As part of his regular visits to territories historically linked to his family, Prince Albert II of Monaco, accompanied by Princess Caroline of Hanover, visited the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region of northeastern France on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25.
On Thursday, April 24, the Prince and Princess began their visit at the Ardenne Museum in Charleville-Mézières. They then toured the Rimbaud Museum. In the afternoon, they received a briefing on the restoration of the former Cordeliers Convent, a project currently being undertaken by the Departmental Council.
On Friday, April 25, the Prince and Princess visited Rethel, the final stop of their journey in the Ardennes. Rethel is a commune in the Ardennes department in northern France. It is a sub-prefecture and the third most important city and economic center in the department.
