  3. Elégante dans cette robe dont la couleur lui convient très bien ; bon choix que ses bijoux tant au niveau des boucles d'oreilles que de la chaîne avec un petit médaillon !

Lovely dress, absolutely excellent hairdo and good earrings! Just one little quibble: The necklace pendant is half showing, half hidden. The choice of the right length fitting the neckline is quite important, if it does not, then the jewelry looks like accidentally not removed when putting on the clothes, instead of enhancing the appearance.

Nice colour, suits her well. I find the cuff on the sleeve not to my liking too much fabric, but it fits with the dress design. Overall a good choice.

It’s a very pretty dress in a colour and shape that suits the Duchess well. My only small quibble is the sleeves. They seem a bit dated now to me. I think the dress would look even nicer if the over long ruffles were removed. No doubt the designer would disagree! (V.M.)

I fully agree with you; believe shorten the sleeves by a couple of inches would already improve the look

Many of us agree that the yellow dress is lovely, but would look so much nicer without the ruffles on the sleeve. Then the dress would have a more chic and clean look about it.

  12. Lovely colour and style of dress. Length just manages to be okay. Think the cuffs stop it from being too plain

The problem with the sleeve ruffles is that they're too big - too much fabric. On the dress that Sophie is wearing, they interfere with the pleats of her skirt and make the whole dress look messy. Also, I don't really like how the sleeves ride up on her elbow area. By comparison, the dress on the model looks quite acceptable. Could Sophie's dress have something to do with wrong sizing? (meaning too big).

I think you draw the right conclusion one size too big. You see eg that the sleeves are much longer than at the model.

I don’t think she has the wrong size but rather that she is differently proportioned from the model - as the majority of women are.

She definitely needs a good taylor or seamstress to shorten her dress and to take away the sleeve ruffles. If she wants to keep the sleeve ruffles because they are not bad at all, her taylor could make the sleeves shorter and keep the ruffles. Now they are covering her hands too much.
