Crown Princess Leonor of Spain (Princess of Asturias) arrived in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, on Friday aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano after nearly a week-long sea voyage. She attended an official reception held on board for the President of the Canary Islands Parliament, Astrid Pérez, and other authorities.
The voyage aboard the Elcano will last six months, visiting eight countries across several continents. Stops include Tenerife and Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, followed by ports in Brazil, Chile, Peru, Panama, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and the United States.
For Princess Leonor, this voyage marks a pivotal step in her preparation as the future Queen of Spain. Following her naval training, Leonor will complete her three-year military education in the Air and Space Army, attending the San Javier General Air Academy as an Ensign Student during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Leonor looks very lovely in her uniform. Maybe wearing that cap is that part of her training where one has to serve under aggraveted circumstances, in this case with limited visibility? Either she bends her head backwards to see something, but then she risks losing her cap - or she tries to orientate herself according to what is before her feet. Not an easy task :-)
ReplyDeleteHer uniform suits her perfectly.
ReplyDeleteShe seems very aware of her future responsibilities, and I appreciate that.
It's true that the lives of heirs apparent are different from those of children and teenagers their own age. But such is life.
I pray that the Lord will guide her every day.
-Astrid.
She is a great young lady, conscious of her duty and beautiful.
DeleteNot sure she’ll be guided by a lord as much as an admiral or so! I’m finding it fun to follow her journey and hope it’s not too awkward for the others in her cohort that she has special privileges and arrives with a long line of medals to her uniform. I hope it gives them all a very special experience to share work and learning with their future queen.
DeleteAstrid, what a lovely prayer. Amen.
DeleteStarts sailing over the Atlantic soon!
ReplyDeletepiccola dolce Leonor sembra ieri che sei nata, ti seguo da allora
ReplyDeleteUne jolie jeune princesse qui porte merveilleusement bien l'uniforme !
ReplyDeleteLa infancia de la Princesa LEONOR por fin ha terminado...
ReplyDeletePERO: ¡¡¡Será una segura de sí misma, digna y maravillosa representante de la futura España!!!
