Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine are in the Vatican to attend the AI and Child Protection Summit. The two-day high-level meeting is jointly organized by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the World Childhood Foundation, and the Pontifical Gregorian University's Institute of Anthropology (IADC). The event is taking place at Casina Pio IV.
This high-level meeting aims to bring together representatives from the tech industry, faith-based institutions, academia, civil society, children, young people, and survivors of abuse to address the urgent issue of the safe and ethical use of AI for children’s well-being. Childhood Sweden is represented by a seven-member delegation.

Madeleine needs a haircut!
ReplyDeleteWhy ? She has great hair !
DeleteNo, she doesn't.
DeleteWell said yes she has lovely hair but definitely would look stunning with chin to shoulder length and no longer so it can frame your face and give you much more style, even if it’s chin or jaw length you can still tie it up in a lovely bun. Period.
DeleteBut are you jealous of her hair? It has become a problem in this blog. Stop it! Irene
DeleteShe makes the choice about her hair ! But I am rather disappointed about her choice of black for this outfit.
DeleteI think she's channeling her inner Rapunzel—who needs a haircut when you’ve got that hair to work with?
DeleteIrene, Why does commenting on hair length or style mean you are jealous? You can also believe that a woman has lovely hair but would look better if it was shorter.
DeleteNo she doesn't. :-) She has lovely and healthy hair and she looks good in it. It would be boring if we all had our hair at the same length... :-)
Delete-B.
The queen in one of her classic ensembles: always stylish and elegant; Madeleine: black, too dark for springtime.
ReplyDelete“Too dark for springtime” isn’t culturally correct. In Europe these sorts of rules don’t apply. Black is always elegant.
Delete@ 03:05
DeleteOh yes in Europe this sort of rules do apply. It is ridiculous to arrive at a congres, a meeting, etc... dressed all in black. She can wear black but with a white jacket, or a white blouse and a black skirt or black pants with a contrasting jacket in a lovely spring color. For an evening gala black can be worn always. Since it is no visit to the pope she doesn't have to wear black either. Queen Silvia knows what to wear. Her Chanel look-a-like ensembles and shoes became a sort of uniform, which can be worn on most occasions. I think Madeleine has chosen to wear black, because she thought it must be worn in Vatican city, whiwh is not.
Black can actually be perfect for spring—especially when the weather’s unpredictable! It’s a classic that never goes out of style, no matter the season.
DeleteWell said Anon 3:05! Although dress codes have relaxed some when visiting Vatican city, there is still a dress code and many still choose to wear conservative black attire even when it is not a papal audience. She is not the only woman in black.
Delete@ 13:42
DeleteWhy does her mother queen Silvia does not wear black ? Because she knows the rules probably better. It is pope Francis himself who changed the rules now the female staff of pope Francis except for the nuns can wear their civil outfits and do not have to wear black. Of course they must be descent. During summer they can wear cotton dresses with short sleeves and sandals if it is too hot. Pope Benedictus on the contrary liked to return to the eldest rules.
@Anon 16:31 It doesn't have anything to do with "rules". Black is never a bad idea when visiting the Vatican, in this official capacity, but it is not expected. Madeleine is not "wrong", Silvia is not "right". They each made the choice they wanted to make for themselves and the situation. Both are dressed respectfully and appropriately.
Delete@Anon 12:41: "It is ridiculous to arrive at a congres, a meeting, etc... dressed all in black. " Who says so? there is nothing inappropriate in wearing black for the Vatican. What can really be sometimes ridiculous are statements made with such a gravitas but lacking any substance.
DeleteAgree with 22.57 It’s interesting you mention that, as black is often seen as a formal and respectful color, especially in contexts like the Vatican. The idea that something is "ridiculous" because of attire seems subjective, and, as you rightly pointed out, the substance of one's words or actions is what truly matters. It’s always better to focus on the message rather than nitpicking external appearances.
DeleteAnonymous 22:57
DeleteEntirely agreed.
Comments lacking substance are hilariious , to say the least, irrispective of the poster which generates them.
I just want to add something about Madeleine's hair.
There are hords of women any age with long/ very long hair all around the world.
I have first hand experience in Sweden and other nordic countries where I have always noticed a tendency/ preference among women to wear their hair usually long and well cared for.
I mean naturally long hair, beautiful natural manes, very often in natural fair tones.
Nordic women are almost always tall and quite attractive , too.
It seems Anonymous at all times has never toured Scandì countries, otherwise she wouldn't be questioning those quite normal approaches to hair styles and easy going, relaxed outfits , which are the norm and not the exception in the above mentioned countries.
My questions are: what impact might all this have on Anonymous at all times, if she happened to meet these statuesque women in person?
Would she feel offended at every step by Scandì women's height, blatant beauty, sartorial choices and very long hair?
Would she scold all women in the street, if she felt they did not live up to her most strange and biased " opinions"?
Now, this really makes me crack up.
That's Indeed my idea of a ridiculous approach to reality!
And... what she would do, if she happened to meet me in person as I share some of these traits with nordic women?😂
@ Anonymous 12:41
DeleteMay I humbly ask you what do you mean by " Europe" and as opposed to what?
I get the feeling you never toured neither Europe nor any other continent, so I can't validate your words as making some sense whatsoever.
If you had really toured a bit of " Europe" , you would have seen incredibile differences amongst it's single countries and their respective populations.
I've never heard any tourist/ passenger talking like that about a Continent as a whole, the more so in relation to sartorial choices and " rules".
It seems logical that no one would ever participating in a high- level meeting at the Vatican as if they were going shopping.
I think that a reasonable degree of formality is expected
Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine fully respected some basic requirements, no matter the colour/s they chose to wear.
My comments:
Delete13:59
* this really cracks me up
* what would she do
16:09
* would ever be participating
I would of liked some colour on P Madeline, like a scarf or pin, to break up the black as it is not a pontifical visit. The queen looks lovely in her suit
ReplyDeleteShe does.
DeleteJ'aime beaucoup cet ensemble dans des tons très doux ; ses chaussures blanches/noires auraient mieux convenu !
ReplyDeleteThe queen looks very well, classical look and very hers. I wish Madeleine wears something of colour and more spring-wise. After all she is not visiting the Pope!
ReplyDeleteNot visiting the pope
DeleteScholars of AI (artificial intelligence) along with child development professionals are looking forward at achieving the degree of success they set out to achieve at this Hi-Level Summit being held at the "Vatican City" (Vatican City is a nation). The Summit will take place at the 'Pontifical Academy of Science' which is called: "Casina Pio IV" is a villa in the Vatican City Nation. Casina Pio IV (or Villa Pia) is a patrician villa in the nation of Vatican City which is now home to the 'Pontifical Academy of Sciences,'

DeleteNo it should not be removed. I like some additional information about the place and the environment were the Summit takes place.
Queen Silvia looks lovely in this suit, love the color and fit, perfect. The blouse is feminine, she looks well groomed and attired. Madeleine looks lovely as well, but her outfit, strikes me as on the bland side.
ReplyDeletePr M, always so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSilvia's favourite suit? She wears it so often!
ReplyDeleteMadeleine needs to change her dull haircolour!
ReplyDeleteIf Princess Madeleine’s hair is the biggest thing you can criticize, maybe it's time to focus on something a bit more important. She's owning her look, and that's more than most can say.
DeleteMadeleine has dressed as a non. She can do better.
ReplyDeletePrincess Madeleine is clearly doing better than anyone leaving negative comments here. She’s living her life with grace and confidence, while some are just hiding behind keyboards. Let’s all aim for a little more class!
DeleteQ Silvia always elegant and stylish. Love Madeleines outfit very classy. Great choice from both ladies.

I just can't get it straight .
ReplyDeleteWhy all this fuss about Pss Madeleine's outfit and hair?
I can't spot any fault whatsoever in them.
Her ensemble has the right demure elegance requested for a visit to the Vatican.
Her hair are beyond gorgeous as always.
It is understood that If ever Pss Madeleine should decide to make a change in her hair style, that would be only her personal decision and preference.
No way It might be based on other people's tastes and unwanted suggestions
She can do what she pleases most with her own hair.
Q.Silvia is equally well groomed and attired.
Oh and...
ReplyDeleteOftentimes nordic women are taller than men (who are quite tall indeed).
Now, I'm going to accept suggestions as to cope with this "issue", something like a ...modest proposal, perhaps?😂
