On January 9, 2025, Princess Kako of Japan visited a special exhibition titled "The Pokémon × Kogei: Playful Encounters of Art and Japanese Craft," held at the Azabudai Hills Gallery. The exhibition includes approximately 70 Pokémon-inspired craft works, ranging from simple reproductions of Pokémon created with materials like copper to intricate artistic expressions, such as jars intricately designed to incorporate Pokémon shapes.
Kogei is a term used to describe Japanese traditional arts and crafts. Twenty artists, ranging from established masters to young and emerging creators, have drawn inspiration from Pokémon designs, evolutions, attacks, and journeys to craft unique pieces that merge traditional craftsmanship with the vibrant world of modern pop culture. Notable artists featured in the exhibition include Kasumi Ueba, Sadamasa Imai, Morihito Katsura, Takuro Kuwata, Saori Mizuhashi, and more.
Adorable princesse Kako que je trouve plus élégante dans ce manteau ceinturé près du corps sur une robe noire ; par contre, les chaussures sont toujours dans le même style donnant une impression de lourdeur !
ReplyDeletePrincess Kako always manages to look beautiful and elegant within the confines of what appear to be strict wardrobe rules for members of the Imperial family.

Yes, exactly this. She looks lovely.
DeleteThank you, Royal Watcher, for saying exactly what I think too! Kako is a lovely young lady and a true asset to the Imperial Family and her nation. Janet
DeleteVery true, Royal Watcher.

Indeed. This is a very elegant look that suits her very much.
DeleteDamsel Dragonfly
Absolutely!
DeleteShe's lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe more I see of her, the more I like her. She seems a great asset to the Japanese Imperial Family.
ReplyDeleteshe should follow her sister in New York and do something with her life instead of being a puppet for the imperial family
DeleteOh yes, she is, and I hope the japanese imperial family realises it!
Delete@Anon 06:43: Maybe she does not see herself in the same way you see her and her role. And I am sure her point of view is more important for her own life.
DeleteMy reply goes to DSC.
DeleteI really like to this dress-coat, we don't see pieces like this often in my the Japanese ladies.

Oh, I love this ensemble. This outfit suits her well. The belt works in well. Her accessories work in well. She is such a delight. Its always a pleasure to see her. What an asset she is to the Japanese Imperial family.
ReplyDeleteShe seems to have more events than Aiko, is that because Aiko is still in school?
ReplyDeleteJust wondering as Aiko is the daughter of the emperor.
愛子内親王殿下は昨年大学を卒業し、現在日本赤十字社の職員として毎日お忙しく勤務されています。
DeleteAs far as I know, Princess Aiko is working (parttime?) for the Japanese Red Cross Organisation.
DeleteThank you I appreciate your clarification
DeleteShe has the sweetest smile.
ReplyDeleteWell said Royal watcher
ReplyDeleteSo agree Royal Watcher & she does it with style
