Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako Visit Kobe

On January 16, 2025, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako arrived in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, to attend the Memorial Ceremony for the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. After arriving in Kobe, the Emperor and Empress visited a special exhibition commemorating the quake at the Hyogo Prefectural Hyogo-no-Tsu Museum. The Emperor and Empress will attend the ceremony on January 17, which commemorates the 30th anniversary of the earthquake.
