Mais Léonor fera un beau voyage. C'est une riche expérience pour elle.
    Paloma.

Dear Paloma, I think Letizia wore the pussy blouse on purpose. It is a classic look on a windy day, the attention is focused on the beloved daughter, a casual, motherly outfit. According to Angie, the hair band has a specific meaning so that the girly-girly criticism is unjustified.

      @ Virginia
I am afraid I must agree with Paloma. The hair band even if it belongs to Leonor is looking childish. Fashionwise it does not match the rest of the outfit. Fashion is the first reason we are on this blog.

Seeing the pictures where the King and Queen are waving goodbye, you just know there'll be tears once the cameras are gone. They both look so proud! Fashion-wise it's full points all around. The uniforms look smashing and Letizia does suits like almost nobody else. The blue is gorgeous and while I'm normally not a big fan of these headbands, it ties in nicely with the gold buttons and embroidery all around her. Well done and fair winds to Leonor!

Ahhh proud mama and papa. I like the queens suit and headband, smart move to prevent hair blowing about by the sea breeze. Uniforms are very smart.

Letizia can do theme dressing like no one else. Color and gold accessories are a perfect match for Leonor's big day. Crisp, clean mom look to send her little bird off to fly.

Feliz travesía, Elcano, vientos favorables y buena mar.

Such a thoughtful and heartfelt message. The symbolism of the tiara is really touching, especially as it marks such a poignant moment in Leonor’s life. Queen Letizia's elegance and the family's unity are always so evident. Wishing them all the best on their journey!

  13. It is very hard to say goodbye and retain your composure, you don't want to upset your loved one leaving. I feel for the Royal parents. Its a pain you cannot describe watching your child leave. They both did so well, keeping there poise. I can only imagine what they were thinking. My son left for 9 months on deployment he was in the Royal Australian Navy. I know how the royal couple feel. My son came back safe and that was all that mattered. I wish the Princess and the rest of the crew, safe journey on the unforgiving sea, I hope the journey is peaceful and steady.

Exactly my thoughts, though the blouse is somewhat matching. Headband might be a practical idea but this type is suitable for a little bridesmaid. She could have chosen a bun or a ponytail or at least go for a more "mature" headband like the one I remember Kate Middleton once wore to an air base with P.George.

Anon 12:30...the headband belongs to her daughter, she was not come across as anything, It is a significant thing, sometimes some people think in important things, not nonsense.

Anon 14:16 It would be great if that was the case, I couldn't find any proof that the headband is her daughter's. Of course, if you are a palace insider, you know better.

Dear Paloma, I like pussy blouses, but not always. I reacted like I did because some bloggers here say that they give women the look of „old librarians“ etc. etc. and shame the wearers so that I was perhaps too emotional. You were definitely neutral, sorry about my overreaction. I liked your French version of my name.
