On Tuesday afternoon, April 22, Queen Máxima attended the official opening of the exhibition ‘Above Ground – 25 Years of Archaeological Discoveries’ at the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities (Rijksmuseum van Oudheden) in Leiden. Following the opening, Queen Máxima visited the exhibition and received a guided tour.
The ‘Above Ground – 25 Years of Archaeological Discoveries’ exhibition showcases a wide range of archaeological discoveries from the period 2000–2025. The exhibition not only highlights the finds themselves, but also the diverse group of discoverers — from government agencies and archaeological firms to detectorists and volunteers.
The National Museum of Antiquities is the national center for archaeology. It is one of the five oldest museums in the Netherlands and houses a national collection of over 240,000 archaeological objects from ancient Egypt and the Near East, the Greek and Roman worlds, and early Dutch history.
I love this skirt that Maxima has worn before. It really looks as if the designer put a lot of craftmanship in this skirt. Hat and shoes lovely but my oh my this really strange blouse with these asymmetrical sleeves.
ReplyDeleteLike it all except the weird right sleeve of the blouse. It looks like a piece of fabric was just tucked into the collar. Love the ribbon skirt it balances the large rim hat.
ReplyDeleteUnusual blouse but I like the color on Queen Maxima! The skirt, hat, shoes and jewelry are all great. Very pretty daytime look.
ReplyDeleteHow many blouses in this khaki colour with very strange necklines does she own? I love the skirt and of course her smile, but not the blouse. LRB
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit and I love the hat.

I think this is a beautiful, versatile skirt that fits Q. Max very well. I prefer it with the paler gold blouse from a prior outing. This one with its awkward shaped sleeve just competes with statement skirt. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning look on QM! She looks radiant! MR
