On February 13, 2025, Queen Máxima visited the primary schools Sint Fransschool and OBS Emmermeer in Emmen as part of the initiative ‘More Art and Culture in School and Community’. The program at the schools is carried out by professionals from education, cultural parties, and the municipality. Students have the opportunity to participate in art and cultural activities after school, which they often do not have access to at home.
At Sint Fransschool, Queen Máxima attended a dance lesson where children showcased what they had learned so far. On the schoolyard of OBS Emmermeer, students welcomed Queen Máxima with a performance led by a percussionist. Queen Máxima is honorary chair of the initiative More Music in the Classroom.
Whoa nelly. Quite the eye full. I don’t like the shaggy look of the coat, though the pattern is okay. With the pants…a bit much. Only a tall thin person could wear these pants without being swallowed up. Not a look I appreciate.
ReplyDeleteClown show! 🤨
ReplyDeleteExactly my thoughts!
DeleteShe’s got no boundary nor taste.
Made my day!!!
DeleteVery very unsuitable and inappropriate outfit...
Even her put-on grin for the camera and the public...
Indeed, she really knows NO limits....ANYMORE
Oh dear
ReplyDeleteSorry, Queen Maxima, this time your outfit is not beautiful at all. Especially the pants I do not like and the coat is too long. If the pants were in plain navy or white and the coat was shorter, I think it would be better. On the pictures taken outside one can see it is snowing, so the outfit is probably warm enough.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Not beautiful at all. The long coat itself is not great and it’s difficult to see how the the wide patterned trousers would ever look good. Even on someone with Queen Maxima’s figure, they make her look huge. Sorry, a total fail this time
DeleteAnnieM
I think the cost is beautiful, but the wideleg trousers in this check print gives me clown vibes and makes her too broad imo
ReplyDeleteOh dear 🫢😳
ReplyDeleteWell, well what a beautiful outfit, lol
ReplyDeleteAva
I see an outfit to break up the monotony of winter. It is intriguing, it looks like the coat and the slacks are the same plaid, though the coat has added yarns: angora? mohair? maybe even an added stripe of color. Nice outfit. Christine
ReplyDeleteI agree! Well said Christine.
DeleteI agree on the first sentence, but that is probably the only positive thing we can say... What a contrast with the two nice outfits of the beginning of the week.
DeleteI'll go a step further, I cannot help thinking that Dutch people would see the one here as "that is how she is wasting our money".
Hello @Christine. Do you know what, I agree with you. The only thing I would change is the length of the coat. Knee length could be better imo.
DeleteI have a short woolen coat with almost the same colours and I love it. This winter has been very warm here in the northern countries (climat change 🤨) and there hasn't been much need for padded jackets.
Oh...this is a lot. Natan strikes again. I read that she wore these pants in 2019. So much plaid reminds me of a few of Victoria's plaid suits, but this ensemble is much worse. If it was just the coat, shortened, she could probably make it work with her big personality and solid color pants and top. The pants look huge on her. Adding the fluffy, furry pants to the matching coat is making me think Muppets. If her goal was to be warm in the snow flurries, I have to believe she has more attractive options.
ReplyDeleteDoes she really expect people to consider her a "queen" when she can't be bothered to take care of her hair when she has public appearances? God, what a mess, and the fuzzy bathrobe of a coat, plus the clown pants, don't give much credibility either.
ReplyDeleteDis
Well Dis, she is absolutely queen, and well respected. Being queen is not about perfection but engagement and she does it beautifully. She carries enormous credibility.
DeleteDis, how are credibility and clothing interconnected? Please elaborate, but this time maybe with a minimum amount of politeness when criticizing another human being?
DeleteI fully agree with Anons 20:44 and 22:10. Being well dressed does not have anything to do with a person's character. As for her hair, that subject has been discussed excessively.
DeleteI am more on Dis’ side
DeleteDis, totally agree! She has the money, time, everyone on hand to help her, yet she continually wears her hair in a mess, when it totally reflects on her as a person, which does call into question her credibility. Look at the hair, what must people who meet her think, especially, young impressionable children!!
DeleteOh my word! this outfit is so long and hairy, but she is always smiley.
ReplyDeleteWow! I didn't know the circus was in town!
ReplyDeleteMarie
Mad about plaid, but this is too much of a good thing. Just the coat would be enough.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
Well, I don't know ........ I'm going to put the kettle on and have a think.
ReplyDeleteI will come and join you for a cup of tea!
DeleteGoing back to the silverware, luckily ours do have our initials and yes we use them for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I always tell my kids beautiful things are to be enjoyed and not kept away for to the big occasions. Everyday is a good day.
And about this outfit... Oh well, we all have had horrendous fashion moments
Luna
Hello Luna
DeleteWell I’ve had my “think” and a cuppa and I’ve decided to be positive.
A negative word about Queen Max will never be said by me.
So I’ll just say, “it’s different isn’t it?” 😁
Well said, @ Deadeggs 11:14!
DeleteOh non Maxima, elle nous a habitués à beaucoup mieux !
ReplyDeleteWhat a horrible coat. She looks shaggy in it
ReplyDeleteThe coat is in fact quite beautiful, the fabric exquisite. The pants are horrible, but let's consider the fact that she is wearing those pants not to a state dinner, but for a primary school visit. So looking a bit funny is not that much out of place. I have to love her for her extremes ... because she of course knows very well how to look breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteThe pupils of the primary school may have had a good laugh seeing her.
DeleteChildren's minds are not critical like adults minds. Different things please them. I think Maxima knows this very well, and I cannot imagine the kids were anything but ecstatic to have her with them. They couldn't care what she was wearing as long as it was bright and colourful.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Oh my. That is a lot of plaid.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
I love this! Very appropriate for a school visit and cleverly fun. Suits her tall figure well too.
ReplyDelete-B.
Dreadful...
ReplyDeleteOh dear--more stadium blanket clothes! Actually, this coat looks like a warm, snuggly winter bathrobe while the trousers look like pajama pants. Many of the students at US schools love to wear pajama pants--it's considered very fashionable. Sorry, Queen Maxima, has widely missed the mark here--this outfit is a huge NO from me.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Oh no! Dear Maxima, you have to dial this one back. Too much going on here.
ReplyDeleteMaybe just the coat worn with solid navy pants to match the solid top - you could get away with. But maybe the kids liked it. She looks like an alpaca.
My goodness, that is a truly dreadful outfit - oversized, shaggy, furry, baggy - all in one ensemble. I don’t know what else to say except please put this in the donation bin. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThat coat will certainly keep her warm!
ReplyDeleteL.O.L.
DeleteA big red nose and oversized shoes would make the outfit complete :(
ReplyDeleteSuzieQ
Perfect comment:)))))
DeleteI agree with all who said that the coat is gorgeous - it really is. The warm, slightly furry texture of whatever wool material it is, and the blurry plaid pattern. I also like the colours. As for the trousers, I wish they weren't so wide. I could live with a narrower style given that they're plaid.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
She likes it. She is not asking anyone's opinion. Get over it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a idiotic comment!
DeleteAva
This is a comment section about fashion. So, naturally, everyone's opinion on outfits might get out in the open here. It's about our likes and dislikes, not necessarily about what the royal person might have liked about it. We wouldn't know anyway, although one would think that the person in question must have taken a fancy on the items worn, otherwise she or he wouldn't have left the house/the palace in the first place. But overall, this IS about our opinions on it. In this particular case (Queen Máxima wearing the above shown combination), I am liking the pieces as such but not worn together. That clearly is a little overwhelming, imho.
DeleteWith QM it’s getting to the stage, were she only ever looks well put together at state dinners or if she’s wearing one of her large hats with a simple mono colored suit.
ReplyDeleteThis ensemble is an eyesore! What possessed to think this was a flattering choice!
Lowri.
LOL. ~~Ruthie
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know snuggies were part of the royal wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh. It is giving a Snuggie vibe.
DeleteWow what was she thinking. This is really ugly. She can do so much better.
ReplyDeletecss
I don't like this outfit, but the Queen wears it well.
ReplyDeleteOMG WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO QUEEN MAXIMA??? She loves the Natan crap " Couture" which isn't at all! I get thin hair, humid and just bad days but, she and Queen Let of Spain were top notch. Princess Steph of Lux is becoming more interesting.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm having a bad day but, I'm not wrong! Don't waste your time replying but, I don't care! My opinion and I kept it on point.
wow, Maxima lets it rip again!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great, who else but her can wear such an outfit?
I would rather turn it, fortunately others are not wearing this sort of outfit. Everyone knows that "couture" clothes are sometimes only for the show, and the best thing is to stay away from it.
DeleteAgree!
DeleteCommenter: it needs a pop of color
Maxima: yes
*I agree with anon at 6:22
DeleteOh dear…..
ReplyDeleteOut in the snow with kids? What’s not to love about this soft and warm coat. Tall Maxima can get away with this length of coat, especially on a cold day and an outdoor engagement, and she looks joyful and cosy in it. For the trousers I’m less fond, but this is often how Natan appears to me: that the garments don’t particularly sit well on real humans.
ReplyDeletePoor kids! I hope she didn’t frighten them. You can’t get away with everything
ReplyDeleteOh, no not again Corny, this can't go on!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt could easily been made much better: shorten the coat, that in itself is òf beautiful material and pattern, and wear a pair of dark blue trousers; or: wear these trousers and a darkblue coat, but not BOTH.
ReplyDeleteI also think it would be good to abandon comments on her hair, yes I will try to stick to it . However I read this tough one elsewhere and thought it sadly applies: " a just rescued woman's hair".
ReplyDeleteI find myself liking this coat and the blue turtleneck underneath.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I think that, with proper alterations , this coat would be a winning number i.e.
a shorter length and a more structured and buttoned model could serve the purpose.
I don't t like the panta.
I feel that more fitted trousers and in the same color as the turtleneck would have been lovely.
Queen Maxima's smile and joy while playing and talking with children are priceless.
Just awful from head to toe. Her hair is the usual "just roll out of bed and go without doing anything. Her outfit is loud, ugly and not attractive. The biggest smile in the world cannot overcome all this.
ReplyDeleteRenay
Anonymous 15:38
DeleteThanks to God, the biggest and sincere smile when interacting with children is a gift.
The Queen has not lost it and can still enjoy life, if you know what I mean.
Children are not as judgemental and nasty as some adults can be and this is also a gift from Heaven imo.
They must have been so thrilled about seeing a real Queen playing and talking with them and that's s all that mattered to them.
I'm not wild about this outfit either but I refrain from casting baseless shadows on Maxima over and over again like you do.
Finally, please, read and try to elaborate the beautiful and true comment from @ - Anon.9:13
14/2/25 - 14:07.
That's all is there to know about Maxima on this wonderful visit.
Do you really need to put her down repeatedly. like this?
If you don't like her, you can just move on and look at better dressed royal ladies, no?
I agree with Renay.
DeleteTo P. the original, having a big smile and interacting with children is a gift many others have too. This comment section is all about making judgement (giving opionions) . The children may have been thrilled to meet someone who is called "queen", or maybe not. Those are your assumptions. FInally, I did not read anything that Renay wrote that "cast baseless shadows." She was giving her opinion. If you do not like it or agree...maybe you should move on.
OMG!! What’s wrong with her??!!
ReplyDeleteShe's always good for a laugh. She has terrible taste.
