On February 4, 2025, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal, for a six-day trip to celebrate the country's ties with the UK. The Duchess began the second day of the official royal tour at the Bhaktapur Hospital Maternity Wing, where she met with mothers. She then visited Kirtipur Eye Hospital. Afterwards, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited Maiti Nepal, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting victims of human trafficking.

They were welcomed by President Ram Chandra Paudel and his wife, Sabita, at the Presidential Palace in Maharajgunj. The trip aims to reinforce shared interests between the UK and Nepal, including youth opportunities, healthcare, gender equality, and conservation and biodiversity.

I like both of these dresses on D. Sophie. The Etro has a casual style but the eye catching print makes it special.
The Mary K dress is the perfect length and although there’s quite a bit going on (pleats, bow, etc.) it’s very flattering.
I’m happy to see the Duke in a suit that actually fits him but I still think he should try a single breasted style given his slim build. (V.M.)

Yes to a single breasted suit on Edward.

I am sorry I do not like these dresses, and agree about the Duke, he would look better in a single breasted suit, but Edward is a very conservative man.

Sorry, Lovely Duchess is not at her best in these over busy dresses (and I am normally on team floral).

I usually love what our lovely Sophie wears but I'm afraid I don't like these.

2 dresses I do not like at all.
The ETRO dress : I do not like flowers on a black ground. The style of the dress is so passé.
The Mary K dress : although I like the length, the pleats that start lower than the waistline, etc.. I do not like the print, much too busy. This dress could have worked in a lovely plain color like royal blue, fuchsia, lilac, etc...

The Etro dress: Remove the duster and maybe I could risk a look to see if it is better (probably not). The second dress has the right length but for long sleeves and a closed neckline, the pattern is too busy. The pussy bow ... is like that duster on the other dress, something to get rid of.

Both rewears so perhaps after this trip they will be retired. There just doesn’t seems to be any balance of the dresses to her height. Perhaps she is taking a note from Princess Anne to look in the back of the closet, the difference being PA clothes are in proportion to her shape. Maybe the purse strings are tight. A shame to look dowdy

To be fair to Sophie,I can’t think of anyone who would look good in either of these horrible dresses. They’re way too busy and have too much doing on.
    Sophie desperately needs a stylist.
Whatever she’s sees when she buys these items is not what is projected to the public

The length of the second dress is so much better but it’s so fussy, I can’t find no love for it. While the black floral dress is also fussy, I think it’s the better of the two and just about okay with the shoes the duchess is wearing. Neither a real winner imo

I agree about the dresses from the majority of comments, regardless she looks great. I love her small green bag! Divine!

I don't know what has happened. Fifteen or so years ago Sophie had excellent style and I admired her sense of fashion. Flounces at the bottom and busy florals do nothing for her. I would never wear those clothes if someone gave them to me.

  11. I traveled to Nepal some time ago and I'm looking forward to see which place they will visit.
I like the Retro dress, not so much the other, but it's just my taste

Même avis. Je n'aime ni les robes, ni les sacs, ni les chaussures, tout est vieillot. Quel dommage. J'aime bien Sophie mais je ne partage pas ses goûts en mode. Paloma.
