDeleteCherry
I love wearing espadrilles in the summer, and I live nowhere near Spain. They’re just so fresh and casual. Everyone here looks great here. Clearly it’s hot, and they’ve all dressed appropriately in comfortable, easy clothing. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteCome on, everybody!
ReplyDeleteThey are just a family enjoying a relaxed vacation , well deserved, and casually dressed ( and wearing their wonderfull espadrilles!),
Josh
The Queen's accessories:
ReplyDeleteIt seems the blue and red printed bags used by the Queen in 2020 are part of a campaign to help a specific charity and nothing to do with the official craft of Mallorcan artisans. In what is now typical of interactions with her, the artisan society rained complaints. This year the same thing happened but this time a note and a bag was sent to her. The public relations of this group is disaster. How much easier would it have been to send the bag then wait for the positive press like the designers do instead of acting entitled. Smh.
M.
The comments are so predictable! Well, we know that in certain ladies’ view, the queen can never ever wear anything but great outfits. That goes without saying (or reading 🙂). Others really dislike espadrilles. In an official event, I don’t find them appropriate. But the Spanish royals are on vacation, so let’s not judge their outfits as if they were on duty. They look fine (and I do recognize the regional differences- it’s very possible it’s even more appropriate for Spanish ladies).
