On January 14, 2025, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima hosted a New Year’s reception for foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations based in the Netherlands. The reception was held at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. The previous day, the Dutch Royal Couple hosted the first New Year’s reception of 2025 for Dutch guests.

      I think he just has his hair combed or blown back, this is unusual and makes the difference. Máxima is fabulous as always.

    The queen looks amazing in this color but a person can’t unseen that her husband looks unhealthy and somehow not at his best.

    Sorry, the outfit is just not likeable, as the straggly hair extensions look awful, her smile is nice, she needs a good 'bob' haircut.

      Jassen worden tegenwoordig niet meer in de vuilnisbak gegooid maar gerecycleerd. Zowel van de versieringen als van de stof kan men vandaag andere dingen maken.

      I agree with you AnnieM. Q.Maxima really is an uplifting spirit with her warm smile and colourful clothes and often quirky styles that makes us stop and take notice, pause, or comment. She is what we need to brighten these pages during these dark and cold winter months (it's -12C with a wind factor of -18C where I am presently in Canada, lol). I've missed her too and am happy to see her again.

    The King looks tired to me in these pictures, and Maxima looks bedraggled and surprisingly (for her) appears to not be wearing earrings. Maybe she changed clothes inside.

    I really like Queen Maxima and her exuberance and joy. Her outfits are always colourful and a bit "quirky" - which I think is great. I like when she wears her hair up or in some kind of bun. I think she would have looked better today if her hair had been in an up-do.

    Maxima’s outfit is a beautiful color and style, but the snowflake/starburst embellishments all over it ruin the whole look. Such a shame.

    Nice outfits, good looking couple. Did they go skiing over Christmas? I'm thinking windburn, like his aunt Anne Marie who we saw the other day at the ski slope. Christine

    After 4 weeks vacation, they look so tired, also very strange that the dutch do not share pictures from the reception inside the palace….
