International Holocaust Remembrance Day, observed annually on January 27, commemorates the victims of the Holocaust. Those pearls would have looked beautiful with a dress. The hair is looking wild and beautiful

Gorgeous pics, esp pic 3. Never met her, but Catherine seems to have a bigger and bigger heart for others as time goes by. Hard to know if that’s true from a few photos but she seems very genuine.

This ensemble is appropriate for the occasion. I simply love the five strand pearl necklace, really elevating the look in a subtle way. Elegance. The earrings are a good choice. Very moving photos and marvellous visit by the Royal couple.

Catherine is perfectly attired for this somber occasion. Adding the pearls to her outfit added a simple yet elegant elevation to her overall look. I hope some of the survivors she met through her photo book about COVID were able to attend so they could re-unite.

How do you know about extensions ?? For Maxima it is different, we see her either natural length or occasionally longer, that can only be extensions. Useful to think of it.

she is blessed with natural long thick hair, no extensions!

Ha ha brilliant typo… I too would love to look “too thing”. But I also agree, this look is quite elongating with the black, the hair, the pearls, the trousers … I suspect that the wearer is happy with the look of she would have altered it, so more power to her. Very elegant.

The pearl necklace seems to be old and very classic but in some way it looks very beautiful on her black top. I see she also wears a pearl bracelet (pic. N° 5 & 6). Maybe it belonged to Queen Elizabeth.
And to anon. 05:54. How can you say she is too thin. A person that has just finished her chemotherapy. These chemicals are not leaving your body immediately. She is still recovering from that terrible disease.
I know what I am talking about. I looked after my husband day after day and at night, during a whole year before he passed away due to cancer. And if she needs hair extensions temporarily so what ? In the meantime her natural hair can grow again. I assume she is feeding herself with the best natural ingredients. After a while you will see she will look better and better and so will her hair.
I realize I didn't say anything about the victims of Nazi Germany. The victims of the personification of evil. Unfortunately we encounter lately more than ever that such evil still exists. Evil people for whom a human life has no value at all. I admire the survivors that they still have the courage to be there after all they have been through during WWII and probably a long time after it was all over.

      Well said!!!!!!
I thought also that the pearls could have been from the late Queen. I am dutch but I prefer Catherine over Maxima

Catherine looks like a very nice person. The royal family and William are lucky to have her in the family.

I like Queen Maxima too you know. She is a completely different lady than Princess Catherine. They both have their own personality.
I like Maxima because of her happy spirit. She looks always happy when visiting common people or elderly in their hobby clubs and she is always trying to make something herself in these clubs. In the meantime she is talking spontaneously to these people and one can see they are so pleased that the queen pays attention to them.

As someone who has had to wear extensions for different reasons, I can say that there is no shame (or should be no shame) in doing so. It has been evident over the years that many royal women use them from time to time, and in my opinion, Kate is no exception. Especially after her health difficulties this past year, even though she said she didn't need the same treatment that causes one to lose his/her hair, there still may have been thinning, etc. So, why should she not try something new? And who cares if she does? She still looks nice, which is the point. The hair extension company RPZL has stated that she uses their products, as has Princess Beatrice. Not a big deal at all. Is she any less a princess due to her hair extensions? Not at all.

Princess Catherine‘s pearl necklace is not from the late queen, it is from the vintage collection of Susan Caplan. There is probably a story behind the necklace, I was unable to find out more details, but I would think that every item worn by the Princess was very carefully chosen for this political event.

It's so staggering to read how Pss Kate's supposed hair extentions prevail over considerations and thougthtful comments on the meaning of her public appearance on this occasion.
To call a spade a spade:
I bet Kate's participation is no casual decision.
It is a meeting of survivors for different reasons.
They all escaped from a tragic destiny, including the Princess.
I know my words can sound a bit direct and maybe harsh but that's how I feel about it.
It 's all about a cancer survivor meeting with other survivors.
    All escaped from hell somehow.
They all know and cherish the valute of Life more than anyone
It's getting harder and harder for me to comment on Pss Kate as I feel I can get emotional and words fail me.
Of course, I'm so happy and it's such a relief to see her back on the public scene. .
I wish her the best in Life and continued good health.
I was particularly moved by pic 3 portraying an old survived lady caressing Kate's cheek.
    It's pure tenderness.
They seem to be saying also the unspoken just with their gestures and the way they look at each other.

Also, maybe it's just me but Kate's jewelry (necklace & sapphire ring) are highly symbolic.
They hadn't been chosen randomly either and they were not just the adornments of a Crown Princess.
I read somewhere that this splendid necklace belonged to late Queen Elizabeth.
I feel Pss Kate was saying something like this:
'Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana are here with me to hug you all'.

The necklace is apparently from a Jewish jewelry designer, not from the collection of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
