On January 7, 2025, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the exhibition 'Emile Claus, Prince of Luminism' at the Mudel Museum in Deinze. Emile Claus (1849 – 1924) was a Belgian painter. The exhibition highlights the works of Emile Claus, one of Belgium’s most celebrated Impressionist painters and a leading figure in Luminism—an artistic movement dedicated to capturing light and its interplay with landscapes and figures.
Terrific hair lately for Q. Mathilde. Her earrings today are terrific and I like the colour she is wearing. The design and tailoring leave me unimpressed.

DeleteThis grey ensemble was wow! for the first time (I saw it) and it keeps being wow! Perfect fit for her body type.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree! — Jane
DeleteVisited myself. Beautiful expo.
ReplyDeleteI read today that there was one painting on the exhibition that has been lend out by the Royal Family. The Royal Family has quite a collection of paintings by Emile Claus. The majority of them have been acquired during the 20s by Queen Elisabeth, King Philippe's great grandmother.
DeleteGreat outfit, top to bottom, a shame the wind caught her hair, but a wonderful outfit impression overall.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Look - Beautiful Queen.

DeleteLovely photos N°5 and N°6.
Her hair looks sensational! love it! This outfit looks splendid, love the color of her shoes and clutch.
ReplyDeleteI agree on everything.
DeleteQueen Mathilde looks beautiful! Never been a fan of this outfit because of the top but the trousers are pretty near perfect--especially on Mathilde because of her height. What I really love is her softer hairstyle--looks like her hairdresser has dialed back on the use of hairspray or other stiffening products. The volume is still there but this newer softness is fabulous.

There is a new hairstylist who received the title of "fournisseur de la cour" in December 2024. Maybe it is his work. I do not agree on the use of hairspray a.o. Belgium is a country with a lot of wind, not only during Fall and Winter but the whole year. There are a lot of pictures of Queen Mathilde where you can see her hair flying up because of the wind. Just like today on these pictures. If you use a lot of hairspray your hair won't fly up. I also think Queen Mathilde decided on growing her hair a bit longer than before.
DeleteTerrible outfit, she is aging rapidly.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you can say that, she is slim and lovely. Her gray outfit is beautiful lush fabric but somehow looks a little messy with the draped scarf.

I agree, the outfit is very fiddly and unbecoming, but I see no abnormal
Deleteaging. Perhaps you would like to see her looking younger than ever like Maria Teresa of Luxemburg, queen Rania of Jordan and other royals with their „plastic“ faces, but I trust that this queen will prefer to age naturally.
Her new hairstyle is youthful und flattering.

The lines of this superb outfit -- the cut and length of the pants, and the way the top drapes -- are pure elegance. Absolutely beautiful on Mathilde, and the matching shoes complete the look properly. I can't think of any of our royal ladies this wouldn't look good on, and I can see it as an evening look too, in a deep color and luxurious fabrics, worn with statement earrings and a clutch.
