On February 22, 2025, Crown Princess Amalia christened the Combat Support Ship (CSS) 'Den Helder' in Vlissingen. The CSS 'Den Helder' was designed and built by Damen Naval on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. The Den Helder will serve as the Royal Netherlands Navy's new supply ship, providing fuel, ammunition, water, food, and spare parts to naval vessels at sea worldwide. This event marked the Princess's first official solo engagement.
The ship is nearly 180 meters long and has a crew of 75. It can also be deployed in the fight against international drug trafficking, to support refugee operations, and to provide emergency aid. After the ceremony, Princess Amalia was given a tour of the ship and spoke with crew members and those involved in the construction of the Den Helder.
I think we as Dutch people can be proud of our princess of Orange, she did her first solo task very well and the Max Mara suit looked beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteYes, she is very chic. And she didn't seem to be nervous. Very relaxed.
DeleteWow, the Princess of Orange looks really lovely on this occasion, as well as poised and confident. Great to see
DeleteAnnieM
I think she looks wonderful here. She has the height to carry off a double breasted jacket and wide trousers, and the colours are very flattering and harmonious. I’m really intrigued by her hairstyle - it seems to be a low, loose braided ponytail? Regardless, it’s lovely, and the braided headband echoes the style perfectly. Well done CPA! (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteStunning crown princess!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. To perfect this, I would have chosen same earrings but in a smaller diameter, same trousers but more fitted.
ReplyDeleteHer perception of elegance (for trousers or earrings) for a young woman is obviously different from yours.
DeleteSalmon,The salmon colored pant suit is beautiful. De sleeves of her jacket are not ironed very well
ReplyDeleteI think the fabric of the sleeves is just folding when her arms bend. I don't think it has anything to do with poor ironing or steaming.
Delete4.34 It's when she moves, look at the model, the same on her!
DeletePffffff
DeleteI think the sleeves are too long und simply pushed up, nothing to do with ironing. Otherwise a great outfit, the Princess of Orange looks wonderful
DeleteI like her in the salmon coloured pant suit. The turtleneck jumper has a weird mocca color and does not go well together with the color of her pant suit. The little hat is not necessary and looks, I am sorry to say, a bit ridiculous. The golden earrings are a bit too big. The coat on top of the suit is a bit too much since it less cold the last two days. Yesterday it was 16°C. Unfortunately today there is no sunshine anymore and the t° was 11°C, not really cold. Of course in Den Helder it is probably colder than in the middle or southern part of The Netherlands. Anyway another turtle neck in wool could be worn and then the big coat could have stayed in the car. It is her first solo event and she will have to do more of these to learn which clothes one can wear the best.
ReplyDeleteUuum I like that she is wearing a headband rather than a hat, I am thinking the occasion calls for a hat but she is modernizing the protocol. And she is the crown princess so why not.
DeletePlease read the text again correctly: The ship is called ‘Den Helder’ and was christened in Vlissingen
DeleteVlissingen. De boot heet Den Helder. De doop was in Vlissingen. En het was regenachtig dus draag je een jas
DeleteIt is OK not to like headbands. But from there, it is a loooong way to them being ridiculous. - As for the coat, why not wear it on the way and remove when she jumps into action - this is exactly what she did. I am happy for her looking very confident, so much more than last year when she was on royal tour with her parents.
Delete@ 20:23
DeleteSorry for my mistake I thought the ship was christened in Den Helder too.
So you don’t like the jumper, you find the hat (which is actually a hair band) ridicilous, the earrings are too big and she should not have worn a coat. Thank you for this comment. I hope princess Amalia will take notice of it 😂
DeletePerfect, she looks fabulous. .
ReplyDeleteYes, she does. Chic and classic elegance, great colours.
DeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteImpressive. What a beautiful future Queen.
DeleteCongratulations Princess Amalia.
Amalia looks fantastic! Very happy to be there, relaxed, confident. You wouldn't guess it's her first solo visit. The salmon pink suit with the high collared camel top underneath suits her. The coat over the shoulders looks very Maxima :-) (apparently it is Maxima's coat). Hair and make-up are perfect. She will make a wonderful queen someday.
ReplyDeleteDamsel Dragonfly
Funny you should mention this, I am not sure I understand why they just wear the coat over the shoulders all the time, it looks silly to me. Part from that, nice.
DeleteI once read they do it because they are out in the cold a bit and then go inside: they can take off and put on the coat very quickly. Also in the car. I don't know if that's the real reason but it made sense to me.
DeleteDamsel Dragonfly
She looks gorgeous
ReplyDeleteOh wow what a beauty! Absolutely love her hair this way, youthful, and the headband gives her a dignified look. Suit is the perfect colour for her. Just wow
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, maybe Maxima can learn something about how to have a wonderful hair-do
DeletePrincess Amalia has the most lovely complection.
ReplyDeletePrincess Amalia has the most lovely complection.
ReplyDeleteAmalia looks beautiful - lovely demeanor, outfit, and hairstyle, and impressive poise.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
I would have preferred a matching or cream colored turtleneck. CP Amalia has the most lovely complection!
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
Elle a vraiment une belle allure dans ce tailleur/pantalon saumoné ; j'aime beaucoup le style original de son serre-tête qu'elle a combiné judicieusement avec ses boucles d'oreilles !
ReplyDeleteGorgeous everything!
ReplyDeleteThe suit, the colour, the coat, the inner polo-neck, the headpiece, her hair...everything looks lovely on Amalia. Best of all, gorgeous princess!

She looks like Q. M.'s "mini me". Perfect maxima look alike except Q. M. has a smile a mile wide that exudes confidence and P.A. has a sweet little smile that shows she's still a little shy. Sweet girl!! You look BEAUTIFUL with your dusty pink pant suit which whispers Spring is coming!! WELL DONE!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks exactly like her grandmother Princess Beatrix at that age…
DeleteShe is not a mini me, she resembles her fathers side of the family, the excepbeing she is tall like her mother.
DeleteShe certainly has round apple cheeks like Princess Beatrix. She is very pretty.
DeleteShe looks so elegant in those colors with her hat and coat on her shoulders, like her mother does it's like she took a page out of the Maxima playbook and styled herself accordingly. She's gorgeous. I've heard that she's very intelligent too. She'll make a spectacular queen.
Delete@ 10:12
DeleteI agree she resembles her fathers side of the family. King Willem Alexander is very tall himself. He is even taller than Queen Maxima. When W.A. was young he too had the round apple cheeks from Princess Beatrix, his mother.
You're right she does look like her mother dressed in a very elegant pink suit, which stands out against the gray weather background. I love the hat too.
DeleteLa tenue et les couleurs sont jolies mais le serre-tête et les grosses boucles d oreille sont de trop. Moins d accessoires rendrait l ensemble plus frais et léger.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh it would make the outfit so bland
Delete@ The outfit would not be bland at all, rather less is more.
Joli costume rose. Paloma.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this kind of trousers is a good choice for her.
ReplyDeleteWide pants are very much in vogue
DeleteThey may be "en vogue", but they don't look good on her.
Delete@Coralie We will agree to disagree.
DeleteBeautiful princess and an excellent outfit. Lovely personality it would seem, just like both her parents.
ReplyDeleteLily
OMG! She looks incredibly good, fantastic. Love this ensemble. She looks so elegant. Beautiful, all class.
ReplyDeleteYes, she truly has a Natural class too.
DeleteWow what a great look for the Pss of Orange. She is a beautiful young woman; she must be the pride of her family, and the Nation I like this suit a lot. Her shyness has fallen away, it states look at me. Great job.
ReplyDeletecss
I dont particularly like the suit, but i think she looks great, big difference in her posture and confidence since her trip to the Caribbean with her parents.
ReplyDeleteShe comes from a great lineage of Queens, I'm sure she will be a great one in due time.
Anything she does now is perfect, even her mistakes, not implying she's done any, its all part of her training.
Luna
I am sure grandma is helping her along
DeleteAnonymous 10:13
DeleteSure, Amalia must have fired all her personal staff to follow only her granny's advice...
Luckily enough and with all due respect, Amalia didn't choose the over sprayed hair helmet.
Oh, by the way, who is that lovely lady so elegantly dressed in Pic 6 helping the Princess with her coat?
Gorgeous young lady. She carries herself with poise and confidence. Looking forward see more of her.
ReplyDeleteMARIE
I love that she's pulled her hair back. She's a beautiful young woman and doesn't need to hide behind her hair.
ReplyDeleteThe suit is not my favorite color but she does arrows it well.
Cinci
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteFrom Joann. Princess Amalia is a stunning, natural beauty. I like that she does not wear heavy makeup as so many young women do.
ReplyDeleteDid you saw pictures of her without make-up? There is a big difference when she does not use make-up. Her make-up here is moderate, but on other occasions she uses a lot of make-up, too much for her young age.
DeleteBeautiful and very nice clothes!
ReplyDeleteShe looks wonderful and seems much more confident in her role now. I love her hair. - Louise
ReplyDeleteWow, she looks absolutely stunning. Hope she has a less stressful life now, no threats etc.
ReplyDeletePrincess Amalia looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteShe's immaculately groomed and has got such a natural grace and kindness to her.
In the last pic and seen from afar , Amalia resembles her mother a lot, how amazing!
A really impressive young lady, gradually and gracefully coming into her role.
Well done indeed, Pss Amalia!
To me it looks like she’s copying the style of her mother (suits, bold jewellery, , coat over the shoulder, …). The suit is nice ( however somewhat massive), but I don’t like the shape or color of the mocca top. Beautiful hairdo !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful young lady and great to see her growing in confidence. JJ
ReplyDeleteGrown up and GORGEOUS!
