Duchess of Sussex Shares New Photos to Mark International Women’s Day

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Princess Lilibet, Prince Archie, and Doria Ragland

The Duchess of Sussex celebrated International Women's Day on March 8 by sharing special photos on her Instagram account @meghan. One of the photos she posted featured her three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet. In the picture, Lilibet is seen on a boat with her father, Prince Harry, during a scenic ride. Prince Harry cradled his daughter in his arms, gently kissing the top of her head.

The photo carousel also included a snapshot of the Duchess with her mother, Doria Ragland, along with a picture of her and Prince Harry enjoying time on the beach. The Duchess wrote: "Happy International Women's Day! Celebrating the strong women around us and the young girls with dreams who will grow into visionary women."

It is so important women support each other - in difficult times positivity is always a bonus. I love Meghan’s beach look - for most of us it may be an expensive outfit for a beach, but she looks gorgeous and happy. Happy International Women’s Day to all of us wonderful women. LRB

LRB, a good point re Meghan’s expensive beach clothes. Ultimately, and weirdly now that I realise this, Prince Harry - who grew up so differently from the rest of us, in such money and privilege - is more relatable than Meghan. I fully endorse his outfits for boat/beach: cap, tshirt, board shorts.

Megan Sussex dressed in designer clothes before joining the royal family. Bought and paid with her own hard worked earned money. Kate M$ddleton steps out in much expensive clothes paid by the UK taxpayers. Please don't come at with the Douchy bs

Her "beach clothes" are not expensive. Meghan famously dresses high-low, meaning she mixes high street and designer clothes. This dress is less expensive than most of the dresses we see here on other royals.

@16:29, I don’t understand what “douchy bs” is but I think the comment above regarding Harry’s fashion being more relatable is funny and true! I too find him such a relatable chap, and do not see the same from Meghan.

What’s “douchy bs”? Doesn’t sound like a fair response to the commenter above?

Douchy bs? Is that normal English ? I’d much prefer, dear Douchy BS, to read your own comments on the fashion than you criticising another commenter’s fair opinion!

The "douchy" part of the comment is unfortunate, but I think the sentiment was in reaction to a jab at Meghan that was not necessary. What Anon 16:29 said about Meghan dressing no differently than she did before meeting and marrying Harry is true. She still wears many pieces of her pre-Harry wardrobe. It is also true that so many of Kate's simple day dresses are 3 and 4 times the cost of this dress. I caught the slight when I read the comment. It is too bad that the negative had to come out on a post about women in support of women. It is an example of what we should avoid doing. When personal biases are involved, not everything needs to be said.

Likewise, I hope when Anon 16:29 said Harry was more relatable, it included support in his decision to leave a situation that was toxic to him. We all deserve to be happy.

With a global population of 8+ billion, and half of those women, I find it crazy that we have ONE day to remember women. I’m totally pro-women, but find it so weird that we require a special day to highlight us! Anyone else?? I say make every day our day - and do our best daily to build each other up. Go girls.

Women celebrating women of all ages and walks of life is a beautiful thing. It is not only important to the women of today, but to remember the young girls that are the women of the future.

I have always liked Meghan's simple style. This dress and hat are to my taste and would be easy to replicate. Little Lily curled up in her Daddy's arms makes me smile.

That one comment does so much damage. Why can you not either scroll by or make a positive comment about the importance of women supporting women? I find your comment and you hiding behind anonymity really disappointing. LRB

Nice beach dress. I agree with the comment above that a separate day is not needed. I think we have grown beyond and are now a more inclusive society. Yes there are still some people who disagree but to be inclusive we have to stop being separate.

Touching photos of three generations of women who love and support each other. Doria, Meghan, and Lili in the circle of life. The shot of Harry cuddling his daughter is the sweetest.

What a beautiful picture of Lilli and her father. It shows all the love of a father for his daughter. The picture could be published on fathers day too, but by then Meghan will have perhaps new pictures for us to look at.

Let’s hope so. They are very carefully and in their own way allowing us to see a little of their gorgeous children. I totally understand their reluctance to show their faces, but it is nice to see the derangers who claim the children don’t exist being proved wrong. I think Harry was very close to Diana and probably wanted and wants to be close to his Father. It is lovely to see he has such a good, close relationship with his children. LRB

  11. One essential "fashion" item missing from Lily's ensemble - a legally required life jacket.

"Under California law, every child under 13 years of age on a moving recreational vessel of any length must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket."
The key word is moving. There is no indication that the boat moving. It is very possible that the boat was docked. I absolutely believe that they would never take any chances with their beautiful children.

If one shows their child with dad, I think a glimpse of the little girl's face would have been nice. The PJ pink is Ok an easy way to dress.
