On February 6, 2025, Queen Sonja opened the exhibition At the King’s Table – From Dinner Services to Contemporary Ceramics at Queen Sonja Art Stable (KunstStall) in Oslo. Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Astrid were present at the opening. The exhibition highlights the historical heritage reflected in the official banquets hosted by the King and Queen and showcases tableware from 1815 to the present day.
The Palace’s oldest tableware was acquired in 1815 for Paléet, which served as Norway’s royal residence before the current Palace was built. Now, a portion of the 4,000-piece collection has been arranged in a dedicated ‘porcelain room,’ which serves as the opening display of the exhibition at Queen Sonja Art Stable (Dronning Sonja KunstStall) in Oslo.
Queen Sonja in the blue room covered with tableware from floor to ceiling is just spectacular - wow! So lovely to see Queen Sonja and Princess Astrid out and about again.
ReplyDeleteLove that photo, she is having fun
DeleteLovely Queen Sonja ... very pretty outfit/combination ...
ReplyDeleteQueen has lovely skin.
ReplyDeleteprincess Astrid needs foot rests on her wheelchair
She never uses them, must have a reason
DeleteHun ønsker at bruge sine fødder og ben, det er en god ide
DeleteQueen Sonia is looking very elegant. I love her jacket and blouse. On the last picture I first thought she was in a room full of Delft blue Dutch porcelain. Taking a better look I saw paintings that doesn't remember the typical Dutch decorations. Maybe it is Chinese porcelain made in the Dutch style or it is Delft blue ordered by a royal client and decorated with special drawings.Anyone can tell me the story of these blue plates ?
ReplyDeleteI love porcelain. I saw an exhibition in Vienna of the Dinner Services and other tableware which was offered to Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Sissi when they got marry and also later on. It was amazing. There were services which never have been used. There was also a service offered by Queen Victoria in Wedgewood porcelain. I cannot remember in which castle or palace the exhibition took place, but I do remember it took a lot of time to walk through every room.
I love that second picture! Really like everyone else! They all look good and appropriate for the engagement.
ReplyDeleteI like this photo as well. Is she asking if she should order for the house. I love that the CP is pushing his aunts wheelchair, shows how unstuffy they are, shows the love.
DeleteThese photos make me happy! Queen Sonja looks very elegant and it's so wonderful to see Princess Astrid too, with the puppy. She looks very youthful in this outfit.
ReplyDeleteQ S is so lovely, beautiful, a stile like a young woman!
ReplyDeleteSonja a toujours beaucoup de goût mais j'aurais bien aimé mieux voir sa broche !
