On March 6, 2025, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi attended Borne's Wonderland Gala, an event dedicated to raising funds for research aimed at preventing premature births. The gala took place at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Committed to ending premature birth, Borne funds research to advance knowledge of pregnancy and childbirth, with the goal of improving the lives of mothers and babies and preventing preterm birth.
Princess Beatrice of York has been announced as the new royal patron of the premature birth research charity Borne. She joins a distinguished group of Borne patrons, including Will Greenwood and Caro Greenwood, Dame Darcey Bussell, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Erin O’Connor, all of whom share a personal connection to the cause.
At the event at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Princess Beatrice of York wore a cream sequin knitted midi dress from Self-Portrait. She paired the dress with beige Jennifer Chamandi heels and a silver Roger Vivier clutch.
Although I like the fit, it still has too many pocket flaps and gold buttons giving the military vibes which she and her mother are fond of. Her hair looks especially nice in these photos.
ReplyDeleteThere are more princesses and duchess in the U.K. who like military accents in their clothing. I think this outfit is not bad. It is giving Chanel vibes, but I could appreciate it more with a pencil skirt.
DeleteLovely to see Princess Beatrice out and about again. This is a great outfit on her and she looks brilliant
ReplyDeleteThis outfit looks fabulous, she suits this suit well.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice looks fabulous--very pretty and chic! Love her dress--it fits beautifully and cream is a lovely color for her. Edo is quite handsome in his tux. They are a very good-looking couple. This patronage is a perfect match for Beatrice.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Her sleeves are a little long.
ReplyDeleteYes and shoulders as well.
DeleteIt's a lovely suit in it's own right, but I don't know if I'd have chosen to wear it for a Black-tie gala. To me, something more glamorous is more appropriate for that kind of event.

One of Beatrice’s best looks! MR
ReplyDeleteA really lovely elegant ensemble with some fun details at the jacket. She looks smashing in it. However, as it is a black-tie event ( gala) I would say that with this ensemble she is a little bit underdressed?
ReplyDeleteThe whole top is sequined, so it is overall glitzy, not only the bows. We just don't see them so well, as is the case quite often with photos ...
DeleteShe is such a beautiful woman. Her royal highness glows as always.
ReplyDeletePrincess Beatrice looks very pretty in this outfit, she has really stepped up her wardrobe since beeing married to Mr. Edoardo Mapelli ... more classy ... I love this dress ...
ReplyDeleteYes too structured a cut and pockets make it less formal.
DeleteI think the Princess and her Husband made this event the first and became patrons of it not because she wore something expensive wore designer shoes for and a nice clutch... No I think the purpose was because the lady less than a month ago GAVE BIRTH TO A PRETERM UNDERWEIGHT INFANT... CAN YOU PEOPLE KEEP YOUR MIND ON THE FREAKING CHARITY FOR LONG ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THAT GETTING THE SLEEVES TAKEN UP A HALF INCH WAS NOT HER MAIN CONCERN.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to have slipped your miniscule mind that this is a fashion blog, the purpose of which is to comment on fashion. We all applaud and commiserate her intention towards this patronage she has chosen to represent, but we participate in other blogs where the purpose is exactly for that, and not fashion. Less time using the Caps Lock button, and more time examining your self-righteousness would serve you well.

As this is a fashion blog, comments regarding outfits are anticipated. Are you suggesting that the birth of a royal baby should not be covered during the recovery period? If so, why would they attend a public event during that time?
DeleteExcuse me but I think this is a fashion blog. For comment on other very important issues better use other platforms
DeleteLearn to behave on social media please and just stop crying per capital letters. Whatever the purpose of the charity is: Even if it might be interesting to know the background of her presence there, this is a fashion blog for fashion talk in the first place. So have a nice day and don't educate everbody else here, Ms. Vogt.
DeleteWow T Vogt, please there’s no need to shout. You do not need to personally defend a public figure who has plenty of beautiful compliments here - and few small fashion critiques.
DeleteT. Vogt: this is a fashion blog, people comment on fashion and for the most part very thoughtfully. Please leave Caps-Lock off next time you make your kindly fashion comment here.
DeleteOkay, first of all, you don't need to shout (LARGE CAPS). Secondly, this is a blog about fashion. Hello!? The main purpose *is* to discuss/critique the fashion not (necessarily) where the fashion was worn. Sure, feel free to comment on the event/good deeds the person is there to support etc. but, get a grip. You tripping! You tripping *real hard!!* You might want to practice some deep breathing exercises and reflective meditation. Just saying.
DeleteVery pretty in the outfit. She has beautiful hair.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress on a lovely princess!
ReplyDeleteConsidering she just gave birth she looks freakin’ amazing. I love the dress. I think the sequins elevate it to black tie- appropriate. I’m so glad the York princesses are getting more involved in Royal work. They seem to be a wonderful asset to the institution.
ReplyDelete, From Joann - I like that her personality is showing through in the last photo (right before the models.) She seems pleasant and comfortable with herself. I do like the outfit very much, especially the color. Beatrice's husband also seems nice too (and it doesn't hurt that he is very handsome! ) My best wishes and kind thoughts on their new baby.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice is glowing in this lovely suit. I think the jacket could lose the chest pockets, it takes away from the bow detail.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you yelling, T. Vogt?
Mrs Cleaver
I agree the pockets take away for the dressy look regardless of the sparkles, and bows
ReplyDeleteAgree with the others, this is a fashion blog, and if some feel the fashion choice does not necessarily fit the function it is okay to say so. Some photos do not show the true look, but regardless of the sparkles.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice is soooo beautiful❤️
ReplyDeleteIt's been so much fun to see her transform herself into a Royal swan since her engagement and wedding. She and Edo are my favorite couple in the British Royal family.
DeleteShe looks lovely. I just wish make-up wise she would put some eyeliner on her lower lid to minimize the "bug-eyed" look she often has. Before you all yell at me, I know it's something she can't help, etc., etc., and I'm not saying she isn't pretty. She is! I'm just saying this is a good example of how a little bit of makeup can improve your appearance. Okay, go ahead and start throwing tomatoes at me. :)
ReplyDelete21:20 as long as you write your comment in a way that you wouldn’t be embarrassed if she were standing next to you when she read it, and if she wouldn’t be hurt by reading it, there’s no problem. You can make a point kindly here about makeup - but do it without criticising a woman’s face. But if you think your comment might get shot down, as you write several times in your post?, then that’s a hint to you that what you’re about to publish may be perceived as unkind - so modify it before you publish. Keep it kind and enjoy the discussion.
DeleteOr are you yelling at others?
DeleteShe is just simply beautiful and petite. Her husband is so handsome that they both have that charm amazing love 💕 and gentle smile.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning look for Beatrice, the color fits her well too. So nice to see her after the birth of their daughter Athena. She looks great from head to toe. Edo looks very handsome. Nice to hear she will be Patrone of the charity. This is a great fit for her. Hope we will hear more about it.

I feel Self Portrait has one look - much loved by many royals and celebrities, but they all seem to just be a variation on the same theme. Beatrice looks so healthy which is wonderful, but this outfit feels wrong for a black tie event, in my opinion. LRB
