On the opening day of the 2025 Invictus Games, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex first attended a reception hosted by Prime Minister David Eby to officially welcome the Invictus Games to British Columbia. Later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Invictus Games Welcome Ceremony at BC Place in Vancouver. After the ceremony, the Duke and Duchess watched the NHL team, the Canucks, play against the Maple Leafs.
The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. The inaugural event was held in London in 2014, followed by Orlando in 2016, Toronto in 2017, Sydney in 2018, The Hague in 2022, and Düsseldorf in 2023. Prince Harry, who served in the British Army for ten years, founded the Games in 2014 after being inspired by the Warrior Games in the US.
I love Meghan's winter white Alpaca coat. The fit and styling are perfect on her. Both of them look good. Welcome to Vancouver! (Glad that you saw a Leafs/Canucks game).

Anon 9:13 you’re in Vancouver? Wonderful. Interesting to know the provenance of my favourite commenters!
DeleteThe last picture showing Harry crying is sad. I wonder what was being said/shown at the time. In the first picture Meghan looks very thin; I hope she is ok. The cost of her cost is USD2300 … so relatively cheap for a Meghan garment (but 10x more than most of us could ever imagine paying?).
ReplyDeleteOne of Duchess Meghan’s favourite ‘go-to’ brands for 100% Canadian outerwear.
ReplyDeleteBojana Sentaler, owner/designer, took the plunge into fashion 15 years ago after completing her commercial and marketing studies. The push to use her talents for fashion came from Karl Lagerfeld.
In just over 10 years, the company has collected an impressive list of “shoppers”, including The Princess of Wales (Catherine Middleton)
No doubt we’ll be seeing more fashion pieces for a cold climate.
Happy Invictus Games to all.
A bit of history on Bojana Sentaler , if you’re interested.

Thank you for the interesting background information , deadeggs.
DeleteGongratulations to Prince Harry for Invictus.
ReplyDeleteThey look good - happy to see them on the Blog.

Pour une fois que Harry pourrait être en vedette, Meghan prend tout l’espace.
DeleteI like this trench coat. It has interesting details and is a stylish take on a classic design. This color is always flattering on her. She can get away with the longer length because she is wearing stilettos, but I think it could have been shortened a touch to look its best. If her heels had been any lower, it wouldn't have worked.
ReplyDeleteThe Invictus Games is a wonderful event to honor and celebrate wounded warriors. I hope that will not get lost in the comments.
Beautiful cost ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coat 😁😁
ReplyDeleteWearing her signature white, it is a nice coat fits well.I would of thought since it is winter and they are in a hockey arena she would of worn boots like the model, or slacks rather than dainty shoes. It is after all a sports event. The young girl looks lovely in her dress.
ReplyDeleteThey both are looking good. I like Meghan's coat but I also think it would have been better to wear it with boots like the model, especially since the coat is a bit too long for her. I read somewhere on the Internet I think, that Meghan when arriving in Canada said it felt like coming home for her.
ReplyDeleteThank you to Helen for the interesting history about Invictus, above. Harry did a great thing in founding these gatherings. My respect to those who serve and whose lives are changed by injury. You can see that it is quite emotional for Harry in one of the pictures and Meghan is trying to comfort him. Meghan looks lovely in her winter white outfit. The coat is a bit casual and elegant at the same time. Love the pretty heels. I hope they are both well.
ReplyDeleteThe Invictus Games were founded by a group - Prince Harry, when he was joint patron of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, along with Sir Keith Mills, and in partnership with the Ministry of Defence. Prince William also donated the 1 million pounds he received in a media settlement.
DeleteThe emotional photo - they are listening to Chris Martin of Coldplay. There is video on the internet.
DeleteBeautiful coat!
ReplyDeleteSuperbe trench-coat qui convient à Meghan mais porté avec des bottes comme par le mannequin, son look aurait été bien meilleur !
ReplyDeleteA nice coat but for me it's not very interesting here to talk about Meghan's fashion. Because this is a very serious sports event that Harry initiated long time ago and where we honour these heroes, who fought for freedom and human and democratic values and because of that suffering daily with their physical and mental handicaps
ReplyDeleteHello Anon 18:30
DeleteWith all respect, this is a fashion blog.
I don’t think anybody is forgetting the purpose of the games and the people behind the scenes, including Prince Harry, who have put so much effort into helping the lives of these brave people.
Maybe someone will come up with some observations related to sporting gear and fashion. Watch this space ☺
I’m with you Deadeggs- this is a fashion blog and the event is actually not that serious at it is a sporting event with a lot of money behind it and only the privileged few able to attend.
Delete@Anon 13:47 I would argue that this is a very serious event, especially for the athletes and their families.
DeleteYou are incorrect about only the privileged few being able to attend. Tickets are available and are very reasonable. For example, tickets to the sporting events are CA $13 to $14, tickets for the event finals are slightly more at CA $27 to $28, and tickets to the closing ceremony are CA $57 to $283 . Some events are sold out. There are also some free tickets available for select events. The goal is to celebrate the athletes. Restricting those who can cheer them on doesn't make any sense.
Ce manteau est magnifique

I wish Harry success with the Invictus Games. Great opportunity for the wounded warrior to show their ability to play a great game of any sport. Maybe Harry should join the T2T foundation in connection with Invictus. Meghan's coat is very nice and well fitting. The only thing is she is so clingy OMO of course.

I would like to make a correction. Canada has one Prime Minister for the entire country, who for the moment is Justin Trudeau. David Eby is the Premier of British Columbia (like a Governor in USA). So it should read "Premier David Eby". Thank you. ~~Ruthie
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct, Ruthie. Thank you.
Delete- Anon 9:13
The coat is nice but too long, her hair would have been better in a ponytail or bun, and wearing heels instead of boots, is like she's cosplaying. And as usual she can't keep her hands off Harry.
ReplyDeleteNot suprising they left their kids home again
This is a major work event for both of them. It would not be appropriate to bring their young children when they simply would not have time to spend with them. Let’s please celebrate all that is good about Invictus and thank you to Vancouver for doing such a fantastic job. LRB
Delete@kteach: How do you know they left their kids home again? Maybe the kids are back at the hotel room or wherever they're staying. Unless you're their nanny and you know more than we do.
DeleteI also see nothing wrong with her having her hands all over her husband, especially during what is an obvious moment of emotion. Couples are allowed to be affectionate in public. Perhaps that is exactly what this world needs - more sympathy and affection.
Too much negativity on here where it's not called for.

I think you are confused about the definition of cosplay.
DeleteCosplay: "the art or practice of wearing costumes to portray characters from fiction, especially from manga, animation, and science fiction."
The pictures above were not taken at the Hocky game. That is what they wore for the opening ceremony of The Invictus Games. Harry and Meghan were dressed more casually when they arrived at the arena for the Canucks vs. Maple Leafs game. She was wearing a black coat with red lapels, and underneath a black turtleneck sweater, boots and jeans. Harry was wearing casual pants and shoes, a sweater and sports coat.

In the last photo above, "Harry looked emotional as he watched MCpl James Gendron play the bagpipes."

Harry was given the honor of dropping the puck. It was his second time dropping the puck at a Canucks game, the first being in 2023. He was joined on the ice by Canadian Invictus team members Lee Jarratt and Andre Crocker. "Prince Harry isn't the first member of the Royal family to drop the puck in Vancouver, as his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, did so in 2002. During her two-week Golden Jubilee tour of Canada, Queen Elizabeth II also assisted in starting a Canucks game..."--Town & Country Magazine

As for the children, they are of school age now. Parents do travel for business on occasion. I am not sure why that should be of concern. They seem to be very hands on parents and probably spend more time with their children than many royals. Let's not forget that Queen Elizabeth left Charles and Anne home for six months while she was on a Commonwealth tour. They were about the same ages as Archie and Lili.
@Anonymous9/2/25 23:36 She said in her opening speech, that the children stayed in California.
DeleteBringing the kids would mean all eyes on the kids. Without being mean: this is simply not something she aims at. She has no interest to be seen as part of her family.
DeleteThis coat is well made and fits beautifully. Very interesting features. It looks very warm.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a beautiful coat. Classic trench coat style with some interesting modern twists. Winter white suits Meghan well. I would have paired it with a white/cream jumper instead of the black one and white boots like on the model. And yes, have it shortened couple of inches would have been even better.
ReplyDeleteWell. When reading through all the comments, I was so happy to see we focused on the fashion and there was hardly any bad comments about them. This is progress for us as the public on this site and for them. It shows we can all move on towards a more positive future
ReplyDeleteSo why bring this up?
DeleteI think this is the magic of Helen, and I would like to thank her. ❤️
DeleteHelen must have had a lunch break, and handed the job over to her assistant since they suddenly started getting through the censor.
DeleteEvery time I look at images of this couple, I smile.
ReplyDeleteThey look so in love, so close and united. That's the impression you get from their photos.
They don't hesitate to express their affection in public. And I think that's great, if it's properly restrained, as in their case.
In all honesty, I think they're a beautiful couple. And they look happy. Which, for me, is the most important thing.
As for Meghan's clothing choices, I like her coat and her pumps.
A better effort could have been made with the hairstyle. However, she is a beautiful woman.
I thought she looked better when she gained weight (during and after her pregnancy). I hope she can put on more weight. That way, her beauty will be exacerbated.
-Astrid.
Her weight is fine. Comments about weight are not appropriate.
DeleteStrange how we never see weight comments about other royals who are just as thin, or thinner.
DeleteCan't stand them.
ReplyDeleteThat is of no importance here. What do you think of her clothes?
DeleteDo you know them?
DeleteBeautiful full lenght coat, and now it's not to long ~sincerely a tailor
