On February 6, 2025, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium received Belgian ambassadors to the European Union, consuls-general, and permanent representatives at the Castle of Laeken as part of the Diplomatic Days, the annual gathering for Belgian diplomacy. The annual European Union Ambassadors Conference, entitled ‘EU Foreign Policy that Delivers,’ takes place between February 3 and 7 in Brussels.
Queen Mathilde is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that her hair looks dry at the 3rd picture.
Found something else to comment on her hair. Now that it is longer than before and has a softer style, you say it looks dry. How can you see it on a picture ? To know for sure you must feel her hair between your fingers. Did you ?
DeleteHer hair looks…fine? I don’t see any dryness at all and her hairstyle suits her. She looks like her usual lovely self and seems a warm and kind queen!
DeleteThanks for your keen observation! We’ll be sure to let her know you noticed. 😉
DeleteQueen Mathilde is wearing an ensemble she wore for the first time in 2019. She first had made the dress, a couple of months later she had made the jacket. She also has a little hat (headband type) made by Fabienne Delvigne in the same red fabric and a clutch also made of the same fabric. The fabric of her outfit can be used on both sides. I liked it the first time she wore it and I still do.
ReplyDeleteThat is so interesting, thank you for sharing.

As always: beautifull, stylish and elegant!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and love the outfit. So many possibilities too - could pair the top with a same coloured burgundy skirt, either plain, or printed with the same fabric as the top since the print is not too busy but beautifully delicate. Mathilde looks lovely.

ReplyDeleteThe fabric of the dress and the jacket are the same. It is burgundy on one side and a very pale rose/mauve on the other side. It is what we call in French "double face". I don't know the exact translation in English. Queen Mathilde has worn the dress sometimes without the jacket.
Oh thank you @Anon 15:00 I did not realise that. I couldn't see the skirt too clearly on my phone, but I appreciate the information. If it's the same fabric but reversed, that makes the outfit even more admirable.

Lovely outfit. Interesting to know it’s reversible. A great look for Queen Mathilde
