On March 17, 2025, Queen Mathilde attended a singing workshop at the Royal Theatre of La Monnaie in Brussels as part of the initiative 'A Bridge Between Two Worlds.' This intergenerational workshop, dedicated to French chanson, brought together around thirty participants facing vulnerable circumstances or dealing with physical or mental health challenges, along with 17 children from Tivoli Primary School.
The workshop was conducted under the direction of a choir conductor and accompanied by a pianist. Belgium's Queen Mathilde attended one of their rehearsals and later engaged in conversations with the participants.
In 1998, all the opera house’s workshops and rehearsal spaces, which had been scattered throughout the city, were brought together in a building near La Monnaie. The Malibran Room, named after the celebrated diva who lived in Brussels in the 1820s, is one of the main rehearsal spaces where full scenes are practiced.
A very busy lady. Nice to see her. Not a fan of the jackets color, but the garment itself is alright.

Couleur moutarde et grise sont idéalement combinées jusque dans les chaussures !
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to like the colour mustard on anyone but this outfit is as good as it gets. Lovely Queen Mathilde. She looks like she's really enjoying herself
ReplyDeleteShe wears the mustard colour well. The outfit is quite nice. She has marvellous work ethic. She is a great support network to the King.
ReplyDeleteNot my favourite outfit.
ReplyDeleteMine neither ! A difficult color to wear, but she does it well however.
DeleteThe top, earrings and pants work well. I like the colour of the jacket but the design leads to an oddly proportioned profile. Again, I'd like to see QM With more contemporary shoes. I think she's too young for these old skool stilettos all the time. Hair and makeup are nice
ReplyDeleteOld skool stiletto's ? Queen Mary wears also old skool stiletto's then ? No she can wear what she likes. Occasionally a comment. If Queen Letizia had no problems with her feet, she would continue to wear her high stilettos too. Princess Catherine continues to wear her high stilettos too. Never heard any comment. Queen Maxima also wears high stilettos when she is at work. etc... Most of these ladies also wear sneakers, espadrilles or wedges, sandals, loafers ...... depending on the county were they spend free time or even when they are visiting on behalf of the UN. On state visits Queen Mathilde always when she has to change her stilettos wears a pair of ballerinas, when walking on rough ground, rocks, etc.... It is odd since Queen Letizia started to wear flats or kitten heels, every other royal lady has been recommended by the bloggers to wear flat shoes too. Why ? Nobody has the same needs or the same feet. Everybody is free to wear what they want.
DeleteAgree with your comment EBeth! I’d love to see her wear a greater variety of shoe styles too! On the other hand, I guess the stilettos may be a “uniform” of sorts for public appearances. - Mary
DeleteI agree with EBeth, these sky high stilettos are old style and hopefully they are soon on their way out. I can not understand why Women still go for this un-natural, painful looking footware, it is neither elegant nor good looking, just painful to look at.
DeleteAnd why very tall women want to look even taller, it beat's me! Lower, thicker heels look so much better and not painful.
Stylish as ever in nice colour combination
ReplyDeletetotally boring, she just rolled out of bed? she always comes across as rather artificial, but maybe behind that facade she is sincere.
ReplyDeleteI wonder where you take it from that she might be looking as rolling out of bed ?? Hair is ok, outfit outfit not to everyone's taste but surely does not justify your comment, so what ?
DeleteHonestly, I'm iffy about this colour combo, mustard and grey.
ReplyDeleteI mean, they are good colours if taken separately but I wouldn't have paired them together like this.
Other than that, Q.Mathilde looks fabulous.
I like her soft and feminine hair style.
Queen Mathilde wore this combination for the first time in, 2019. Since then she rewears it every winter. Today she is wearing golden earrings by Annick Tapernoux.
ReplyDeleteI read already several times on this blog that the colors "mustard" or "curry" and different shades of green are not appreciated by several bloggers. It is not only when Queen Mathilde is wearing these colors but also when it is Queen Maxima.

It is the first time that someone is calling Queen Mathilde artificial and totally boring. The people who have met her personally they all say that she is very natural and puts people immediately at ease. When she is having a visit during the morning she gets out of bed at 7 o'clock to see her hair stylist who is coming to the castle to do her hair.
I think it is proof of being envolved with the protection of the climate, etc... to rewear regularly the same outfit when being at work.
Queen Mathilde does not use much make-up during the day. She only wears red lipstick when she visits a theater, a concert, or a gala dinner in the evening.
