Princess Iman of Jordan and her husband, Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Queen Rania announced the news on Sunday. In her caption, the Queenexpressed her gratitude while also revealing the newborn's name. 'My darling Iman is now a mother," she gushed. "We're grateful and overjoyed to meet Amina, our family's newest blessing. Congratulations, Jameel and Iman – may God bless you and your precious little girl.'
Princess Iman gave birth at Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II Hospital in Aqaba. Queen Rania shared a post, along with photographs, on social media announcing the arrival of baby Amina. The new parents could be seen surrounded by Queen Rania and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
Princess Iman and Jameel Alexander Thermiotis announced their pregnancy back in January. At the time, they shared a photograph of themselves posing on the beach at sunset, with Iman showing off her growing baby bump.
Rania is wearing scrubs; perhaps she attended the birth? I think she looks marvellous here, probably my favourite photos of her ever, … partly because I love her in these simple clothes, partly because she’s so natural … an overjoyed mumma proud of her daughter and in love with her granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteIt’s her daughter in law that had the baby girl !!
Delete@16:47 This new baby girl was born to the daughter of Abdullah & Rania. The first baby girl was born in August to their daughter-in-law. ~~Ruthie
Delete@Anon 16:47 Princess Iman, the new mother, is the oldest daughter of King Abdullah and Queen Rania.
Delete@Anon 16:47 lol! You need to catch-up on things. Her daughter-in-law had her baby girl months ago. This is now her daughter who has a baby girl.
Delete- Anon 9:13
No, Anon16:47 It's her and the king's daughter. Her d-i-l had a baby girl a couple of months ago. Two different women.
DeleteAnonymous 16:47, with all due respect for your correction to my comment, it is Rania’s daughter and what an exciting day.
Delete@Anonymous 16:47 - Rania’s daughter-in-law does have a baby daughter, but this post is about Rania’s daughter, who just gave birth to a baby daughter.

Anonymous 16:47, you are correct in that her daughter in law just a had a baby girl, but the is her daughter Iman that just gave birth to a little girl.
DeleteAs far as I know Iman is their daughter.
DeleteAnother bundle of joy! How wonderful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the happy parents, and to the proud and beaming King and Queen.

Beautiful name! Congratulations to them!

ReplyDeleteWelcome to a very special family, AMINA!!!
I would be interested to know how this name is pronounced?
Stress on the first syllable: “Woman of peace, harmony, security”...
Stress on the second syllable: “The trustworthy one”...
But it's not that important, the main thing is that mother and child are healthy and the whole family is happy about this little newborn ray of sunshine!!!
أمينة / Amīna, mit in.
Thank you!!!!!!!!
DeleteBoth pronouncations are so lovely and beatiful!!!!
DeleteI believe it is pronounced ah-MEE-na.

Anon 16:47, are you new to the forum on the Jordanian royal family. Otherwise, you would have known this is the King and Queen second grand daughter from their eldest daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the king looking at his daughter with his granddaughter, and her looking back at her dad is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations princess Iman and Mr Thermiotis on your baby girl. They did “not showing the baby’s face” very well, and captured the emotions. Love it.

In the second photo I wonder if the king is saying a prayer for them as he did with his granddaughter Iman.
ReplyDeleteSweet pictures. Congratulations to the new parents.

What a beautiful name. Congratulations to both families on the arrival of little Amina.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Lovely name, and Amina surely will be raised inside a very loving family. I like the authenticity of these pictures. This is what a new mother who just gave birth to her baby should be. Not with her hair brushed, make up on, heels and whatnots. Queen Rania is beaming with joy and pride. And the King seems emotional witness I his first born daughter becoming a mother.
ReplyDeleteMARIE
Good point, Marie. At first, I thought, "Wow, it looks like these are more personal photos for the family album, just after giving birth." Almost surprised that they were shared with the public. However, you are right. This is lovely. No pretense, heels, make-up, loads of photographers, etc. Just a natural moment that this royal family is sharing with the rest of the world.
DeletePrecious photos! A lovely name for the little one. ~ Louise
ReplyDeleteUne autre petite fille qui vient combler les heureux grands-parents !
ReplyDeleteUne autre petite fille que les familles ne manqueront pas de câliner ; j'attends de les voir grandir !
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely and peaceful foto of a very proud and loving grandfather and blessing Amina...very very heart-warming!

Which black ring does the king wore? An oura ring?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering , too. I think that Q Rania wears one too. Perhaps a kind of wedding ring? CC
DeleteI believe it's an Oura ring, looks like it. Many royals have that ring, P. William, P. Haakon etc...
DeleteAnd how sweet are those pictures! Pure joy and happines and no need for fancy clothes or posing.
DeleteWelcome to the World little Amina. Beautiful Name, such nice pictures. Congratulations to the parents and grandparents on both sides
ReplyDeletecss.
Interesting that (with the exception of the King) they are all wearing scrubs.
ReplyDeleteHer husband and mum likely were with her as she was delivered of her baby.
DeleteT
Yeah, I figured that out. What I was actually thinking/surprised about is that they didn't change clothes for the photos, especially Rania being the clotheshorse that she is. I guess it's nice that they kept it real, so to speak.
DeleteCongratulations on the birth of baby Amina!!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful words from Queen Rania!!
The King, the Queen, Dad and Mum look so rightly proud and overjoyed, a pleasure to see all of them enjoying such magical moments.
Great pictures - happy birthday Amina! No surprise that Rania can even make scrubs look fashionable. The King seems to really enjoy being a grandpa, it's wonderful to see. Iman looks so very young here, how lovely of them to share such an intimate moment with the public! All the best to the little family!
