Today is February 18, 2025, and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie is celebrating her 41st birthday. Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy was born on February 18, 1984, in Ronse, Belgium. She is the youngest of the eight children of Count and Countess de Lannoy. The House of Lannoy can be traced back to the 13th-century nobility of Hainaut. The Counts of Hainaut were often rulers of other counties, including Flanders and Holland.
Stéphanie studied at the École Sancta Maria in Renaix, Belgium. She began her secondary education at Collège Sainte-Odile in northern France and continued at Institut de la Vierge Fidèle in Brussels, where she obtained her diploma in 2002. She majored in German philology at the University of Louvain (UCLouvain) in Louvain-la-Neuve and also earned a master's degree at Humboldt University of Berlin.
On October 20, 2012, Stéphanie married Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg City. Since then, she has held the title of Her Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg. Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie and Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg are parents to two sons: Prince Charles, born on May 10, 2020, and Prince François, born on March 27, 2023.
Wonderful couple!
ReplyDeleteI just ♥️ this happy family!
ReplyDeleteShe always has such a beautiful and warm smile.
ReplyDeleteYes, and it always seems genuine. I love how she smiles with her whole face.
DeleteA very classy lady with no pretence. Always a pleasure to see her out and about
ReplyDeleteQuel plaisir de la voir sourire ; bon et heureux anniversaire à elle !
ReplyDeleteNot sure when the coral outfit was worn, but she looks great in it and I espcially like how her hair was done at that appearance.

Happy Birthday to the lovely Princess. These are very nice outfits or sweaters she is wearing in these photos. Chic hairstyles - gorgeous tangerine two-piece. Only the white jacket pulls too tight which takes away from the elegance and professionalism.
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely! Always happy. And they're such a down to earth-couple. Seem humble. And she seems to be smart and highly educated! I'm a fan of Stephanie 😊
ReplyDeleteAnd I didn't know she was a countess before she married.

There are many noble families in Belgium. de Lannoy is only one of them. A number of other noble families which I remember are de Ligne, de Mérode, de Lalaing, de la Faille, and many more. There were so much noble families but in 1830 nobody of the families would be king. Therefore they had to look to the other countries around Belgium to find a prince who would be king of Belgium. As you probably know it was Leopold von Sachsen Coburg-Gotha who finally accepted and became under the name of King Leopold I king of the Belgians.
DeleteSuch a happy family.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely woman with a beautiful, adorable family. When Stephanie smiles her entire face smiles too! She seems so kind and unpretentious. May she have a wonderful birthday!
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo--Stephanie is lovely in all the photos but her smile in this one is radiant. Little Francois is so sweetly cuddled into his Mommy. Just a beautiful photo. Happy Birthday--hope she has a marvelous day!
