On January 27, 2025, Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, accompanied by Oslo Mayor Anne Lindboe, visited the Department of Art and Design at OsloMet. During her visit, the Crown Princess learned about the life and legacy of textile artist Sigrun Berg. Born in 1901, Berg was a pioneering figure whose contributions have significantly influenced Norwegian textile art, design, fashion, and the textile industry.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit received an introduction to the life and work of Sigrun Berg from Liv Klakegg Dahlin, department head, author, and researcher. Much of Berg’s work is preserved in the historical collection of the department.

The project aims to document and preserve the work, materials, and history of Sigrun Berg and her weaving studio. Additionally, it seeks to explore her biography and, in doing so, highlight and record the contributions of other overlooked textile artists and designers.

She sure can wear this type of pant well. Lovely look

I like the outfit. The pants fit well and look exceedingly warm. The crisp white shirt and Navy jacket look perfect!

I like Mette-Maritt’s professional look; but as I contrast her to the cosy feminine look of the mayor, I wonder for a tiny moment why women for so long have worn a more masculine styled suit jacket to be professional … the blouse and vest combination is soft and still professional and surely easier to work at a desk in than a suit jacket.

Her trousers always look unflattering, like work back to front and high waisted.

Perfect. Love the pants. PS grown women prefer high waisted pants. It's not flattering having your fat hanging over the waistband. It's not flattering on a skinny teenager either. We all get it on low waisted pants 😉 Shivering thinking that they are now making a comeback. 😱

  6. J'aime beaucoup voir le blanc de ce chemisier combiné à une veste légèrement cintrée et un pantalon à taille haute, le tout convenant particulièrement bien à la silhouette de Mette-Marit !

Very nice casual look for the Crown Princess. Plaid trousers can be tricky to wear, but I love the cut and the colours combined with the white blouse.
