On February 26, 2025, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Pontypridd Market in Wales ahead of St David's Day. The Prince and Princess of Wales talked to local business owners about the impact of the flooding caused by Storm Bert and Storm Darragh. Their first stop was Pontypridd Market, which has been at the heart of the community since 1805. Here, the Prince and Princess tried their hand at making traditional Welsh cakes and helped prepare and cook a batch at The Welsh Cake Shop.
The Prince and Princess of Wales then visited Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland in Pontypridd, Wales. This initiative aims to create a safe and welcoming space where the local community can come together and enjoy the benefits of nature. The Princess wore a cropped tweed Katherine Hooker jacket, which she first wore to the Cheltenham races in 2007. She also sported a checked wool midi skirt by Gucci.
Nice to see them doing joint engagements together. I prefer the brown outfit to the red one, though both are nice.

I, too, prefer the brown outfit. The shorter length jacket looks great on Catherine, and I like the plaid skirt and boots with it.

This little brown jacket is 18 years old - Catherine wore it 2007: https://ufonomore.com/recently-added/ralph-lauren-collection-tweed-and-suede-jacket . Thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteThe Princess of Wales looks wonderful in the red coat but just as good in the checked skirt and jacket. Her husband on the other hand looks like he grabbed whatever was to hand with the brown jacket, navy trousers, wine coloured sweater and grey shoes. I know he strives for informality but surely he needn't look quite so scruffy! Wonderful to see them interacting together when making the Welsh cakes.
ReplyDeleteLes chaussures de William sont marrons comme sa veste.
DeleteBeau manteau rouge pour Catherine. La jupe est très (trop) classique.
Paloma.
Agree with everything you wrote
DeleteI think it’s the one outfit for Catherine, with the long red coat over the top against the cold and rain; then when it’s slightly brighter in the community garden, without the red coat so we see the short jacket. Contrary to the scruffy idea, I think William is very approachable and weather apt, and we shouldn’t expect too much satirist elegance for an approachable prince visiting a market, doing some cooking, then visiting a community garden. No doubt the brief was to arrive quite casually as you see from their hosts. I think the couple look wonderful, warm - and heck, happy - and it really pleases me to see them, just as they are.
Deletecorrection: sartorial (not “satirist” as my autocorrect chose!)
DeleteFunny, I was thrilled to see what William was wearing. I am so tired of blue suits. I don't see navy pants or grey shoes, either. It must be our screens reading the colors differently.

DeleteAre you sure everything is allright with your screen ? On mine Prince William's jacket and shoes are brown, the sweater wine red and the trousers black or very dark grey. Nothing unusual. Besides men can wear brown nubuck shoes with all kind of colors.
Catherine is the queen of recycling!
ReplyDeleteNo, she's not. There are other royals who has done this much more regularly for years, and years, but it's great seeing that she has joined the club.
DeleteI agree.
Delete@10:42 she's been part of that "club" for many years now, this is nothing new for her.
DeleteThe red coat is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the rewear of this jacket looks fabulous, the skirt is gorgeous.
Fashion wise not much to say, but so lovely to see them out and I'm about, and the interaction between them is simply priceless.
ReplyDeleteLuna
Is a tradition in Great Britain to wear daffodils that way?
ReplyDeleteits the flower of Wales worn on st. David's day just like the shamrock is worn on St, patrick's day

Of course she looks very good but what is more important: they both look relaxed. The photo of the bakery is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMa préférence est pour ce magnifique manteau rouge par rapport à la tenue marron !
ReplyDeleteJust one word about Princess Catherine:
ReplyDeletesplendid!
I can hardly imagine Prince William's joy and pride to have such a precious spouse back at his side on official engagements.
I wish them the best of lives and continued good health to Catherine.
Is no one gonna tell us the coat is to long, like they did with her sister in law 🤣😂
ReplyDeleteNo, we all are just so happy to see her out and about that we have become blind to her sartorial choices. ;)

The coat is not ankle length like some of Sophie's coats. I agree with Luna. It is good to see her beginning to resume her duties. That is the focus now.
DeleteTheir synchronicity is funny! They probably don't even realise they do it but it's very cute!
ReplyDeleteSpot on, both outfits. Love that she is recycling her cloth like everyone else.
