Princess of Asturias, Leonor, is continuing her naval training on board the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano. The Spanish Royal Palace has released new photos of Princess Leonor taken aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano. The photos show Princess Leonor and her fellow midshipmen engaging in activities such as mast climbing, sail furling, and sextant positioning during their voyage aboard the 'Juan Sebastián de Elcano.'
The training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano will cover approximately 20,000 miles over the next six months. The ship has set sail for Brazil. During its voyage, which will include stops in Peru, Panama, Colombia, Santo Domingo, and New York, the ship is scheduled to return to Spain in July.
It must be difficult for the Princess and her mates to be followed so closely
ReplyDeleteThey are all in training and all made aware of what to except. Don’t forget that as future officers they are also being trained in diplomacy and etiquette, since they will be high profile with the royals.
DeleteYes I was thinking of this today after seeing pictures of the press that used to follow Charles and Diana on ski holidays. Twenty of so UK press / paparazzi photographers chasing for any photo during what should be a relaxing holiday. Must be hard on the kids as they start out on their independent lives.
DeleteNo paparazi photos here, so we can relax...
DeleteNo hay ningún extraño a bordo. Las fotos y vídeos los hacen los mismos marinos.
DeleteThe photographers are navy personnel as well. They are assigned to do photography and videography on board the vessels, not only for providing pictures of the Princess of Asturias, but also for documentary purposes, for naval archives, for general use on social media because also the Armed Forces use such platforms to show what they are up to, etc. No press people while sailing, unless the cadets disembark the ship and go for an official visit or event on land, where press might be invited to.
DeleteTo DSC, thank you for explaining. And just maybe no one objects to be photographed with the pretty Leonore.
DeletePictures are not taken everyday. They might also enjoy this extra publicity, which can make the profession attractive.

DeleteHow could you even think paparazzis/ press or strangers are allowed to embark this ship and take photographs of some kind throughout the voyage?
Why do you bring in Charles and Diana's ski holidays?
There's no connection whatsoever between such different cases.
Princess Leonor is TRAINING as part of her future role and this is no relaxing holiday..
She WORKS just like her mates in the crew.
Pictures are allowed in advance.
Nobody is chasing nobody else.
Yet again, what's your point in always comparing royals experiencing totally different situations?
It just makes no sense at all.
Hey P the original, I feel very taken aback at your aggressive response to me! All I was saying was that I was thinking today about a paparazzi scenario having just seen some old photos!!! And then I said it made me think that it can be hard on the youngsters to be photographed as they start out on an independent life. My views are considered and valid. Don’t you dare tell me I make not sense at all. Your comment is unprovoked and hurts my soft heart that simply said I was thinking about an old scenario and about how young royals might feel today. I’m completely flabbergasted by your words to me, a kind intelligent stranger to you.

I'm gonna wear sackcloth and ashes 😂.

P. the original. Hello, how are you? Thank you for your reply. I am fine thankyou. Much better, now. We are in the middle of some really hot weather. Totally over it! LOL! Cannot wait for Autumn, I love winter wear, much more than summer gear. Counting down the days! Hope you are doing well. I assume its still cold and snowing over your part of the world? Hugs
DeleteShe does a great job. Beautiful and smart. So glad it is her climbing the mast and not me.

ReplyDeleteThe princess of Asturia she is really smart and wonderful working royal next in line too take the thrown from her father King Felipe. Actually I appreciate you dear leanor Abdi Aden from Ethiopia
ReplyDeleteSpain must be proud of their future queen. Intelligent, capable, guapa and apparently has a great relationship with her parents. Who would not want to meet her. She's not the kind of person that will seek the company of celebrities and movie stars. When I see her picture, reminds me of Queen Isabel, la Católica. A very capable and beautiful lady.
