Hmmm, the colour and fit are nice on the princess, coat goes well with the skirt, lovely brooch. Just not excited about the overall look, perhaps a vintage look I am happy to leave in the past.

    1. You said it so nicely, but indeed I'm also happy to leave it in the past. But oh well, this is who she is!

The jacket is a classic traditional piece without shouting "last fashion" - but that does not make it vintage with a certain time stamp on it. I cannot locate it in any of the known vintage decades. She looks good.

  6. The tailoring of the coat is perfect. Look how the rows of blocks line up perfectly with those on the sleeves. As I age, I prefer clothes that are tried and true to my taste. The princess obviously feels the same.

As opposed to many of the old garments worn by the Princess that are hard to swallow, this coat is very subtle and as Debra pointed out well-tailored and interesting. If only she would perk up her outfits with new handbags and shoes etc. etc., like many of us do and clever women have always done. I have noticed that Princess Michael of Kent is very good at this. Her resources are far more limited than those of Princess Anne, this is a fact.

Still working, she must be over 65?

The Princess Royal looks marvelous here. I love the color combo of the green and tan. Her coat is so beautifully made--the tailoring is excellent. And her brooch adds a touch of elegance--the placement is perfect.

A little on the downside. Nothing wrong with the pieces itself, but together not a wow factor. Nice to see her out.

      @ Tara
Queen Margrethe is much older than Princess Anne. No comparison possible. As I cannot see it very well on the pictures, I cannot answer if this style is good or bad. Is she wearing a dress underneath or trousers ? The coat on itself looks not too bad, but combined with the same weird hairstyle, the fact that she might be wearing boots or shoes, the fact that she always must wear a brooch and thinks that it can correct a bad look, ... The whole outfit is styled in the wrong way. If she likes an updo, there are better ones than her own. The fact that she seems to color her hair a bit now and then, but there are still grey hairs that stay visible, almost always bad accessories, .... She should think of having a professional make over. It is never too late.
