This dress reminds me of a morning gown, which is very fitting for the hospital context. Kind of diplo dressing? Let me admit: this is awful. Small floral patterned shirt dress without any recognizable form and a self belt that does not add anything that deserves to be called design - it leaves me just wondering: why dear beautiful Sophie did this?

Sitting with the child, a lovely pic, I think we see that the colour of the dress is very becoming for Sophie, and fresh and springlike. It seems to be too much material for her but a bit of re-tailoring for a better fit could perfect it. Love her shoes.

I agree, the dress is shapeless, too long and the sleeves are too puffy.

Now this is a lovely dress for Duchess Sophie. A light weight material and Spring color. Perfect length and not too tightly tied around the waist, though I think she’d be better served staying away from tie waist altogether.
    Lowri.

Oh dear. Sophie needed a slip with this dress. I prefer the sleeves on the model. I am assuming she has pushed the elastic on the wrist up the arm to create a 3/4 sleeve. The color are nice.

    What about wearing a slip?

I’m in between the first two comments. On one hand I like this dress a lot: summery, nice shape and fresh print. On the other hand hardly anyone looks really good in these dresses. If you’re young, slim and wear it with a flat sandal it looks good and modern, but for all other women ( and I consider myself among them), these dresses don’t do a lot for you fashionwise.

I like this dress very much, but I feel for her the sleeves should be alittle shorter and not quite as full. I like the length and even the belt. She should of worn a slip so when the sunshine in you don’t see through.

I don’t think this dress flatters D. Sophie. There’s a great deal of volume here which is only partly contained by the tie belt. Then there are the wide sleeves. Why? The model shows elasticated sleeves which bring the volume in. Finally the print. The colours are quite pretty but a tiny print like this always reads as “twee” to me. Once again I feel that a decent stylist would not have chosen this for the duchess. She spends far too much on clothes that are only okay. (V.M.)
