In the spring of 2025, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark will pay state visits to Finland and France, and the King will later make an accession visit to Japan. King Frederik and Queen Mary will travel on a state visit to Finland on March 4–5. Later in the month, from March 31 to April 2, the King and Queen are scheduled to pay a state visit to France. From April 23 to 25, King Frederik will pay an accession visit to Japan, where he will also participate in Expo 2025 in Osaka.
Elegant and regal. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAgree 100%. A stunning couple
DeleteQuelle superbe photo - Je peux penser que leur voyage en France ne se situera que sur Paris car j'aurais bien aimé les voir faire un petit détour dans le Lot ; je peux rêver !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful in white, my most favorite Royal Queen Mary!!!
ReplyDeleteAs Mary was still crown princess, her cv on the Danish Royal website listed Danish, English, and French. But French was taken away after some time.
ReplyDeleteBoth her mother tongue and her second language are listed there. Is it in any way relevant for you if or that she speaks a bit of French? Pray, let us know why.
DeleteYou should follow Queen Mary on her trips.
DeleteI'm sure you would (auto)- translate anything in French (and in any other language) in no time.
You look so good at the French language in your comments here on this blog!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I know you love exclamation marks).
What about your Finnish, by the way?
Well noted @ Anonymous 13:00. She lived in Paris for some (?) months during her courtship and may speak some French.
DeleteI’m not sure why the critical comments by Anon 17:26 and P are here against your comment - there is nothing to ridicule with your facts. I wish the cutting comments and meanness would stop here. Stupid and nasty to erode others’ reasonable comments.
Anonymous 05:17: thank you for your support. The comment is simply a note on language, which plays an important role when receiving members of the royal family abroad.
DeleteThere’s no problem mentioning Mary’s languages. There is a real problem responding with cutting sarcasm.
DeleteInteresting about her languages, thank you. (Not sure who the trolls are criticising your interesting point?!?!)
DeleteI agree with 05:17, 09:24, 12:23, 12:51,...
DeleteFinland is looking to this visit from Frederik and his spanish lady!
ReplyDeleteWhat spanish lady?
DeleteQueen Mary was born in Tasmania, Australia.
I do not think that Finland waits for any Spanish lady. We know that the story of Frederik and a Spanish lady was only gossip. - Mary is originally from Australia - if I remember it correctly.
DeleteMargot
Mary is from Australia, not Spain
DeleteAnon at 13:04, what a weird comment! I do not know from which country you are but I'm sure that everyone in Finland knows that Mary is from Australia. And yes, we all are looking forward to their visit, not just looking 😉.
DeleteLove this photo of the royal couple! Now I'm excited to see what Queen Mary will wear on these 2 visits--wish she was joining the King on the Japanese visit too.
ReplyDeleteJanet
I am sure Mary Will wear Andiata in Finland.
DeleteI’m wondering if QM will wear a tiara during their State visit to France. We know Camilla and Mathilde opted not to. Maybe tiaras are only worn when the host country has a King as head of state. With or without a tiara I’m sure QM will dazzle.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
I am quite sure they will wear tiaras. At least the Swedish royals have always worn when they have visited Finland (several times).
Delete-SAF
Mary, Charlene and Letizia are dressed spot on lately.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to see.
Ada
Beautiful photo
ReplyDeleteAlthough the white dress suits her it is ill fitting.
ReplyDeleteAre you suggesting any improvements to the fit of the dress?
DeleteHer native language is English, and she studied French during her secondary education. In 2002, she briefly worked as an English tutor in Paris while dating Crown Prince Frederik.[10] After moving to Denmark and before her marriage, Mary studied Danish as a foreign language at Studieskolen in Copenhagen in 2003
ReplyDeleteSuch petty comments . Mary is an intelligent and articulate woman - let’s celebrate women who try to make a difference in our global community .
ReplyDeleteShe stands in front of him
ReplyDelete… as positioned by the professional photographer for a lovely balanced image.
DeleteYes, and you're still trolling this board.
DeleteTo state the obvious, if it weren't for the comment, we wouldn’t know.…
DeleteShe does look great on white, although I don't particularly like this picture, nevertheless I find that they both look formal and dignified.
ReplyDeleteOn a different note, about having the silverware facing down at the royal table, it is to show the initials engraved on the back of the utensils. Who knew.?..I didn't, it came up on a Dutch documentary about the Dutch royal family.
Luna
Hello Luna
DeleteI wanted to reply to the request for info about silverware in a table setting facing down (spoons, forks).
Unfortunately, I have very little free time at the moment so my comment is (perhaps) a bit out of date.
I’ve always been led to believe that they are faced down to show off the family’s initials or family crest.
The tableware we are talking about is, of course, solid silver.
This was a subtle way for the rich, noble or royal families to show off their standing or wealth.
And, it is also possible that each country has its rule or tradition for setting a table.
This culture has probably been almost lost to the fact that cutlery is now either silver plated or stainless steel.
The rich, noble and royals now have other ways of showing off their wealth.
p.s. Another great subject is table napkins and the rules, do’s and dont’s on how they are presented on a table.
.
Great looking couple. On these visits to Finland and France, hope we will see Tiaras.
