On February 4, 2025, the Princess of Wales visited the National Portrait Gallery in London to launch a new initiative from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, aimed at helping young children develop essential social and emotional skills. The Princess of Wales, who has been Patron of the National Portrait Gallery since 2011, also met with its newly appointed Director, Victoria Siddall, as well as chief executives and expert practitioners from five other galleries across the UK.
The new initiative is based on the Shaping Us Framework and has been developed by the Centre for Early Childhood in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, of which the Princess has been Patron since 2011. The aim of the framework is to raise awareness and promote understanding of the importance of social and emotional skills across society.

ReplyDeleteThis is the third or fourth time you write this in a blog post here. I think the fifth time we can ask Helen to not publish your comment. Could you instead stay relevant to the post ?
DeleteWhere is your comment about fashion?
DeleteSorry, but what does the Princess of Wales have to do with Palestine?
DeletePerhaps you could consider other Arabic countries. They offer a rich cultural experience, abundant opportunities, and significant financial potential.
DeleteStop trolling.

Ladies, please don't feed the troll.

DeleteVery rare miss for Kate. This brown goes bad with black. Zofia
ReplyDeleteBut marron does.
DeleteA miss in my opinion as well, from so many perspectives.
DeleteLily
I agree on the "miss", yes. Brown is a difficult color to wear and this combination is disappointing.
DeleteI agree. Not a great colormatching and the colors don’t suit her either.
DeleteLa veste marron est jolie, mais avec du noir ça fait un ensemble un peu triste.
ReplyDeletePaloma.
That's a great and important initiative.
ReplyDeleteI like her trousers, they really suit her and I prefere wide ones. But I'm not sure about the color combination with the jacket.
My thoughts as well
DeleteI Agree. She still looks elegant, but it is a rare miss for Kate.
Deletemjt
Mjt, who is Kate?
DeleteIt maybe unusual to see a grey (?) pinstripe with chocolate brown jacket, but if Catherine wears it, I think it can announce a new trend for others to follow. I think it looks splendid.
ReplyDeleteNicely dressed and full of life!
ReplyDeleteI actually like the brown-black combination
Belle veste marron mais pas du tout à associer avec ce pantalon noir !
ReplyDeleteI was taught as a child by my mother that brown and black should not be worn together, but that was a lifetime ago. All those "rules" do not apply today. It is considered a stylish combination now. I can't be sure, but the stripe in her trousers may be the same color as her blazer. I am happy to see her wearing something more contemporary.
ReplyDeleteHer clothes are terrible. The colour of the blazer, the wide and pinstripe trousers, the colour of the high heels. It just doesn't go together
ReplyDeleteTerrible is a harsh word. The colors and patterns might not be the easiest to pair. Sometimes the mix of textures and hues works for a bold statement, even if it’s not everyone's cup of tea.
DeleteApparently dark brown and gray is a popular combination this winter. It doesn't work for me in this outfit because the two dark tones are too close and don't provide enough contrast. The combination would work better if the brown were a camel color or the gray were a lighter shade, but that's just my preference. Although now that I think about it, my husband has dark gray flannel trousers and a camel sport jacket that I find very attractive, so possibly that's made it hard for me to be objective!
ReplyDeleteNot keen black and brown unless it is in the fabric already. She looks great the cause it the important thing.

What is the deliverable for this cause..just raising awareness?
DeleteAnon 23.25 Focusing on early childhood development is crucial, and it’s nice that she’s working with organizations like the National Portrait Gallery to help raise awareness. It's also inspiring that she’s been involved with the gallery for so long! Or you maybe want to know the KPIs?
DeleteShe really cares about the wellbeing of children!
ReplyDeleteI like wide trousers, just not these or the fact that they pucker and are a bit too long even with the boots.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering is she wearing a hair piece to add fullness in the back? No problem if she is, just curious
ReplyDeleteShe’s known for having thick hair, so it might just be great styling and a bit of volume-boosting products.
DeleteI really like this outfit! The dark brown and dark gray look wonderful together to me. I wonder if the trousers pinstripe is the same color as Catherine's blazer. I think this look is beautifully put together. I also like seeing her wear more separates--the suits are fine but this is a really good change. The only thing I would change would be for her to wear a stronger lip color.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Yes, most likely. It's especially obvious here. But that could be due to her illness and shouldn't be judged.
ReplyDeleteWhile the pinstripe slacks are nice, the overall effect is a bit drab. And, dare I say it, but the blazer needs a good steaming.
ReplyDeleteFair enough! It’s all about personal style, right? Maybe the more muted look is the vibe someone’s going for, and as for the blazer, a little structure can work even without a perfect steam.
DeleteI saw a close up photograph of the trousers and the pinstripe is the same color as her jacket. I like the jacket, and the trouser,I just don’t know if I like them together.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
I actually love her look today. She looks glamorously natural. If there is an expression like this
ReplyDeleteIt did cross my mind yesterday that this downbeat outfit was an attempt to reinforce her desire that focus was on her causes rather than her clothes. This seems to have been the view of a number of commentators in the British press today, quality as well as tabloid. Inevitably, the lack of obvious glamour has caused more coverage than her usual look.
ReplyDeleteAnnieM
I like what Catherine is wearing, suitable for the occasion.
