On January 23, 2025, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Camberley to meet with members of the Band of the Coldstream Guards. The Duchess serves as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Corps of Army Music. The Duchess opted for a pale grey woollen coat designed by British designer Suzannah London. Underneath her coat, she wore a polka-dot dress by Prada.

Nice outfit and the dress is a better length and looks fine with the shoes ( the model looks awful!) The Duchess herself looking lovely as always.

The Prada shirtdress features pearl detail on collar and cuffs. Surely too casual a look when visiting the military, to have top button undone.

DeleteCan understand wanting a bit of space at the neck and having the top button undone. On the other hand I don’t find this no doubt very pricey dress particularly nice; the main material is fine but I don’t find the shiny beige collar and bells on the collar tips (really!) to be particularly harmonious. A white cotton collar would have been fresher and prettier. For me this is an example of the dress being successful because Prada brand is on the label and not because it’s a well designed article.
DeleteThe idea of the dress for visiting a military setting is good, but the beige of collar and cuffs is not flattering.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like the coat very much. But that huge blergh-beige hard collar framing her face ruins this otherwise pretty and swishy (I love georgette) dress for me - colour, size, hardness and those gold buttons are all things I'd wish are not there.
ReplyDeleteTrès bien dit anonyme 10 : 14. La robe serait bien plus jolie et légère sans le col et les poignets ! Paloma
DeleteDress = €3,700. Anyone here think it’s worth this price?
ReplyDeleteNo, I think it’s ugly with the weird beige collar and cuffs
DeleteThe collar is the main design element of the dress and it looks very good when it’s buttoned. Otherwise it’s just a floppy mess. I like D.Sophie’s choice of shoes, but I think the drab taupe coat is a miss. Black would have looked good with the dress, or red perhaps? (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteNow this is the length I wish Sophie would adopt all the time. I wish she’d have just worn the coat dress, and not opted for the dress underneath. The coat dress is the perfect style for Sophie. It’s V neck and sits just over the knee, giving her a more balanced look.

Where's the bun comment?

Love the coat (lovely shape), dress, colours, dress length, collars (both coat and dress) and fabrics. Don't like the button-down gold buttons on the collar.

I too love the coat, not the absurdly priced dress
DeleteTrès élégant ce manteau que j'aurais bien vu porté sur la robe dans cette couleur sans les pois tout en conservant le beige du col et des poignets !
ReplyDeleteNice look today.
