On February 25, 2025, Queen Camilla visited the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in Canterbury to unveil a life-size bronze statue of Aphra Behn, who is considered the first professional female writer in the English language and one of the most popular playwrights of the 17th century. The Queen then toured the museum and watched the Royal Shakespeare Company perform an extract from The Rover, one of Behn's plays.
Aphra Behn was born near Canterbury in 1640. She died on April 16, 1689, and was buried in Westminster Abbey. Behn was the first professional female writer in English literature. She is also known to have acted as a British spy in Antwerp in 1666. Her best-known works include Oroonoko: or, The Royal Slave, sometimes described as an early novel, and the play The Rover.
I am the same age as Camilla and follow one iron rule: No beige. Or: no beige anywhere near the face. But if it has to be this coat: not without a little colourful shawl or loop tucked in around the neck. Which has two great advantages: 1. adds colours 2. hides the neck.
ReplyDeleteBeige is a great color. She doesn't look washed out because she has just the right amount of make-up on.
DeleteI think it's an overall good look.
Kim
With the best intentions: why not? I think it can be very elegant.
DeleteFor instance in this case: it's a winter outfit with spring in sight, as it is warm yet light.
Luna
I agree with Kim and Luna, Queen Camilla looks beautiful and elegant in this beige. It doesn’t wash her out, in fact she looks radiant.
DeleteI like that the queen owns her age. Every wrinkle is a win - not many are lucky enough to reach that age. She is aging gracefully and it is evident she is comfortable in her own skin (I hope to feel the same at her age).

Her signature look, however I do not particularly like the lacing edge.
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla seems to have cut her hair. This fluffy hairdo looks fresh and becoming. The boots are not to my liking, somewhat chunky.

I like the boots. I think they look nice. I am thrilled that she is wearing a different pair of boots!
DeleteI like the boots too! I’ve come to accept her love of suede boots and these are a nice change from her black ones. (V.M.)
Delete"Beige is the new black!" Bianca Ingrosso
ReplyDeleteOh, I really hope not
DeleteBeige, off-white, white, cream all colors which are fashion since the last 3 years and can be worn the whole year. A bit thicker fabric during autumn and winter months of course. AnnieM where do you live ?
DeleteIt doesn't mean you cannot wear other colors as well.
Like this soft colour on her very much: her hair is light enough not to make it mousy.
ReplyDeleteUne tenue que je lui ai déjà vue dans une autre couleur ; je n'aime pas du tout les bords particuliers de son manteau ; par contre, ravie que Camilla ait choisi des bottes très souples qui améliorent son look !

ReplyDeleteThe colour is too meh, but otherwise, I like this outfit, with the unusual fastening of the coat. Agree with Anon 14 06 re beige and similar dull colours for older women---and men! This time I think the boots look great. Well done, Queen Camiilla
ReplyDeletePicture no.1- Queen Camilla's eyebrows are too dark, a softer brown would look better.

She looks good here. Love her boots !
ReplyDeleteThis coat works really nicely with QC's refreshed hair color. I like the slightly brighter lippies she's been using lately. The almond toe boots with a nice heel are a great touch. I have serious handbag envy.
ReplyDeleteLes bottes beiges sont jolies et lui vont bien.
ReplyDeleteLa petite fille est rigolote sur la dernière photo avec son petit bouquet.
C'est agréable de voir les jonquilles qui annoncent le printemps. Paloma.
Beautiful coat and I love the boots! Queen Camilla looks lovely here--I particularly like the 3rd photo. The braiding (?) down the front of her coat is beautifully done and adds a flair to the beige/camel coat. Her hair is extra full and bouncy today--marvelous look for her.
