Queen Margrethe of Denmark celebrated her 85th birthday with her family at Fredensborg Palace. Among those present were King Frederik, Queen Mary, Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine, Queen Anne-Marie, Princess Benedikte, Count Nikolai of Monpezat, and Count Felix of Monpezat.
Queen Margrethe and her family attended a birthday concert by the Royal Life Guards Band in the Inner Courtyard of the palace. Queen Margrethe greeted the crowd that had gathered there to celebrate her birthday, along with her family. After the concert, King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a luncheon at the palace.
Zimmermann Kaleidoscope Button Blouse
Dolce & Gabbana Floral Print Dress
Josephine is wearing mothers dress; that really shows how slim Mary is.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Josephine's jacket. I have a particular dislike of random blazers being worn over dresses. I understand the reasoning is to elevate a dress into a more formal look, but they usually look out of place. I would rather see a suit worn.
DeleteQ. Mary’s blouse is very interesting and I’d love to see it worn with lighter coloured trousers. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI don't see Joachim and Mary???
ReplyDeleteThey were not there.
DeleteEveryone looks so festive for this joyous occasion but it is disappointing that Prince Joachim could not be there.
DeleteWhy do Joachim & Marie have to be there? ~~Ruthie
Delete"Why do Joachim & Marie have to be there? ~~Ruthie"
DeleteBecause it's his mom's birthday. If physically and financially able - and not estranged - most son's show up for their mom's birthdays.
It was lovely to see HM surrounded by her family on her birthday. She looked lovely in the chequered skirt and jacket.
ReplyDeleteIt’s lovely that Queen Mary is instilling fashion sustainability in her children. Josephine looks pretty in her mom’s dress.
Lowri.
Queen Mary's, Zimmerman blouse is beautiful, I love this! Her pants look good. HM looks healthy and well, so lovely to see. The chequered skirt and lovely co ordinating jacket looks smart and stylish, beautiful ensemble. P. Josephine looks lovely in her mums dress, I love recycling. The jacket combines well. The Princess look well groomed and smart in their suits as does Count Nicolas and Félix.
ReplyDeleteA very happy 85th Birthday to Q Margrethe, she looks great. Nice outfit too. I see Josephine is borrowing dresses from mom, great fit and lovely dress. Everyone looking good.

J’adore le chemisier de Mary et elle le porte å merveille.
ReplyDeletePrincess Josephine in her mother's dress and lovely jacket looks very elegant. Love Queen Mary's blouse teamed with the black trousers.
ReplyDeleteEveryone else looked good as well, and it was wonderful to see Anne-Marie and Benedikte also there. Missed seeing Joachim and Marie.
Crown Prince Christian has become even more handsome since the last time we saw him. HM has very handsome grandchildren.

Yes, I agree, prince Christian has become a very handsome young man. A few years ago he was quite a bit overweight and as soon as had mententioned that fact, a hell of evil criticism broke out on me. "How dare you..? Bodyshaming etc." were the cries - as if I had said that to Christian directly. I never would. But he has lost weight and he is looking great and so respectful towards his grandmother.
DeleteAnother family gathering, love it!
Paloma.
