Princess Anne visited South Africa. On the second day of her visit, as President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, she visited the Cape Town Labour Corps Memorial. This memorial honours the contributions of South African military labourers during the First World War and reflects the CWGC’s commitment to ensuring that all those who died in the two World Wars are equally commemorated.
The Princess visited the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation. There, she learned about the life and work of Archbishop Tutu, his efforts to promote healing from discrimination and injustice, and how his legacy continues through the Foundation’s current programmes.
Later, the Princess visited the Royal Cape Yacht Club, where she learned about the work of The Royal Cape Sailing Academy, an organisation that empowers young people to develop their skills through sailing. The Academy teaches young people from some of the most under-resourced communities how to sail, fostering self-confidence and leadership skills.
Finally, the Princess visited a Thuthuzela Care Centre (TCC). Thuthuzela Care Centre's provide a safe space for survivors of sexual assault, where they can receive counselling, medical, and legal support without needing to recount their experiences to multiple agencies, thereby avoiding secondary re-traumatization.
I love her smile in the third photo. Lovely colour on her. The war graves commission an honourable cause. My grandfather repatriated the fallen soldiers on the battlefield to be reburied in commonwealth graves in WWI. A very brave man in a forgotten battalion, who served admirably.

I wonder what the idea of the 'beige' wooly scarf is...because it doesn't match her orange silky dress. She has a very good figure for her age.
ReplyDeleteI think the scarf was given to her; hence she wore it. The raw silk dress looks lovely and cool.
DeleteThe pantsuit looks unintentionally oversized and a bit sloppy to me. I much preferred the white trousers and printed shirt she wore earlier in the tour. As for the dress, I don’t think the colour is flattering and the scarf seems like an afterthought. Overall both of these outfits are disappointing. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThe cut, colour, style and scarf of the tangerine dress looks really lovely on P.Anne. It's just the shiny fabric that I don't much like - not for daytime, outdoors, and in bright sunshine.
ReplyDeleteHer tan suit and blue shirt/blouse is very nice too.

The fabric looks like raw silk which tends to be shiny looking but very cool to wear.
DeleteThe orange silky dress is too shiny to wear during the day.
ReplyDeleteI love the hairstyle and dress of the lady in the Care Centre (last picture) What a difference with Princess Anne.
Lovely lady, great personality, albeit with not always a happy choice in clothing
