From March 1 to 8, 2023, Princess Astrid of Belgium, representing the King, is leading an economic mission to India. The Princess is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Prévot, Minister of Defence Theo Francken, Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele, and more than 300 representatives of Belgian companies.
The mission is taking place in New Delhi, the country's capital, and Mumbai, its main economic center. Princess Astrid first visited the new production unit of Agristo in Bijnor, a frozen food giant from West Flanders. This plant processes potatoes in a thousand different ways while supporting local producers.
Gucci Rose Garden Print Silk Cardigan
I love the green outfit, but really dislike the grandma vest.
ReplyDeleteGo Princess Astrid;I like her style.Lets have a chip;I love ground breaking, feed the world one chip at a time(Tara)
ReplyDeleteGucci yes but is not very favorite. It really doesn't fit to this outfit. I would say she needs a little help.

I like the individual pieces but not together. Perhaps a cream or white jumpsuit would nicer imo. She is such a lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteThe Gucci garment for me is an example of big brand - high price - low taste. The bold Gucci stripes shout “this is Gucci” but clash with the rose print. Us$2000+ can be much better spent. Then again, culturally, amongst certain wheelers and dealers in India, shows of wealth will be perceived differently from my perspective - and she is there is build trade.
ReplyDeleteVery happy to see the added pictures - the white + yellow silk jacket is lovely on her and for the occasion. Agree re the assessment above on the Gucci- that it is a low taste / high price garment , where you pay to wear the brand (look at me I wear Gucci!) versus a beautiful garment. The green underneath it is interesting and she herself is lovely.
ReplyDeleteA charming and hard working Princess. I like her a lot.
DeleteA great asset for the Belgium Royal family.
Unfortunately, when it comes to fashion, the Princess is very “left handed”.
Go for more reasonably priced fashion names and use the savings to pay for a professional stylist.
@ Deadeggs
DeletePrincess Astrid has a lot of very reasonably priced clothes which she wears sometimes during these economic missions, sometimes even mixed with her Gucci or Chanel accessories.
I don't think she has to save on fashion being married to a Habsburg which means money. That doesn't mean Princess Astrid is not wearing her older clothes, on the contrary.
If she wants a stylist she can afford one, but I think she only wears what she likes and when she likes it.
Yes, I think you're right Anon 07:43.
DeleteShe only wears "what she like and when she likes it".
Sorry Anon 07:43 , I’m back again.
DeleteJust read on another site the following comment which has been my thoughts for a long time.
The comment said………..
“Princess Astrid still believes that wearing luxury brands and logos makes her look chic... it's quite the opposite”.
@ deadeggs
DeleteI think Princess Astrid won't throw away the luxury things she has for ages. Like I said she also has a lot of reasonable priced fashion clothes. She wears Belgian high street brands, like simple cotton dresses which she pairs with Gucci or Chanel handbags which she has since many years. Sometimes she looks good and sometimes she looks less good, but above all she dresses like she feels and only wears what she thinks is appropriate for the event.
Même si j'aime beaucoup le style du cardigan imprimé en soie, il me semble qu'il aurait mieux convenu à la princesse comme porté par le mannequin ; elle aurait été superbe !
ReplyDeleteI really dislike longer leaves underneath a shorter jacket or coat. I believe it was my grandmother rule, and it stayed with me forever.
ReplyDeleteI like the yellow ensamble better

I looked across at UFO at Astrid’s previous foreign tours: she seems dressed head to toe in Gucci frequently. I wonder why? - ostentatious, excessively expensive and does not enhance the wearer except very rarely. https://ufonomore.com/blog/2024/11/26/princess-astrids-economic-mission-to-brazil-day-2 Could she be sponsored by them?
ReplyDeleteI never understood her style (or lack thereof). It’s not like she cannot afford a stylist.
