Doctors decided to insert a pacemaker after 87-year-old Queen Sonja was taken to the hospital a few days earlier due to a rapid heartbeat experienced during a skiing trip. The procedure was carried out at the Rikshospitalet in Oslo on January 16, 2025. Norway’s royal court said the operation had been a success and that Queen Sonja was doing well. Queen Sonja was discharged from the Rikshospitalet today following the procedure.
I'm happy for this lovely Queen that she went ahead with the restorative medical procedure to improve her health condition, and thereby also serving as an example to so many women (and men) who are afraid or reluctant to have a pacemaker. I wish Queen Sonja all the very best.

Get well soon, Sonja!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see her looking so well. I must say it was disturbing to hear she had an accident on her skiing trip, then to hear she had a pacemaker implanted. I wish her the very best, she one lady I admire so much. She is the epitome of class and style.
