King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are on a two-day state visit to Cyprus. On the second day of their visit, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, accompanied by President Nikos Christodoulides and First Lady Philippa Karsera, visited Nicosia Town Hall. The King and Queen were welcomed by the Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos. They also visited the UN-controlled buffer zone in Nicosia.

Later, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visited Choirokoitia, a Neolithic settlement that consists not only of archaeological excavations but also of a number of reconstructed cylindrical dwellings characteristic of the period. For many years, Leiden University has collaborated with Cyprus on archaeology and cultural heritage.

OK, it's a State visit, but Maxima's dress is too classic. Irene

  3. Merveilleuse Maxima dans cette superbe robe mais pourquoi la porte t-elle avec ce chapeau qui donne te un look trop habillé ; si je me rappelle bien, elle arbore une broche qu'elle avait eue lors d'un séjour en Grèce ?!

Boy can she pull off these hats well. Nice colour and fit of dress. I feel a better undergarment to avoid sagging on a tight bodice. Her choice of lower heels still compliments her overall look.

    1. I agree with your first two sentences but can see no sagging or problem with her undergarments. To me, the dress looks to fit perfectly. She also wore her usual elegant heels and changed into the low heeled ones when she went onto the archaeological site. Looks windy so well done for keeping the hat on. Love the second last photo where she's smiling at the King

I wish she had worn a different color, as much as I like this color on her. This is the third time on this trip she is in this tone. I am not bothered by her hat because it is strongly associated with her trademark look and she wears it well. It is also an easy way to contain her hair when she is outside in the wind. Wise of her to change her shoes during the tour of the dwellings.

On the first picture Queen Maxima wears still her high heels on pictures 7 & 8 she is wearing lower heels. Her dress is a rewear and she wore it on other state visits in the past but it is excellent for the occasion. I think she wore the hat to protect her hairdo from the wind. The president's wife is wearing too wide trousers. Her light blue suit would have been more beautiful with regular or tighter pants. Her make up and hair were beautiful on the state banquet. During the day she looks less good. A perfect example of what difference good styling, make-up and hair style can do.

I think Queen Maxima looks lovely. I especially enjoy what seems to be a genuine friendship with her husband, the King. We've seen this many times over the years. They really seem to get along and enjoy each other's company. Not that other royal couples don't; there's just something special about these two, in my opinion.

  14. I like everything! But indeed I'm surprised that she had chosen dark, wintery colors for begging of March. Nevertheless they suit her well!

    ブローチを付ける位置を決めるのはなかなか難しいものです。
    どの国でも、王室の女性たちはいつも見栄えのする位置に上手につけていますね。

This crimson dress is a work of art.
I love everything, particularly the side draping and train.
I'm a fan of side drapings and trains , actually.
Her figure is statuesque , just what is needed to make this dress shine.
    Amazing pumps and clutch.too.
The hat looks to be a well pairing re- wear .
The way the reigning couple look at each other in pic 8 is priceless.

    1. P. the original. You summed it up nicely, I don't need to add a thing! I do love the floral scarf, adding a splash of color. Doesn't she look amazing!. She has the statuesque figure to really look fabulous. Well said P. the original. Hugs

Le bourgogne ou encore bordeaux, une couleur que j’affectionne particulièrement. Toujours très seyante en mon sens.

La robe est simple. Mais semble peut-être étriquée au niveau du buste ?
