I have never seen the Empress or ANY Japanese royal laugh so heartily as we see Masako do here in the last but one pic. I am so happy to see her this way.

The skirt suit is wonderful on her although I prefer her in trouser suits. Now, if only she chopped off about 5 inches from this skirt, I would very much like this too.

Yes I wonder what was said that made her laugh. It's great to see her relaxed and clearly enjoying herself. (V.M )

The red dress of the Brazilian first lady is fitting very well, which cannot be said of the skirt or dress worn by the Empress.

    1. It’s a shame that the skirt fits so badly. The jacket is great and the colour is lovely. although Mme da Silva’s dress is only a little shorter it fits so well

The tailors for the Japanese royal family do a great job with pant suits. The pants are tailored well and the fit is great. The skirts always appear too big and look a litle sloppy. I wonder why.

As much as I like this vibrant blue and the glow it gives the empress, I wonder why the skirt has to be so shapeless and unnecessarily boring. There are so many other smart cuts in the classic couture style. The length, I doubt whether protocol would allow any „chopping“. The late queen always wore skirts but she never looked this. Such a pity, must be the tailoring or the choice of fabric.

The Japanese Royals are very conservative dressers, shoes, skirt lengths Iike in the eighties, (which was a nice time for fashion imo) . I like the blue suit on Empress Masako, the jacket has a nice length and nice details. The skirt kind of spoils it, too long and too wide. And the shoes... I'm not saying she should wear stilettos, but how about a chic and modern pair of pumps? Mrs. da Silva looks great in that red dress, great cut and beautiful colour.

Beautiful color and jacket cut for Empress Masako. But again, a terrible skirt that ruins the overall impression.

Both ladies look great. I like the red dress from the Brazilian first lady a lot, very well fitted. The Empress blue suit looks very nice, love the color.

As always the Empress is elegance personified. I love how the lace detail on the jacket matches the lace top under the jacket. The color is super flattering.

-Dorothe-

Lovely outfits on both ladies. The shoes….if the vamp was just a little less high like the first ladies they would look nicer. The heel height is okay. Perhaps they are more comfortable but orthopaedic looking

  12. The skirt on the Empress, a bit long, but her jacket fits well. Love the addition of the pearl necklace. The Brazilian first lady, looks tremendous in this well made and fitted red dress.
