On Monday, April 21, 2025, Princess Isabella turns 18 years old. The birthday celebrations continued in Copenhagen, where Princess Isabella and her family attended a special gala evening on the Old Stage of The Royal Danish Theatre. On April 15, King Frederik, Queen Mary, Queen Margrethe, Prince Christian, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine celebrated the occasion with a special performance.
Queen Anne-Marie, Princess Benedikte, Princess Carina, Prince Gustav, Count Felix, and Count Nikolai, as well as Queen Mary's sisters Patricia and Jane, were also in attendance at the gala performance. The theatre was filled with a young audience, as more than 1,000 people aged 17 to 24 from across the Realm attended the celebration.
Absolutely delightful! And I love Mary's skirt! Happy birthday to Isabella.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love this skirt too. I think it tied in nicely with the silver applique on the back of Isabellas gown.
DeleteBut Josephine wearing the same jumpsuit she wore on her brother's 18th
DeleteA beautiful girl who looks stunning with a gorgeous dress.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful look for each of the RL. Isabella is a delight to see. Love this gown a lot.

Lovely! Everyone is looking so happy and spiffy.

Hello Luna
DeleteYou are right. They are looking happy and spiffy.
And they have every reason to be so.
They are a beautiful family.
Happy birthday to a beautiful, young princess.
I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteHappy 18th birthday to Princess Isabella!!! It is great to see her family come together and join her in this special celebration. She looks absolutely stunning in that dark blue dress.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely flawless.
ReplyDeleteSuch a good-looking family!

Isabella is a beautiful young lady…looks just like her father. Anne Marie and Benedikte are so elegant, just pure class! Love the bright pink of Carina’s dress. Very nice looks on everyone but not too fond of Mary’s skirt.
ReplyDeleteWow! Brilliant dress on Isabella. “Fit for a Princess” was my first thought. Well, yes. She shines and is obviously happy which is the loveliest thing of all. The whole family looks wonderful. Cannot believe how much taller Christian is since last viewing.
ReplyDeleteI adore Q. Mary’s outfit. The skirt is so unusual and fun and combining it with a simple top and adding spectacular jewels makes the overall look just perfect. P. Isabella looks fine, but I do not think that the wide, square neckline flatters her at all. Interesting that the younger daughter has chosen quite a dramatic caped dress. It’s quite a mature look for someone so young yet she carries it off with great confidence. Honourable mention to Princess Carina in the bright pink dress worn with gorgeous pearls. (V.M.)
Paloma.
Princess Josephine is re-wearing the pantsuit she wore to her eldest brother's 18th birthday celebration, She has had it modified with with the black bits you see. When last she wore it she was even younger than she is today. I personally find it appropriate for her age and it suits her well.

Her younger sister is a very pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteLovely and surprisingly very like a Disney Princess. More a ball gown than a gown for the theatre, but maybe we will see portraits of her wearing a tiara?
ReplyDeleteA true Princess moment! The dress is perfect. It looks like Isabella is wearing her mom’s earrings.
ReplyDeleteQM looks sensational, my only tweak would be a silver shoe rather than the black, but other than that, she looks fabulous.
Josephine and both princes also looking fine in their evening wear.
Looking forward to Isabella’s tiara moment. Denmark don’t have the largest tiara collection, so it’ll be interesting to see if the family have purchased a tiara at auction for her,or will they bring a tiara from the vaults that we haven’t seen for a while!
Lowri.
Agree! I totally feel this princessy-moment when you're 18 years old :-) she looks fab, as does the rest of the family.

Beautiful family! Queen Mary looks gorgeous in her outfit!LOVE THE SKIRT! As usual impeccably dressed everyone!
ReplyDeleteLovely family. Princess Isabella looks great. The women in the family are all good looking but the men even more so. Queen Margrethe looks amazing. How lovely for Princess Isabella to have so many of her extended family present
ReplyDeleteI like Isabellas dress.Mary looks good as do her sisters.Margrethe looks lovely that colour suits her.The chaps look daper. The jewels on Mary look good,Happy 18th Isabella(Tara)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Princess Isabella had a choice when the guest list was made up?
DeleteIf so, it was nice to see her two aunts from Australia being invited (Queen Mary’s two sisters, Patricia and Jane.)

ReplyDeleteFrederick in blue to match his girls, Mary in black and white to match her boys. Isabella's dress is a true princess dress and just perfect for a young princess. Josephine is wearing a beautiful jumpsuit that is age appropriate for this gala, which is so difficult to find at her age. It appears to be the same Jesper Høvring jumpsuit she wore for Christian's 18th birthday, with embellishments added.
I am on the fence as to whether P Josephine is in an age appropriate outfit. I feel it is a little bit mature looking for a 14 yr. old, also she is wearing false lashes which many of the young people. Many won’t agree with me but I like alittle less make up because she has a naturally pretty face. I don’t want her to look like a little girl but be young looking as long as you can.
DeleteWow....Princess Isabella beautiful in her gown. She is definitely her father's daughter. Love this family....Mary must be very proud.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I don’t love is QM’s belt. It doesn’t seem necessary with that slim fitting top and the outfit has a lot going on with the flashy (and very fun) skirt as well as the gorgeous jewels.

Isabella's gown is perfect for a princess--almost like a fairy tale princess! She looks so beautiful and I can only imagine her excitement as was dressing for the event--putting on the gorgeous diamond earrings and her gown. Queen Mary looks fabulous (I have always loved this outfit) and I love how everything she is wearing is a repeat--letting her daughter have 100% of the spotlight rather than choose something new that would grab attention. Josephine looks beautiful too--I love she's wearing her formal pantsuit--I feel sure she too was excited to get dressed for the event. So glad to see that Christian was able to join the festivities--he and Vincent look so handsome in their evening wear (wish he had been able to fix his tie but maybe it will become a favorite family joke). King Frederik looks like he is going to burst with pride. It is really wonderful to see extended family join the celebration too. And the big treat is Queen Margrethe (looking so elegant) in her beautiful pink gown to celebrate her oldest granddaughter's big day.

Queen Mary's sisters Patricia and Jane are both handsome women and both look lovely. Bene and Anne look beautiful, very elegant and I love the choice of jewels for both of them. Queen Mary looks beautiful, her ensemble is beautiful, she totally nailed this look. I love her choice of jewelry, stunning, but the brooch is gorgeous!. Josephine looks quite beautiful. Love this deep blue jumpsuit, she looks age appropriate.
ReplyDeleteCarina looks beautiful. Love the pearl necklace.
Isabella looks splendid. The gown is gorgeous, she looks stunning. She reminds me so much of her father.
I remember this Marys skirt:
ReplyDeleteFirst time she was wearing it in New York visit and Isabelle was just born After 18 years is this skirt just georgeos!
Am I right in thinking that Princess Isabella is second in line to the Danish Royal Crown?
ReplyDeleteYes. Until Prince Christian has a kid
DeleteOh, yes. Forgot about that.
DeleteHer ranking could go down if Prince Christian has children.
It's sad that the silver and stone embroidery on the back of the dress isn't shown in the pictures. It gives the dress something special.
ReplyDeleteI agree! That just makes the dress!!
DeleteIt has been now and wow what an embellishment, makes the dress

ReplyDeleteMary and her daughters all look sensational! Josephine takes after her beautiful mother.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous family, Mary, Frederik and their children!
What a beautiful family❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family❤️
ReplyDeleteThe ladies and gents look all fabulous, I love Mary's top and how it perfectly frames that necklace. Exception is (almost always, but here on the family photo the effect is quite clear) who almost always wears too tight jackets, somehow evoking the impression in me that he wants to display breast muscles. Putting his arms behind his back (on other photos, even when putting his hands into his pockets) makes this kind of "display pose" even more striking - and, of course, ruins even a perfect outfit. I don't mind him opening the jacket (as opposed to his sonst), even that is better than this pose.
ReplyDeleteIsabelle takes her chance to be a fairytale princess: beaming.
ReplyDeleteAll ladies very festive and happy.
All men in dinerjacket are smart, hence such a pity the King chose a blue one.
I think the reasoning behind the colour choice with King Fredriks Dinner Suit being in contrast to his son's, Christian + Vincent, was a carefully thought out notion. Fredrik in navy blue allowed him to compliment his two daughters, Isabella + Josephine, who both wore baby/blue. The brothers wire black Suits, which was complimented by their mothers outfit -Queen Mary, in her black top + white skirt. Instead of having Mom the same as the girls + Dad the same as the boys, they swapped over in the parenting mirroring. They all looked stunning. It's a shame Christians bowtie had a mind of its own, lopsided.
DeleteThe Embellishment on Isabella's dress looks gorgeous! I'd love to see more detail! I'm not a big fan of Mary's look but she can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned - always lovely!
ReplyDeleteThere has been mention that she was to receive a special gift. Any word on what this is? I thought it was going to be her very own tiara and that it would be worn to this event but that's obviously not the case. So what is the special gift?
ReplyDeleteHer gift was the official Danish Royal signature : The Order of the Elephant. The highest Order in Danish Royalty. An elephant carved out as a brooch, attached to a ribbon. It is worn on a specific sash of pinned on a dress. Given her actual Birthday is April 21st it's anticipated she will receive it then + have her Portrait with it on. As a token gift she wore her mother's diamond earrings
DeletePrincess Isabella is a beautiful Princess. The dress is beautiful but, she should have asked for a different neckline. This neckline is making her broader than she is in reality. Princess Josephine is looking good in this young outfit of pants, top and cape. Queen Mary could have worn a top in the color of her skirt, but this top is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteIsabella's dress is girly and a great for her 18th birthday party. Josephine's jumpsuit is a smart choice for an evening party outfit for someone her age. Mary's outfit is gorgeous. The playful sequin skirt and black top are a perfect match. Someone said that Mary would have had the outfit the year Isabella was born. If so, the choice is particularly wonderful. -Siri
ReplyDeleteRoyal chicky.
ReplyDeleteI really like how all these Royals came together to celebrate Princess Isabella!
ReplyDeleteShe was the Belle of the Ball , her ballgiwn looked terrific.
Glitzy, sleek and eye- catching.
The shimmering details on the back of her gown is an interesting addition.
Like her smokey blue eye makeup and her updo.
She has marvellous magnetic blue eyes.
Her parents were again rightly proud of her.
Mum gave her those marvellous earrings as a gift.
The Queen looked fabulous, I particularly like the long silver coloured skirt made of sequined fringes (from what I can see).
This skirt is to die for and I like the way It was teamed with the black top and black pumps.
Princess Josephine looks equally gorgeous.
I read that her jumpsuit had sequined sleeves.
And...I can see she removed her coral coloured stick - on gel nails (lol) and favoured what looks like a more classic French manicure.
What a pleasure to see Prince Christian on his leave from his military training as well as Count Nicolai and Count Felix!
All the younger royals gentlemen and the King look dapoer and groomed to perfection.
I have a soft spot for Queen Margrethe, so lovely in her berry/ purple gown.
Her sisters looked equally sleek as did Princess Carina and Queen Mary's sisters
I am glad that Patricia and Jane were in attendance and I hope all of them will be able to spend the Easter holiday together.
Isabella's celebration " tour" held in Copenhagen this time was a really glamorous event.
I'm looking forward to seeing the final celebration "act" on 21st April , when Isabella's birthday falls.
