Good choice of Mary, a smart coat and vibrant color! People will turning heads not in darker purple and blue.
Save this for older age when your 70.
The trousers are too big look at the model she has it right.

Good old ageism hits again ... do explain: why do you think darker purple and blue should be preferably worn be older women? What's the problem with dark colours - except you don't like them?

I agree the coat is not beautiful when worn with too wide pants. She should also wear a black top underneath because all the rest is black, buttons, handbag, pants and boots. She could replace the buttons of her coat in the same color as the fabric then she could wear i.e. grey pants, shoes, handbag, etc.... with the coat.

If wearing dark blue and purple the design needs to be modern and crisp not long and dull. Or long but more like Ms Macron not the design of the first State visit.
You can learn alot of italian french designers.

May I ask you WHY is it so hard for you to look at the newest trends so clearly showcased in F/ W 24-25 collections before dropping your pointless lines?
Blue and purple in all their shades are just two of the hit colours of the season and Queen Mary is a contemporary lady living in the present.
Thankfully, she is no elderly person bemoaning all the time.

You can better have a style of your own than follow the new collections, they change all the time and it cost you a lot of money.
Buying 4 new coats a year many people don't have that amount of money.

What does having a style of your own even mean?
Of course, everyone have their own personal approach to fashion and may want to be cool at the same time.
What you said does not apply to Queen Mary's budget for sure.
      Don't you think so?
I noticed that she has upgraded her clothes and brands selection since her enthronement and that's easily understandable.
So, let me see...you're wawing from ageism to budget issues?
Or must I think it's all about your lack of modern trends knowledge?
      As simple as that.
Once again, you' re proving you've never even googled for the latest fashion trends and you do not know how much prices can vary according to different brands.
You just make a guess, according to your personal bias.
Some colours have to be worn only if you' re in your seventies?
Where did you get this rule from?
I thought this was a fashion blog and you were at least a bit knowledgeble.
Otherwise, please, may you explain how you've ended up on this ROYAL fashion blog?

Please, @Anonymous 15:33, before writing your nonsense, make sure you study some English grammar and get a mirror to look you in.
Oh, and...decline too hard thinking or you' ll end up shattered.
      Thank you.

  3. I love the color and style of the coat but not with these wide pants. The pants on the model look so much better with this coat.

You are right. The coat is too tight for baggy trousers. On this trip, apart from the banquet jewellery, Mary (strangely) got everything wrong. Irene

I love the cut and colour of Marys coat, but not so much the flared pants when worn together with the coat.

In photo #3, what we have are 2 very good looking couples.

Like the coat, mot so much with the wide pants. Maybe if she wasn’t wearing the grey boots they would look better. Seems like the first lady was wearing dresses to queens pants

  11. The wide pants are so ugly in combination with this otherwise beautiful coat, they completely destroy the look. The boots make it even worse. And the hair... too much extensions. Mary has lost her groove.

For most of us when we put on a wool coat, it is not perfectly matched with the outfit underneath, because it’s purpose is to keep us warm - stylishly if possible. In this example I think Mary has put the coat on for warmth but intended to take it off to reveal the beautiful grey outfit underneath. When she hasn’t taken it off, it does look suboptimal with the very wide trousers - but it nevertheless is a very nice coat and I wouldn’t demand that the outfit below must match the outer garment necessarily.

Beautiful coat. The vibrant color is one to behold. I wish Mary had worn a straighter cut trouser, similarly to what the model is wearing.
Have to say First Lady Innes-Stubb has been a pleasure to watch on this visit.

I agree with the above comments, the slim coat is elegant and special, lovely colour, but the wide trousers seem to drown the ensemble.
