On April 9, King Charles and Queen Camilla will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. Ahead of this milestone, new official portraits of the royal couple have been released. The photos were taken by Royal Photographer Chris Jackson in the grounds of Villa Wolkonsky in Rome, the official residence of the UK's Ambassador to Italy, Lord Llewellyn.
For the special photoshoot, Queen Camilla wore a white and beige coat dress by Anna Valentine, which she paired with a Lily of the Valley brooch. On April 9, Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella will host a state banquet at the Quirinale Palace in honor of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s 20th wedding anniversary.
Beautiful photo’s !!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. They look so happy together
DeleteWhat can one say?
DeleteWhish them many more happy and healthy years!
Delightful photos. Camilla’s hair suits her particularly well here (no need to chop it shorter, curl it under, etc - it’s her own style for her that she’s enjoyed for many years, but particularly flattering to her face in these pics) - Mary
ReplyDeletemarried 20 years but he has loved her for over 58 years, soulmates.
ReplyDeleteWhile I wish them the best, this isn't the kindest of comments. It is one thing to celebrate their anniversary and marriage; but another to celebrate the overlap with both of their first marriages. It trivializes the hurt they have caused many people in order to be together, including both of Diana's sons. Time heals, but comments like these throw salt on an otherwise lovely occasion.
DeleteSo, I will focus on wishing them a happy 20th anniversary. These are lovely photos and they both look nice and happy. It looks like she's going for "bridal" white, fashion-wise.
Anon14:09, I find Anon10:49’s comment quite innocently kind. And I agree, despite all the pain and suffering of the marriages in between, a long soul mate relationship is nevertheless special.
DeletePrincess Diana forever!
ReplyDeleteI knew that someone would mention that...
Delete11:43 eye roll
DeleteWhile this is a comment that didn't need to be made, I can understand it. There was a lot of bad behavior from them and others. Two families were broken up, children were hurt, and two spouses were abandoned. If Charles' had been allowed to make his own choices, without interference from his parents, this would be a much happier story. Diana was beloved, and unloved. It is not a stretch to say that she would probably still be alive today if everyone had done what was right in the first place. I am sure Charles and Camilla knew the fondness for Diana would always be a constant throughout their marriage. I'm glad they are happy, but no one is going to forget Diana, especially at times like this.
DeleteGood grief! Diana was no saint either. I acknowledge her genuine caring about people, doing charity work, being a humanitarian on many levels, but she also knew how to create drama. It might have been justified on many matters, yes, but there were a lot of unnecessary hiccups as well. Before someone asks - I remember her untimely death very well, and I was in tears, oh yes. But there is no need of glorifying her and vilifying Charles and Camilla. They all had their fair share in that unpleasant situation back in the day. I wish King Charles and Queen Camilla a very happy wedding anniversary.
DeletePlease let the dear soul RIP
DeleteThere is much I could say but I won't
DeleteI do agree with@ Anonymous 16:04.
My admiration for Princess Diana will never end.
All I had to say was written in a note I left on Kensington Palace gate.
I remember every single word I wrote in that note and also that flood of flowers and cards all around me are still impressed in my memory.
And yes, I am not afraid to say that I cried heartfelt tears in front of that gate, just like hundreds or thousands of other people there.
It still gives me goosebumps.
I do not know for how long I stood in front of that gate crying like a child because all seemed so out of time and maybe of any logical reason .
I am pretty tough but I felt smitten and overwhelmed by my mixed feelings on that almost unreal occasion.
There seemed to be all the features Greek tragedies are made up of.
However, I wish Charles and Camilla all the best and a complete recovery to His Majesty
I think this is absolutely the hardest comment I have ever posted on Newmyroyals.
@11:43 Oh please, let's get over it; Diana was no saint either. What happened, happened; I remember those awful days very well. It is what it is. However, all the best to Charles & Camilla, who were meant to be together.
DeleteI recall how all the mugs & dishes were made with their wedding date imprinted, but they had to delay their wedding a day due Charles attending the funeral of John Paul II.

A happy couple in love, pretty 'lily of the valley' brooch!
ReplyDeleteAgree, her signature look with a lovely brooch.
DeleteLovely photos, they look very happy. Helena
ReplyDeleteTwenty years? Already? He has been in love with Camilla since his youth. He just wasn't allowed to marry her because of some outdated Victorian standard. I'm glad he is happy, but I still prefer Diana as Queen
ReplyDeleteCette robe blanche est très jolie, simple et sans chichis. La simplicité est souvent synonyme d'élégance. Le 3e photo est belle. Paloma.
ReplyDeleteThey have been in love forever and I find very sweet to see them in love after so many years.
ReplyDeleteMay they enjoy their anniversary and many more to come!
Luna
My words...Agree totally...May GOD bless both!!!
DeleteThere is nothing wrong with my comment. I said I'm glad he is happy and he has loved Camilla since his youth, but was forbidden to marry her. That is the truth, everyone knows that. And no.matter what how long they are married, I will always prefer Diana, I'm not the only person who feels that way, but I am glad he is happily married to the woman he truly.wanted to be with
ReplyDeleteLooks in love like teenagers! Nice to see such warm photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
