On March 25, 2025, Queen Camilla, accompanied by King Charles III and the Duchess of Gloucester, hosted a reception at Clarence House for members of the literary community and representatives from The Queen’s Reading Room. The event also celebrated the launch of The Queen's Reading Room Medal, a new award designed to recognize individuals who champion books and storytelling in their local communities.
Dès la première photo, j'ai beaucoup aimé la robe de Camilla ; il me semble ne pas lui avoir déjà vue - La duchesse de Gloucester est toujours aussi élégante jusque dans l'apport de ses bijoux !
ReplyDeleteThis velvet dress is a tad tight, but it has a Bavarian touch, interesting, flowing, lovely colour, great change. 🌞 Virginia
ReplyDeleteA bavarian touch? Im Sinne einer Tracht?
DeletePerhaps,she meant bohemian
DeleteTo me it doesn't look Bavarian at all, not Tirol and not Austrian. Die Trächte in diese Länder sind viel schöner.
DeleteMay I say that it is once again The Duchess of Gloucester "winning" the satorial race for me. Having said that, I do like the velvet fabric on Queen Camilla, but the dress seems a trifle too tight on her.
ReplyDeleteShe need a good bra and Spanx for a polished appearance. She’s a farm girl at heart so I doubt she even worries. MR
DeleteDear Anon 13:41, worries about what, that she is not slim? I don't even know what a Spanx it is, probably a piece of underwear that takes away your breath that you really need if you are talking in front of people in a way that gives you an approving or even admiring glance from your husband ... but it does not make one slim anyway. She definitely wears an appropriate bra and I really don't grasp why she should want to look thinner in her 8th decade of life - given that she is not even fat.
Delete@anonumous 14:47 - I love your reply! Great sense of humour. And agree with you 100%!

P.S. Have no idea what Spanx is and can't even bother to google it. :)
So heartwarming to see both of them so happy ... warm in their dealings with each other and still such an amorous expression when they look at each other!!!
ReplyDeletePretty blue velvet dress for Queen Camilla--the style is good on her and it doesn't look too tight to me. Camilla looks lovely here. The Duchess of Gloucester looks very elegant--and I love the bejeweled clips at the neckline and her pearl necklace is gorgeous.

Very good new dress and a joyfull gathering!
ReplyDeleteI don't like Camilla's dress. It looks used, like a dress she had in her closet for years. There is sustainability and sustainability. The Duchess of Gloucester's hair is very beautiful. It has grown a bit longer than before and it suits her even better.
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla looks great in this velvet dress. A reader myself, I love her Reading Room initiative. I've listened to some of the podcasts. I recognize Donna Tartt next to King Charles in the group picture. Now I have to google when a new book comes out, she writes a fabulous book every 10 years or something like that...

The tallest of the two women, dressed in a men's suit and wearing ties, is also wearing the ugliest shoes I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteIn contrast to most of you I don’t like this dress on her. The color doesn’t really suit QC, but it’s the fabric of the dress I don’t like. Not so much because it’s velvet ( I do like velvet a lot), but is too soft/flimsy. QC looks better in more structured fabrics. She now looks a bit frumpy. The DoG looks impeccable and elegant as always !!
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. The fabric just looks worn out. I wonder if she leaves a wardrobe at each residence and staff rotates it based on the royals calendar. Hence same style to accommodate a variety of events.
DeleteA lovely colour on the Queen. However I must agree, a better bra and maybe a belt would have finished the outfit off perfectly. The King is so proud of her, to have your husband love you so much is a wonderful. The duchess is such a stylish woman, always looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is not the best fit, at least not the upper part. The color is fine. The DoG looks fantastic.

Yes, I did say BAVARIAN TOUCH, not the complete look. In Austria and Bavaria this style is called „Landhausmode“. An assorted belt would have jazzed up this outfit.
