On the afternoon of Friday, April 4, 2025, Queen Máxima attended the INSEAD Alumni Forum at Passenger Terminal in Amsterdam. The event’s theme was ‘Lead with Integrity, Shape the Future Now!’. Following the official opening, the Queen took part in a fireside chat with Professor Mark Stabile, Dean of the INSEAD Europe Campus, about financial health.
This year’s INSEAD Alumni Forum focuses on four themes that represent the most pressing global challenges of this century: managing climate risk and water resources, feeding the world responsibly, innovating tech for a complex world, and leading towards a fair and safe society. As the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health, Queen Máxima is working worldwide to promote financial health.
For the event, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands wore a new moss-green outfit. The top is pleated at the neckline, and the trousers have wide legs. The outfit comes from the Belgian fashion house Natan.
I’m not sure it’s the best fitting garment…it looks a bit bunched up around the hips to me. The earrings are very striking but unfortunately her hair competes with them. (V.M.)

ReplyDeleteIt is not an easy colour to wear, but QM has the complexion for it. Love the earrings. I am guessing the royal is going through her closet to rewear which is quite the feat juggling outfits. Overall looks okay.

ReplyDeleteI mostly don’t understand the appeal of Natan clothes designs. This outfit for me is like a fashion school 2nd year project where the teacher says I see the direction you’re going, but not quite there yet, and I’ve had to deduct a further 20% for choosing a colour which is not at all marketable.

I like the idea of the neckline, its different. But not so sure of the fit of this ensemble. The color is a difficult one to wear, I'm not really fond of this shade. The earrings are pretty.

For me shoes and earrings are ok or even nice, I don't like the color, above all surely not for Spring, and the design gets a no.
ReplyDeleteMary T, c'est bizarre de dire que cette couleur ne va surtout pas pour le printemps, et aussi anonyme 4/4 à 21 : 36 dit que c'est une couleur d'automne. Je ne comprends pas trop vos avis car le vert est justement une couleur très printanière, c'est le renouveau de la verdure, et c'est ce même vert un peu anis qu'on voit actuellement sur les premières feuilles des saules et des peupliers.
DeleteLes couleurs d'automne, pour moi, ne sont pas du tout les divers tons de vert, mais plutôt toutes les teintes de brun, ocre, rouille, beige, mordoré, potiron, grenat... bref : aux couleurs des dernières feuilles.
Mon propos n'est pas agressif mais j'ai un peu de mal à comprendre.

Hello Paloma, well my answer is that I don't see it as green ! but more as a mix of green and ... beige or mustard. If it were in a lighter tone, I would probably see it in a different way. Thanks for giving your opinion and sharing views.
DeleteI agree with Paloma. I think the problem here is that the typical commenter here is older and very set in their ways in terms of fashion. It is very rare to see positive comments on anything that is out of their idea of what is fashionable or "correct". Shifting perspective from what we would personally wear to understanding that some women do wear the latest fashions and are not afraid to try new things is the problem. There are so many old fashioned ideas expressed on this blog that haven't been part of current fashion trends for decades, yet the people commenting can't understand that fashion, and so called "fashion rules", have changed. Being here could be used as a learning experience instead of a place to dislike what is out of our personal comfort zone. All that being said, Natan obviously has appeal to some women or Natan would not still exist. Styles vary from country to country. Not all countries are as fashion forward as the French, for example. It doesn't make it wrong, just different. I am always going to admire Maxima for being willing to be more adventurous with her fashion because she is more interesting to watch. She may not always be successful, but she is not boring.
DeletePaloma where I live we only see this colour in a poisonous autumn fungi. It is not the green of spring, but a mustard of autumn in our nature. I don’t see it as a spring colour. That said, I don’t think people should dress for “seasonal” colours necessarily as much as what suits them and what they like. Personally, I don’t like this colour at all - but still find Maxima beautiful in it.

Does anybody know if Maxima and Mathilde actually get paid for wearing Natan outfits? There must be a reason otherwise I don’t understand why they would wear their clothes. Sorry to ask but I am relatively new on this site.
ReplyDeleteA miss from my perspective. Hair, the usual mess, though she did run a brush through it once. Not a fan of seeing hair extension roots, so to speak. The colour is nauseating and overwhelms her. The material of the outfit does not lend itself to a good look, very odd neckline. The earrings are nice.
