On February 18, 2025, Queen Camilla hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace in London, featuring special performances to celebrate the talented actors, staff, and supporters behind the National Theatre (NT). The theatre was founded by Laurence Olivier in 1963 and serves as a performing arts venue and theatre company based in London.

Queen Camilla was joined by A-listers, including two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett, We Live In Time star Andrew Garfield, Gavin & Stacey creator and star James Corden, and British actress Sharon D. Clarke. Other attendees included Downton Abbey star Jim Carter and his wife, Imelda Staunton, who portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, as well as Lesley Manville, who played Princess Margaret.

The Queen was also introduced to Indhu Rubasingham, who is set to become the National Theatre's first-ever female director and joint chief executive alongside executive director Kate Varah. Queen Camilla became patron of the National Theatre in 2022, a role previously held by the Duchess of Sussex from 2019 to 2021, and before that, by Queen Elizabeth II.

What a very fun event this must have been! Not only some very choice theatre veterans present, but also the cast of "The Importance of Being Ernest", one of the hottest theatre tickets!!! Oh, to have been there...

I think she is a beauty also. It’s her genuineness and happy demeanor that make her glow.

Lorraine (Rose).

It's a pity Camilla didn't wear something bright and cheery;she seems to wear outdoor clothes to indoor functions(same old dresses;and she has a huge budget) I love the yellow outfit and the chaps in the light coloured suits.I like Cate's outfit (Tara)

    1. she is definitely more about substance than style and for a busy woman in her seventies that makes sense. she can frock up when the occasion really demands it

Oh please, 22:39 - except for the lady in the yellow dress, are any of the other guests we see dressed "bright and cheery"? It's winter, we wear mostly darkish colors, maybe it's cool inside. Camilla is old, I'm older than Camilla - old fogeys like to dress warm in winter lol. My goodness! ~~Ruthie

The 'yellow outfit' and 'the chaps in white suits' are stage costumes from a play, lol.

The first time I hear that dark clothes are warmer than bright clothes. There has never been so much choice in bright and white or off-white clothes during winter than since the last 3 years. I am older than Camilla too but I refuse to wear dark clothes. Only in a combination with a bright or light color I wear something dark. I never wear boots inside a room. I assume Camilla has always a chauffeur who conducts her to the place she must go, so she doesn't need boots to take a few steps from the car to the place where she attends a reception or a conference. I am dressing myself warm enough to fight against the cold in bright sweaters, woolen jackets, cream pants. If wearing a dress is recommended, there are warm dresses in fine wool and not to forget there is thermic underwear. Princess Diana wore already the "thermolactyl" underwear by Damart when she had to stay longtime outside for a rememberance or an event during autumn or winter. I am not going to talk about the style (there is no style) of the dresses she wear. Only when she is wearing a gala dress Queen Camilla looks better. She has several beautiful gala dresses.

Paloma.
