On February 7, 2025, Prince Nikolaos of Greece married Chrysi Vardinogianni at St. Nikolaos Ragavas Church in Athens in a religious wedding ceremony. The bride wore a wedding gown by Greek designer Christos Costarellos and Queen Anne-Marie’s Antique Corsage Tiara. Around 50 close friends and family members of the bride and groom attended the wedding.
Among the wedding guests were Queen Sofia, Princess Irene and Infanta Cristina, Queen Anne-Marie, Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie-Chantal, Princess Alexia and Carlos Morales Quintana, Princess Theodora and Matthew Kumar, Princess Benedikte, Princess Alexandra, Prince Gustav, and Princess Carina.
At the wedding ceremony, Queen Anne-Marie wore a coat by Max Mara, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal wore a dress by Emilia Wickstead, Princess Benedikte wore a dress by Wichmann Couture, Princess Alexandra wore a fuchsia guipure lace dress by Costarellos, and Princess Theodora wore a dress by Max Mara.
Feel sorry for Tatiana. ''The lack of money is the root of all evil.''
ReplyDeleteSono d'accordo con te.
DeleteRossella
Tatiana?? Who are you talking about?
DeleteTatiana was the first wife of Prince Nikolaos - they divorced last summer.
DeleteChrysi comes from a very wealthy family.
DeleteThey divorced in april. When they split up, no one knows. She has moved on, so should we.
DeleteIs Chrysi now a princess of Greece and Denmark?
ReplyDeletePrincess Irene looked mighty fine. As did Queen Anne-Marie. Princess Alexandra opted for the same greek designer who also was responsible for the bridal gown. Princess Carina (I know, I know, she is Carina Princess SWB) disappointed me this time, her lilac number reminded me of a - sorry! - nightgown.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. The brides dress is stunning! I love the slim silhouette. Princess Nikolaos bears an ever stronger similarity to his late father. Love the dresses worn by Crown Princess Marie-Chantal, Princesses Benedikte and Alexandra
ReplyDeleteAnnieM
I love the gown as well. The gown does, indeed, have a slim silhouette and is very flattering on her. I suspect that the top of the dress is removable for the reception. The post about their wedding rehearsal had no less than 5 comments rudely suggesting the bride-to-be was pregnant because she wore an untucked t-shirt. I think we can see that those speculating were most likely wrong.
DeleteThe brides dress is beautiful in it's style and simplicity.
ReplyDeleteI also like P. Benedikte and her daughter's dress, both in fuschia, except that I think the "frill" on the daughter's dress is positioned too high and should have been a few inches lower. The way it is makes it look like the dress is too small for her - maybe it is - and not very tasteful. The top part from the waist up looks OK.
I don't much care for any of the other dresses.

Princess Tatiana of Greece and Denmark!!! His FIRST Wife of many years!!!
ReplyDeleteIs the groom wearing black trousers with a navy blazer? Brides dress is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that as well. The jacket and trousers do appear to be two different colors.
DeleteLooks like a expensive wedding dress, beautiful made.
ReplyDeleteThe wedding dress is by Greek designer Christos Costarellos and he only does (very) expensive wedding dresses. I like the simplicity of the design.
DeleteOne of the reasons Christos Costarellos’ work is so expensive is because he has always worked with high end, luxury fabrics e.g. French lace, hand-beaded lace, sequined tulle, silks etc.
DeleteOne fashion source has said that the gown is composed of “an illusion neckline with lace sleeves and intricate beading on the bodice and skirt.
Hello, Deadeggs.
DeleteI do like your informative comments on brands and their work.
Although I would call myself a " fashion- pasionaria", I must confess I do not know much of what lies behind fashion houses.
I just go for what I like but I'm keen on high- end brands in particular.
I want to add that luxury Is not always a synonym of best quality and comfort.
I mean, I once bought a pair of top quality court shoes, pricey and gorgeous ( I omit the brand, a well - known one).
It didn't prove to be my best purchase.
Of course, it might only have depended on the shoe model and others factors or it was just me.
However, this wedding dress is truly a work of art.
Princess Bene looks beautiful, love her gown. The pearls worn are stunning. The bride looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry but absolutely not, certainly not in combination with de black shoes and bag. I’m not impressed by the clothing. Many look cheap. PC ca va. QAM looks elegant. Bride not so much either. I’m rather disappointed.
DeleteYou are entitled to your opinion. Have a great day!
DeleteI agree. She looks great. Would I have worn a different pair of shoes? Yes, but I'm not 80 years old. Comfort and stability become more important as we age :)
DeleteCinci
@Anon 23:38 shoes and bag are NOT black they are dark navy blue!
DeleteAva
Anon 02.02 That is a great point and I agree with you. Comfort shoes are the priority, especially at her age, though she looks marvellous,. Well said.
DeleteAll the women look lovely in different ways. However I wonder about the grooms outfit, I think it looks strange with a dark blue suit and black trousers - is that something international I don’t know about. Also the light blue tie looks plastic…….I don’t know about these things just like looking! Carina
ReplyDeleteLooks like he came from work and did not bothered to change. Very strange not to wear a suit.
ReplyDeleteElisa! My sentiment exactly! Or is it the right dress vide for Greek men? Looks so strange to me to. Carina
DeleteWhat a beautiful bridal gown, perfect for a mature bride. Queen Sofia looks like she has a pretty bejeweled jacket under her coat. Princess Irene in her green velvet slacks. A very handsome family.
ReplyDeleteCe n'est pas joli la "nappe" sur la robe de Théodora.
ReplyDeleteAucune tenue ne me fait rêver. La reine Sofia me fait penser à une avocate.
Le papa de la mariée est très touchant. Paloma.
Everyone looks...not quite their best. Not a fan of the cut-out of the bride's dress, although the beading is lovely. The groom looks disheveled and the rest of the fashion is a bit disappointing.
ReplyDeleteThe brides father is wearing sneakers. Well it was meant to be low key private friends and family, so I guess it shows.
DeleteWhere is prince Philippos?
DeletePrince Philippos ?
DeleteI was going to ask the same question.
Would be nice to have seen Princess Nina. ??
Something is just just not right about this day. They look embarrassed it’s happening. We all have to move on in life some quicker than others. Days leading up to the wedding the bride did not look well. There was no affection shown between the bride and groom. His sister ( Princess) sorry do not know her name, looks shocking in the blouse and skirt. The Grooms out fit black pants and navy jacket. The brides dress very elegant.

DeleteSure they are looking unhappy...
Who are these people? Greece is a republic. Members of the former royal family of Greece are not allowed to use their titles anymore.
ReplyDeleteYes they can, it is a title just like doctor, lady, countess
DeleteIt is very clear who these people are. It is stated at the top of the article. Thank you for the information that Greece is a republic. I think most people here knew that already. Why should they not use their titles? Do you object to the Romanian or Serbian royal families in the same way?
DeleteFair comment Beth! Certainly in Greece they are legally not to use their titles, and only by accepting this were they allowed to regain citizenship to the republic. I do not know why one of your respondents here has answered you so snarkily , possibly having a really bad day, but you’ve done nothing wrong questioning these titles especially as the wedding was in Greece where they are not to use their ex titles.
DeleteWhen Greece in the 19th century needed a new king (they had thrown out the earlier) they chose a prince of Denmark. This prince made an argeement with his father (the king of Denmark) that he even after becoming the king of Greece has the right to the title "prince of Denmark". That old agreement is still valid - and Denmark is still a monarchy, so they can use titles "prince" and "princess".

Congratulations to the couple, the first day of the rest of their lives together. I like the Wedding gown simple but nice. It seems all married in wear the same Tiara. A nice turn out. Nice to see Gustav and Corina there as well. The best dressed IMO was Benedikte and Marie Chantal also Sofia. The least good dress was Theodoras, the color yes but the style no. Matthew sure likes the Cameras. So nice to see Irene, liked her hairstyle Best wishes to the couple, for the future
ReplyDeletecss
wishes to the couple.
Sorry but there is a skeeviness about Matthew, fake smile and all.
DeleteThe bridal gown was simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteIt's elegant and simple...also fits perfectly and has a touch of sexy without being garish like a lot of gowns now on the market.

DeleteI know this is a blog about fashion. However I feel really uncomfortable to notice the smile and happiness of all, not just the newlyweds, while there is someone suffering. Having been through the exact same circumstances (speedy remariage of my ex, the love of my life), I really don't understand the rush to get married again so fast. And I understand the suffering of mourning a husband, a family, hopes and dreams. Such speedy remariage, all the welcoming of the in-law, as the ex daughter/sister in law doesn't exist anymore, is far from being noble.
ReplyDeleteNo one cares about her any more..
Delete@ Sophie T
We can't know what is going on in this family or how they feel. We don't know how long the first marriage was in trouble or the reasons behind the divorce. Statements have been released from the Greek Royal family supporting both Tatiana and Nikolaos at the time of their divorce, and expressing support for Tatiana after the divorce. It is unreasonable to think Nikolaos' family would not be happy for him on his wedding day. After so many years together, I can imagine most people would have feelings about their former spouse moving on, especially so quickly. I'm sorry your "Happily Ever After" did not work out, but it sounds like your personal unhappiness is tainting your view of this wedding. Only time will tell if this marriage will be a happy one, but they should be given a chance to be happy without all the judgement.
DeleteInteresting what you say, Sophie T. I don’t get good vibes.
DeleteI would have gone for a “non-rushed”, low-key family event.
But then I’m very old fashioned.
I remember reading once that a big percentage of divorced men remarry within two years of the divorce.
Nonetheless, I wish them peace and happiness for the future.
Anon 09:09..rather a harsh statement about Tatiana, no? Surely she has many people in her life who care very much about her!
DeleteWe really don’t know how long they have been seeing each other, and the families have know each other for many years.
DeleteThank you all for your thoughts...
DeleteSophie we don't know when they split up, only when they announced their divorce. Media also say he started seeing his old friend in june last year. Could it be so easy that two old friends got together because they both were dealing with divorces and feeling grew out of this? Can we gove them them benefit of a doubt here? Maybe there is a reason for a speedy marriage time will tell or is it just love. Who cares? Just wish them all the best for the future.
DeleteI agree 100% with Anon 10:26
DeleteYour comments are exactly what I would have said but you said it perfectly. After a divorce, everyone must move on. Life is too short.
- Anon 9:13
@anon 10:26, you wrote very wise words. My thoughts are similar with yours. Who are we to speculate and to judge because we know nothing about their feelings and lives.
DeleteThe bride's dress is very beautiful and elegant. The tiara is also beautiful, nothing wrong to weare it because it's not a personal (or ex wife's) item.
All of this looks like a thrown together wedding or a shotgun wedding as we say here. No one looks put together like would be usual even for a low key royal wedding. Quick! Pack a bag and get to Greece, we have a wedding! She looks miserable, her dad and Nics ties aren't straight. Hate the zigzag pattern across the chest is horrible. Bottom of the dress is fine because the pattern isn't as noticeable. I'm not on board with any of this.
ReplyDeleteHow nice...
DeleteThis reads like a very sour comment. May you have a happier day tomorrow.
Delete"I'm not on board with any of this." That explains your commentary. It doesn't have any effect on you personally, so why make such a fuss and look for a negative angle on every aspect of this wedding?
DeleteThe bride looks lovely. I think I would prefer her dress without the zigzag cutout at the top, but it has a pretty silhouette and her veil and the tiara look very nice. I like Princess Carina’s outfit - the purple shades and the pearl necklace look soft and romantic. Princess Benedikte looks elegant and immaculate, as usual.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
Thanks for the info about Tatiana. I'm not very knowledgeable about the Greek royal family.
ReplyDeleteWhere was brother Philippos?
ReplyDeleteこのドレスの脇の下のたるみを見せるデザインは感心しません。
ReplyDeleteYes happens as we age, even on well toned arms
DeleteVery pretty dress and the cut out, zig zag shoulder area is original. The bride looked lovely though her hair seemed to need more taming. Does anyone else think she looks a little like Tatiana with her blonde hair and light eyes?
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of most of the dresses but elegant Benedikte stands out in her fuchsia dress. The color suits her well. The daughters of Alexia and Carlos are stunningly beautiful young women. And sorry to say but to me the sons of Pavlos and Marie Chantal are giving out arrogant vibes.
The bridal veil not for the second wedding and after 40th. Everyone is dressed very badly (even the bride) except Marie-Chantal. Irene
ReplyDeleteThis is her third wedding. Chrysí was previously married to director Konstantinos Markoulakis and to Greek singer Stefanos Xypolitas, known as Nino.
DeleteSo SHE is the one who says "Next one please"? And each time she wears a white dress and a veil?
DeleteIt is very common for brides to wear a gown and veil the second time around. Maybe the thought is that the first marriage was a mistake of youth and they want to have a fresh start with a beautiful wedding for the marriage they are sure will be everlasting this time. It does look a little ridiculous when it is the third marriage. That being said, times have changed. I don't see us going back to observing traditional wedding etiquette.
DeleteIs the tiara the same one worn by Tatiana? I hope not! Irene
ReplyDeleteIt is. The Greek Antique Corsage Tiara is usually worn by all brides marrying into the (former) Greek Royal Family. The Khedive of Egypt Tiara is usually worn by all brides that had been born into the Greek/Danish Royal Family (being of royal descent).
DeleteDidn’t know that, thank you for the information. I did notice Alexia wore a different one for her wedding.
DeleteIf she had not been offered the use of, or decided not to wear the Antique Corsage tiara, there would have been speculation that the family was not in support of this marriage. I don't think she could win either way.
Deletethecourtjewellery, writes that the tiara is the same as the first wife's. “Caduta di stile” Irene
ReplyDeleteUn bel diadema in testa non si nega a nessuno
ReplyDeleteP Alexandras pink dress is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI donot understand such a bridal gown for a second marriage for both
ReplyDeleteThis is her third wedding.
DeleteLol isn’t she a catch
DeleteLOL you did realise this backfired? 😂🤣
DeleteWhere is prince Philippos?
ReplyDeleteWhere is prince Philippos?
ReplyDeleteI think the dress is interesting. She is wearing the same tiara as Princess Tatiana about 15 years ago. For me this is strange and tasteless.
ReplyDelete... as if he wants to say "Next one please"...
DeleteCreo que es de muy mal gusto que la novia lleve la misma tiara que llevó Tatiana
DeleteThe bride's gown is one of the loveliest I have seen in years. Simple and extraordinary at the same time. What a pity that the bride could not manage a clean hairdo without that side fringe flying around wholly unmotivated (good enough for the beach, not for a wedding and very definitely not with a tiara).
ReplyDeleteI love Princess Irene's defiantly green pants and golden shoes. ("I might be sitting in a wheelchair and my younger days are gone, but that does not mean I cannot honor a wedding with something extraordinary").
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the newlyweds!
ReplyDeleteThe bride is amazing.
I must confess I really feel sorry for Tatiana.
She is so beautiful and must have suffered a lot for different reasons.
Anyway , Tatiana' s unhappy marriage is nothing of my business so I respect everyone.
* none of my business
DeleteWho knows maybe she wanted out not him, happens to the best of society
DeleteThere’s a recent interview with her, with she herself saying that last year was incredibly hard for her. Between the lines we read that there was unfaithfulness and that she was very hurt. I hope she can recover fully and find happiness again. It is very hard to see your ex quickly remarried, whatever the story!
Delete17:44 we should stop thinking on our own. She has a step brother who went missing and still haven't been found on top of her divorce. You have know idea what she ment beside it was hard, understandable. So reading between the lines...please.
DeleteThe bride looks much younger than her age (44).
ReplyDeleteShe does not. I thought she looked more like 48 than 44.
Delete14:18 try to behave like an adult. This is what censor is for, and still...
DeleteAnonymous 16:29 This is her second marriage. She had a Romance only that ended late 2023.
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty, I'm a little disappointed by what I'm seeing.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't captivated by any of the outfits. It doesn't look like a royal wedding, nor that of a wealthy individual.
I was really left wanting more.
Perhaps this is due to the short time they had to prepare it.
As a result, they weren't able to organise the event to the best of their ability.
Nevertheless, I wish them much happiness, children (to ensure their posterity), love and fulfilment.
-Astrid.
Same here! Helena
DeleteAstrid, it doesn’t look like a royal wedding because it’s not. This family is not royal in Greece. It’s a private event and yes decided quickly. We are lucky to see a few pics as it was private, so if you’re left wanting more, well… that’s all we can expect from a private event! People looking unhappy in the pics can simply not be wanting their photo taken by a stranger.
DeleteEveryone knew this was a private wedding. The entitlement 🤦♂️
ReplyDeleteUnusual wedding gown with the cape in front and it's all one dress in the back. Clever. Kudos to the designer. Thanks for covering this event, Helen. All the ladies look lovely, pretty dresses. Marie-Chantal's choice is similar to Catherine of Wales's choices in blue dresses - something I would select myself. Christine
ReplyDeleteIt gives me Aristotoles Onasis vibes.
DeleteMarried in a hurry Jackie Kennedy.
Absolutely amazing dress. Her overall look is delightful. Wow!
ReplyDeleteMARIE
I really like Costarellos's creations.
ReplyDeleteGenerally speaking, I see fashion as an evolution and experimentation, not just as falling into stagnation and old- fashioned cliches.
In addition , I think that creation means exploring new dimensions , just like in any other art form.
It needs having an open mind and no biased views.
I see that Costarellos knows how to blend tradition and modernity into new captivating shapes.
Well done.
Where is the bride's daughter?
ReplyDeleteMaybe she ran of with prince Philippos 😀
ReplyDelete😄
DeleteHa ha ha! Well, its running in the family...
