On February 4, 2025, Queen Rania of Jordan, accompanied by Laura Mattarella, visited the 'Jordan: Dawn of Christianity' exhibition at the Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome. Held under the patronage of King Abdullah II, the month-long exhibition is a collaborative effort between Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Vatican. The exhibition features 90 artifacts collected from over 30 archaeological sites across Jordan.
The exhibition also features artifacts from five pilgrimage sites in Jordan, including Mount Nebo, the memorial of Prophet Moses; Tel Mar Elias, believed to be the birthplace of Prophet Elijah; Our Lady of the Mountain Church, a shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary; Machaerus, the site of John the Baptist’s martyrdom; and the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ.
I like her hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteBut to be honest, I don't like Queen Rania's clothes.
I really don't like them. The length of what appears to be a skirt, the top, etc.
I prefer Mrs Laura Mattarella's style. It's much better.
Nevertheless, Queen Rania manages to deftly blend classic, elegant and original style. I like her for that too.

Hmmm she looks beautiful - in spite of the outfit. These huge name fashion brands can deliver some real nonsense based on the fame of their brand, that we would never think to buy from a small designer of unknown brand. Aside from the Max Mara she has chosen her shoes and I cannot think of a colour that clashes more than this yellow - although sometimes the hues that work in real life don’t show well in photos, so maybe it’s that.
DeleteQueen Rania can wear most anything but even she cannot help this skirt. I don't like the style of the skirt at all. The drape is odd almost as if the designer was going to make trousers but changed their mind after cutting the fabric. I'm usually the one championing the idea of a pop of color but I also don't like these electric yellow shoes with this taupe outfit. On the other hand, Ms. Mattarella looks stellar--beautiful color combination and very pretty dress.

Interesting skirt/pants. I like the pop,of colour with the yellow shoes
ReplyDeleteYes interesting, however a bit difficult to have a positive opinion about the skirt/pants (good formula from Ano3:54!). Globally she is impressive.
DeleteThis is an interesting outfit for Rania...I like the top very much, but the skirt is unusual, and of a style few could wear successfully. However Rania makes it work and I give her full credit for that. Her yellow shoes further add to the eclectic look in a complimentary way.
ReplyDeleteMs. Materella's dress is also nice, and both their handbags are great to see.

Yellow shoes?
ReplyDeleteI don’t understand this outfit att all.
I think she wanted desparetely to add some colour.
DeleteI guess Maxmara is fashion brand from Jordan?
ReplyDeleteNot at all. It is an Italian fashion house. If you wish to know more details, please Google and you will learn everything on this brand, much appreciated by royals and aristocrats.
DeleteQueen Rania's skirt is awful. The top has the same shape and quality as we worn in the 60s under a sweater to have warm. It was called a "sous-pull" back then. It was and sometimes still is worn under a ski outfit. I like the brown color and her pretty handbag. The yellow shoes are a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Matarella looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think both ladies look very good. Q. Rania’s outfit is interesting and different, but she can carry off the exaggerated silhouette because she’s tall and slim. I love her choice of accessories too, the modern earrings and the yellow shoes.
ReplyDeleteLaura M has chosen well too. Matching the handbag colour to the dress and then choosing a different shoe colour is a clever way to add some interest to her more traditional outfit. (V.M.)
Maybe some of you remember Letizia once wearing an otherwise normal skirt with an enormous hole in it? That was purposeless, a surprise effect, but nothing that enhanced her appearance. This unusual skirt is more than that. A wide skirt, but tight at the hips, which makes a beautiful rounded body contour and connects well with the tight top, instead of bulging out at the waist like wide skirts often do. The yellow heels are exactly that pop of colour that lights up the outfit without interfering with it. I like all of it - it is demure for a religious topic, but without being boring. This is very well done for me. - What I don't like is the snake-like fringes hanging into her face (I don't like them on anyone).
ReplyDeleteI actually like this outfit, but not for this occasion. The full floor-length just looks out of place; it would be appropriate for a day event in a very conservative country like Saudi Arabia, or for an evening event anywhere. I think the skirt’s outsize harem-pants silhouette is quite attractive on Rania; not everyone could wear it successfully, but she is one of those lucky ladies who manage to look marvelous in almost anything.
ReplyDeleteHarem pants that is the word I was searching for. Quite fitting for the region
DeleteMrs. Laura Mattarella looks amazingly classy and elegant. Beautiful and well-fitting dress, nice hairstyle, delicate classic jewelry. Pink is a beautiful color, but not everyone know s to wear it. And as the president´s daughter who performs the function of the first lady of Italy, she certainly has a much smaller budget for fashion than the queens who regularly appear here on this blog..
ReplyDeleteMaxima of the Netherlands could learn something from Mrs. Laura Mattarella.

Okay, this doesn't even look good on the model. From the waist up is fine but I don't know what's going on below the waist and why anyone would think it's a good look. This is a good example of when clothing starts crossing the line into costuming.
ReplyDeleteI don’t like the style of the outfit but I love the splash of colour her yellow shoes!
ReplyDeleteNot a wow outfit and yellow shoes? The First lady looks stunning.

Rania can wear everything.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure . Are the shirt and the skirt made of the same fabric? Perhaps in real life it looks good. Shiny skirt and matte shirt. CC
