On April 6, 2025, Queen Mary of Denmark visited Skørping in North Jutland to inaugurate the new REGAN Vest Trail at the Rebild Centre. The trail now features a suspension bridge that connects the Cold War Museum REGAN Vest, the Rebild Centre, and the natural surroundings of Rebild Hills. The Cold War Museum opened to the public in 2023.
The trail was developed by the Danish Nature Agency in collaboration with the Rebild Centre, Rebild Municipality, and North Jutland Museums, which operates the Cold War Museum REGAN Vest. REGAN Vest (Government Facility Western Denmark) is a 5,500 m² nuclear-proof bunker, secretly constructed between 1963 and 1968 to house the Danish government and monarch in the event of a nuclear war.
She does casual well. I am thinking she is a bit too casual unless she was gojng on a trek. The reason I say this is how the lady in the magenta coat seems more dressed up than the queen. Just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Too casual. I can't think of a good reason why a queen would dress so casually for an inauguration ceremony. But she is a beautiful woman and of course she looks good even dressed casually.
DeleteSingling out one person who is probably overdressed (because she plays some official role) to try and prove your point that Mary is underdressed is not logical. Look at the rest of the people there. The rest of the crowd is wearing outdoor clothing and hiking boots with the exception of the mother with her child. It looks like she wanted to look a little nicer because her little boy was presenting flowers to Mary. What else is Mary supposed to wear while walking on a trail through a wooded area and over the suspension bridge?
Delete@17:27 All the other people around Mary are quite casual, as is Mary herself; yet you single out the one person who dressed up a bit to compare her to Mary? ~~Ruthie

DeleteI'm pretty sure you do not know Denmark and its landscapes.
Queen Mary is perfectly attired for what she was set to do in the pics and the type of engagement( read the caption, please).
Also, I think she was doing elegantly casual very well and fit appropriately in the surroundings.
Given you emphasize so much the lady in the magenta coat, she seemed to be the odd man out, actually, not Mary.
I bet no one would ever head off to the woods or to any other natural setting in Denmark wearing a stylish coat.
This is North Jutland, not Saint Tropez.
You might want to Google North Jutland to have a clearer view of what I'm talking about.
On a geographical note, North Jutland is incredibily interesting as it comprises very different and sometimes even jarring landscape types and features.
DeleteThere's a lot to see there, including wood tracks, fjords and breathtaking sea places like Grenen (where two seas melt together in one and it's such a windy and wild location!)) and Skagen.
You have to be extremely well rugged up if you want to see this natural phenomena unless it's an unusual summer mild day or you are a person used to practice nautical sports or physical activity even in low temperatures.
Queen Mary's engagement took place in some suggestive wood areas.
Mary ser bra ut i sin gubbkeps!
ReplyDeleteCe style décontracté lui convient sauf peut-être la casquette que j'aurais bien vue dans une couleur unie comme en bleu-marine ou même Bordeaux !
ReplyDeleteDear Anon 12:27, she cannot make herself ridiculous by over- or underdressing because there is a remote possibility that someone made a slightly inappropriate or simply different choice? Main thing is she herself chose well, what she did in this case, for the opening of a trail in natural surroundings.
ReplyDeleteI would say too that throughout the ages, what the queen wears sets the tone, and not vice versa. A queen of a country can never be too under or over dressed … it’s the others around her who might find themselves so! In this case, outdoor hiking trail event with an outdoor hiking Mary is perfect.
DeleteI respectfully disagree. It is okay to be casual and she is well dressed but the way the monarch dresses elevates the occasion. Imo
DeleteAgreed.

She does casual well and this outfit looks great. Love her cap!
ReplyDeleteI like the hat and check shirt. The make up looks good;nice and casual(Tara)
ReplyDeleteJust no
ReplyDeleteQM too casual🤣?
ReplyDeleteTaking a 5 km walk in the forest what should QM wear then?
Hugh heels by Valentino?
Even danish minister is wearing hiking boots.
For my taste the pattern of the Cap and the pattern of the Shirt do Not Match. I would have liked one of of the pieces in a single colour.
ReplyDeleteI had a little chuckle at the several comments here wanting Mary to be dressed a lot fancier for a bushwalk. Perhaps a little too much fairytale belief regarding what a queen should look like.. versus the reality of her being: a human.
ReplyDeleteMary borrowed her husband´s cup!
