Well, one more exceptional hemline today that I surprise myself by liking it. Probably because this, too, has a special purpose: it is special display for that that chequered flap in the skirt, instead of being all around uneven without doing anything else than looking rugged. She looks fabulous and those arms of her are adorable.

This coat needs to pick one or the other in terms of fabric. Other than that QM looks wonderful, love the boots.

I thought the same thing pick one fabric. I really wanted to like this coat. I have seen other people wear this mix and match fabric with asymmetrical hems recently. I can’t say I like it but that is fashion.

I agree with you completely. I also don't like the handkerchief hemline but that's a personal thing with me. I love her hairstyle too.

  3. J'aime beaucoup le haut de sa robe asymétrique mais pas du tout le style de son manteau ; ses boucles d'oreilles sont composées de petits rubis montés sur or ?!

Well this is a really goodlooking queen!
Here she dares to be the sophisticated middle-aged woman she is becoming, and it suits her very well.
Wonderfull coat-dress combination, not too formal, and wel-kemp’s coiffure.
    More of this please!

  5. Oh my, I love the dress, style, fabric and wonderful tailoring. The coat is fine but could also be done in just one of the fabrics. The boots are lovely, hair, makeup and jewelry are very nice. The way she is holding the purse in the first picis a bit unfortunate. We can't decide if she's holding a pizza slice a panzerotta or a fully loaded hot dog. ;^)

Not a bad look. It looks like they run out of one fabric so a different was used. O well I am not wearing it.

I quite like the combination of the grey and tan - and she's styled beautifully for the occasion. My only small quibble are the (non-existent) dress sleeves. It's still pretty wintery and she either has to keep the coat over her shoulders (fine, but impractical) or stands out in the sea of turtlenecks and cardigans.

Queen Maxima looks so captivating and I love the dress/coat ensemble. A nice modern twist of sophistication.

  10. I don't particularly like the dress nor the coat, but it all suit her well, colour, nice accent in the nail polish, great accessories, the hair is nicely done. It's a win for me

Wasn’t she JUST in New York? For all the complaining we do about her hair, she is a very admirable queen.

Agenda très chargé pour Maxima qui hier encore était aux USA. Je n’aime pas ce manteau qui se veut original.

The overall look is ok, but sleeveless in combination with the thick fabric looks cold and not stylish in this time if the year. I would prefer another outfit for this visit. I don’t like this granny hair, she looks like her older sister. Nice new earrings.

I really like this look. Everything - from her hair down to her boots. I also like the mixed fabrics, and the design of the asymmetrical skirt. A bit quirky, but still stylish. Max looks fab!

This ensemble of coat and dress is at least 2 or 3 years old. Normally I am not a big fan of uneven hemlines, but in this ensemble with the assymetric arrangement of the fabric, I think it is not bad at all. I like the dress with the boots. If the coat was a short jacket it would have been better. The cognac handbag by Gucci is also very old but goes well together with the cognac boots. On a Dutch website I saw a close-up picture of the new earrings. They are made of gold and cabochon style dark orange gem stones. The name of the gem stone was described but I never heard of it. It was in Dutch and I cannot translate it. They are lovely.

  19. For some reason I really like the dress including all the potential issues--sleeveless, uneven hem and mixed fabric but I don't like the coat at all. It's the same fabric combo as the dress but while I feel the dress works I think the coat would look much better in just one pattern

What's the problem with sleeveless in winter - I don't get it. Same as "don't wear white in winter" - why not. And why not be the only one to be sleeveless, does it hurt anybody present or anybody looking at the photos? She looks adorable from top to toes.

    Now, Queen Maxima looks sensational.
That's a tricky combo to wear.
I mean that it's not for everyone.
You need a tall and well- shaped body frame to pull It all off and Maxima truly succeeded in making the best of this ensemble.
The sleeveless dress needs well toned arms to shine and Maxima has le physique du role!
    So, strike!!
Her cognac coloured boots are gorgeous.
Hair and makeup are on point.
    Well done, Maxima!
